After installing the extension if you're watching a video in a playlist and you click the 🔀 it will immediately navigate to another random video in the playlist you're in.
The main downside is that you have to give it some time before it's done. The reason for this is the trick I had to use to make this work. I can't really speed this up sadly.
I recommend turning your ad blocker off the first you test the extension, an ad blocker could interfere with the extension.
If the shuffle button does nothing when you click it, refresh the page and try it again.

- just not that useful for what someone would need a shuffler for. let me explain to the best of my ability what this does. it replaces the existing "shuffle playlist" function with a new function that brings you to what seems to be a truly random point in the playlist, HOWEVER the playlist will continue in order past this point. Additionally the link breaks so you have a pretty long wait time between when you click and when you can actually get the new point in the playlist (about 5-8 seconds for my machine which is on the better end of specs), in addition to it skipping the actual destination (this is the "video unavailable" other commenters are mentioning). If it actually worked as desired this really would not be a deal breaker, but it now feels more like salt on the wound. I grabbed this extension because the YT shuffle feature is broken and keeps playing the same couple videos over and over, but this doesn't fix that, and I really struggle to find a use case for this extension. It does what it says in the description but not what you probably came looking for.

- It works, got a 1563'th video out of 3000+ from Watch Later, very nice. I'd make this button alongside original shuffle because sometimes it reverts to an old functionality.

- Fixes the actual problem of Youtube not actually shuffling the playlist, which was VERY frustrating. Still two issues remain though. 1. The most common one I see many people already discussed, which is that you have to click the shuffle button manually each time. This is not a big deal honestly, but it goes alongside the actual problem that every so often there will be a message popping up "This video is unavailable" and then you will have to wait a bit before the shuffled video comes back up. Again, not a big deal, and I saw the dev say that is not fixable unfortunately. 2. I have not seen anyone mention this, but sometimes after 10 - 15 shuffles, I get kicked out of my playlist and the video plays on it's own outside of the playlist. No idea why this happens. Overall, does what it say it does. Happy with what it does. Thank you.

- Seems to do what it says somewhat? You need to re-enable shuffeling after every video, it takes forever to load & often displays "video unavaliable" for a small amount of time before the video begins. I don't even think it shuffles the whole playlist. I keep shuffeling my 1200 watch later playlist starting from the center and it stays within 200 videos up or down of the previous video. Could be decent in some cases, but not useful to me in practice.

- It's pretty ok. I don't really care about the unavailable video thing, but a main suggestion I have is to make it shuffle at the end of the video. It can actually do this, but it's weird and probably unintended. I have to remove it from chrome, start my play list and put it on youtube shuffle, and then re-add this to chrome and refresh the page. Besides from that, is there a way to make it load every song on a playlist? Youtube by default only loads 200 songs but with my playlist of over 1,000 it doesn't work as well. Thanks though, this is the only extension that actually works.

- It works as described but I use youtube playlists mostly for music so whenever I press shuffle it'll take me to an unavailable screen and play whatever was next in the playlist without keeping shuffle on so the song after that one would be the next one ordered in the playlist.

- It actually randomizes the video. It leaps through a playlist like it should. However, for some reason it keeps saying that a video is unavailable when it isn't.

- Not great for ambient listening as it doesn't shuffle on the song end, but does it's job well enough otherwise.
