Canvas Fingerprint Defender
Defending against Canvas fingerprinting by reporting a fake value.
Canvas Fingerprint Defender is a lite extension that lets you easily hide your real canvas fingerprint by reporting a random fake value.
According to many tech blogs, completely blocking canvas fingerprints is not a good idea, therefore reporting a "fake" fingerprint could be the best solution to better protect your privacy. This addon simply adds a small noise to the actual fingerprint and "renews" it every time you visit a website or reload a page. It is important to note that, it does not have any settings or options to adjust. Simply add it to your browser and start surfacing the internet. If you want to test this addon, please visit a website that shows your fingerprint (i.e. browserleaks). Every time you reload the page, you will see a new fake fingerprint.

no use at all
If you are using Brave browser like I am this does more harm than good. Brave (and lots of other browsers) has built in randomization, so adding an extension just makes your fingerprint stand out. If you are unsure, you can test your results at coveryourtracks.com
I spent TWO DAYS debugging my project because of this extension! Every image I drew on a canvas it was getting random colour tints. I was about to throw my pc out the window. Turns out, Canvas Fingerprint Defender was the cause of the issue. Disabled it, and poof - problem solved. This extension might be fine for privacy, but the side effects should be mentioned clearly. Save yourself the headache and disable it while coding.
Don't be mislead by the sophist comments! Despite an "update" in April 2023, this date doesn't represent an update. It means Google's terms have been updated. Check your old version and the latest, it'll be the same. This extension doesn't do anything. Don't let the sophists mislead you further. I confirmed with many different fingerprinting sites . To elaborate further, CFD doesn't prevent sites from knowing what extensions I have, CPU I'm using, RAM, GPU, speakers, etc. Basically all the characteristics a browser leaks without anti-fingerprinting. Furthermore, this extension is abandoned and it simply doesn't work. Full stop. Sadly, the only working extension has now been infected with malware and adware. It took Google more than 3 months to finally remove it after an overwhelming number of flags/complaints. If you want anti-fingerprinting, considering using another browser like Brave or modified Firefox.
Have to deactivate the extension everytime i need to do a cloudflare captcha since a couple days. Besides that, great extension.
Got problems using this extension while visiting websites under CloudFlare protection: infinite loop of "Verifying if you are human or not".

Essa extensão não está fazendo o que promete. Funcionava antes, agora não funciona mais. Eu testei muito usando o site " deviceinfo.me ".
I'm really disappointed now, as this has been by go to tool, for the past 2yrs now. None of the plugins work now: The Font defender, WebGL defender, AudioContext and Canva defender. They're all not working anymore. Please work on this ASAP.
It doesn't work really. It doesn't prevent sites from knowing what extensions I have, CPU I'm using, RAM, GPU, speakers, etc. I'm using another fingerprint manager like "Fingerprint Spoofing" which is ~95% effective (as tested on privacy websites that test for fingerprinting).

Funktioniert bei Chrom nicht auf manchen Seiten, während unter Firfox und Edge auf den selben Seiten schon. Nicht erklärbar.

It doesn't work. It gives fancy notifications but in reality it doesn't work. It hasn't been updated in more than two years, it's obsolete and unsupported.

Can validate that it works and provides unique Canvas via EFF tool CoverYourTracks in addition to BrowserLeaks and AmIUnique. On developer site, there were some trackers but running pakcet and tracker tracing, there are none coming from the extension itself as is stated in the privacy policy. I was skeptical when I saw them come up from developer's website but was able to validate extension is 100% clean and does exactly what it is supposed to do.Only takes 15MB - 35MB of memory to run which in terms of Chrome and other Chromium based browsers, is a very low overhead for something adding another layer of privacy and security.

Tested at https://browserleaks.com/canvas I like that this is a one-exploit fix instead of a plugin claiming to spoof all forms of user fingerprinting, since new methods of that come up all the time. It's better to be certain that you have a particular weakness patched up because you have an extension that corresponds to it exactly, than to go without preventing a leak because you assumed it was included in some catchall extension but it wasn't. PS: Anyone who cannot figure out that they can click on the extension's icon and pick "Show|Hide desktop notifications" simply doesn't DESERVE to use this extension. Heh. Really, the developer should just turn this option off by default, since it's obviously the only thing causing unhappy feedback.

Not a lot of options apart from notifications and activation/deactivation but works well. Its not supposed to make your fingerprint not unique but does deceive a lot of sites

It's not cutomizable at all and doesn't work for classical canvas tracking https://fingerprintjs.com/demo Uninstalled, doesnt do its job but it's free I can't blame, I'll review this later
