• (2025-02-25) Rye: Wonderful extension, can't remember when I first installed it but must have been over a decade ago. Seems like longer. To the folks complaining it doesn't work with the new reddit - THAT'S A GOOD THING. Maybe they don't know that Reddit actually gives you the option to use the old interface instead of the new one...it's right there in the Preferences, people. Extensions like Reddit Enhancement Suite help keep the internet working smoothly despite capitalism's best efforts.

• (2024-09-28) Richard Ward: Works perfectly still. Not sure why that one dude gave it a 1-star for not working on new reddit - none of the redesigns have been worth using in the first place. If you're using "new reddit" you probably don't care for efficiency anyway, so why would you want this plugin? It continues to work perfectly with old reddit, and continues to outperform what the company provided to its users in every way.

Nevertheless, res still works extremely well as it has before and keeps the old reddit usable to me even to this very date!

• (2023-12-20) J Rusk: Still works after the the awful changes at Reddit thankfully. Cut my Reddit time by 90% after the API changes and RIF had to go down, so when I do occasionally check Reddit, this app is the only way. Thanks for all the hard work after all this time!

It integrates into old.reddit so naturally sometimes I go to change my settings and realise what I thought were official reddit features are actually RES ones, further cementing that I will never want to leave it behind.

I recommend using the "reddit redirect" extension in conjunction with this one. Even though you can disable new reddit in your profile settings, the redirect extension makes it so that even if you click a new reddit link, or a /r/.... styled link, you'll get the old reddit layout. Why old reddit? One of many reasons: just try loading 20+ old vs new reddit pages on a less performant machine. You're bogging your computer down or depleting your laptop battery without even knowing it.
