- (2025-06-28) Phil Dold: As an IT manager for years, this is the greatest approach I have ever seen to content filtering. The concept of protecting the young internet users from the harmful stuff while allowing them to use their agency (hero's choice) on the rabbit hole distractions and questionable content is ingenious. It does away with the costly subscriptions and updates to filter lists. It is deceptively easy to use and administer once I stop trying to make it complicated. I love that it protects personal privacy while allowing for a parent or mentor to have access to key choices the student makes. This has provided wonderful teaching opportunities. The features provided for administering within a classroom setting are really valuable considering the time consuming challenge of protecting the students while allowing access to the tremendous resources available on the net. I am going to recommend it to all who have young family members learning to use the Internet. Way to go, Hero Shield!
