NOTE: kwitty is not maintained any more. Though you could continue to use it, but no more fixes or features will be added. The official client TweetDeck is suggested to use instead.
kwitty is a local, simple and tab based twitter web application for chrome.
Features:
* Sign in with OAuth or API proxy.
* Official retweet or quote style RT.
* Click to show one level reply inline.
* Expand shortened URLs and show rich content (photo, video etc.) inline.
* Compact view in a window.
* 24 kinds of timeline themes.
* Background customization.
* Export/Backup tweets.
Options/Settings: Right click the app start icon, in the popup menu.

- Does what it says it does, but no more. No search, no lists, no trending, and you have to wait for a hastag to show up in your timeline to follow it. Frankly, I'm at a loss to explain all the rave reviews. If you like Twitter with FEWER features, this is for you. Can't imagine why you would, though.

- I got this Chrome extension because I wanted to use the compact window. After installing and launching it in Chrome, I couldn't see anyway of launching it in a compact window, nor is there any link to a help file. I can't see what the others are raving about - to me it's just like viewing a normal wall on Twitter. I'll revise my rankings if I am wrong about the above.

- Yeah this isn't bad actually! The only problem is with it, you haven't got a search box for finding people to add or follow? News feeds in general are brilliantly set out like the normal Twitter, just that one missing feature gives it a bit of a disappointment.

- I like this app too. Simple to see, delivers new tweets quickly, and mostly I love it how you can customize it for yourself. And more things I really like about this app; you can retweet, favourite and delete swiftly with just clicking one button. Also, you can see on each user's accounts how many tweets on average that user tweets a day. Plus you can see which of your tweets were retweeted by other people, and etc. Lot's of tools and features you can't have on the twitter web.

- I really love this app. I had no idea it was this powerful until I read the help. The minimalist gui is deceiving. This client can do a lot without visual overload. Do yourself a favor and read the help after installing. There are some great themes and the 'tweet input box' is like the Google awesome bar. It does much more than you first realize. Search tweets for hash words, find users, send DM's, all within the input box.

- My favorite twitter application, hands down. It simply does what I want it to do: let me see my feed, nice and big, and have photos and videos embedded into the feed. I only wish there was an app of this for my iPad!

- The best current alternative to the larger clients. Tweetdeck recently removed the native/traditional retweet feature and this is my replacement. I'm concerned about a lack of search but as I can just open Twitter & do so, it's not as crippling as being unable to manually retweet. Fri, Apr 27th, 2012: KWITTY is no longer functional in my Chrome Browser.
