Dynamic URL Redirector
Redirector automatically redirects URLs from one site to another based on rules you define. Once a rule is active, every time you visit a matching URL, you're instantly sent to the destination — no extra clicks needed.
COMMON USE CASES
• Always use Old Reddit instead of the redesign
• Switch Google search results to DuckDuckGo
• Skip tracking redirects (email click-tracking links) and go straight to the real destination
• Redirect deprecated tool URLs to their replacements
QUICK START — Your first rule in 30 seconds
Let's redirect reddit.com → old.reddit.com:
1. Click the Redirector icon in your toolbar — the options page opens
2. Click "Add Rule"
3. Fill in the two fields:
Match URL: ^https://www.reddit.com/(.*)
Redirect To: https://old.reddit.com/$1
4. (Optional) Paste a test URL like https://www.reddit.com/r/cats to verify the result
5. Click "Add" — done!
How the pattern works:
• ^https://www.reddit.com/ matches the beginning of any Reddit URL
• (.*) captures everything after the domain (e.g. r/cats)
• $1 in Redirect To inserts that captured part into the new URL
That's the basic idea: match a URL, capture the parts you need, build a new URL with them.
MORE EXAMPLES
Redirect Google search to DuckDuckGo:
Match URL: ^https://www.google.com/search\?q=(.*?)&.*$
Redirect To: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=$1
Skip email click-tracking redirects:
Match URL: https://click.redditmail.com/CL0/(.*)
Redirect To: {{$1|decodeURIComponent}}
KEY FEATURES
• Create redirect rules using regex or URL Pattern syntax
• Enable, disable, reorder, and test rules with real-time feedback
• Import/export rules as JSON to back up or share with others
• Supports pipeline transformations (URL decoding, base64 decoding)
• Keyboard shortcut Alt+Shift+O to navigate back to the original URL before redirect
PRIVACY
All rules are processed locally. This extension does not collect or transmit any user data.

- I would have loved to use this, unfortunately this chrome extension is so far from being user friendly that I tried for over 30 minutes to get it to work on a very simple non-programmer related task but I never got it to work as I had intended it to. Make it more user friendly. Also I will be using the Kirby Extension instead of this one because there is no way for me to figure this out without wanting to stick the 4 pronged kitchen utensil into the wall socket in the process. The Kirby Extension is similar to this extension and is not actually named that it just has it on one of the pics. Hopefully I won't have to tinker with that one since it should come pre-build with what I need. I think that I pray that the fandom CEO goes to the golden gate bridge and uses Talon E. TL;DR below: do NOT use this unless you are a programmer or is willing to bash your head against a wall till it works. For this extension's developer: Either make your thing easier to use or make a VERY extensive guide, not some dinky ahh YT Video or a pic. The idea is good but is gated behind user experience. And NO, do not ask me to submit feedback in some discord or elswhere, this review has all you need, you can even pay for testers who are non-technical or bring your laptop to your grandma, I am sure she would love the company since you never call her, now go fix the issue. The issue is specifically that only SOME users (the programmers and such) can use it and therefore it has a critical flaw for most of the users who wants to use something like this. If you make it easy to use for the non-technical demographic I might change this review and it's score of 1 star, currently I would have given it 0 stars or even -99999 if I could.

- Does not work on Chrome 109 on Win 7
- Hi
- this is very very very good. i use it to force me to do flashcards every time i go to instagram. but whatd make it better is if it could disable the rules after a time you set, like itd force you to go to the redirected website for 10 minutes and then you could use the website for another set amount of time, id become a genius with this

- Works well for regular redirects. But it is redirecting even when the "from" url is present in lets say a google search. For example, if I have set reddit to be redirected to some abc url, and later when i google search for something and search results contain a reddit link, that google search page itself is being redirected to abc url. This is not the expected behaviour. Can you please fix this? Edit: Thanks for the reply. I've put regex now (`^https?://(?:www\.)?reddit\.com(?:/r/|/?$)`) and that seems to be working. Will disabling preload feature if it persists.

- A very useful tool. Found this one after the OG Redirector app. Joined discord support server to ask a few questions, developer gave me quick help. Everything one can ask for, modern UI, responsive highly performing app, and enthusiastic active Dev.

- Does exactly what it says, perfect!

- When using the browser's history back after being redirected, you get redirected again. Could you consider adding an option that would prevent that? Maybe replacing the "From" page in the browser's history with the target one.

- Works for a while but you have to add the SAME INSTRUCTION AGAIN TO HAVE IT WORK

- The UI is super clean and easy to learn. You might consider adding a few more features, and I have two pieces of advice,1.offering two examples may be more helpful 2.show notification when a rule is triggered

- This is the best redirect extension that I have tried. It is a bit hard to figure out if you dont know regex (same for all the other redirect extensions) but you can search/ask for help in the Discord.

- Absolutely love this extension. I used it for quite a long while until the Manifest 3 requirement. But really happy it is fully updated now and back on the store !! Huge kudos on the UI improvements too !

- literally the best redirector extension in the time of writing this review

- I have used other similar extensions before, but this one stands out different mainly for 3 reasons, 1. Open source 2. Supports Regular expression as well as URLPattern (which is robust and more efficient than RegEx) for redirection rule 3. Hardly have I ever seen such a humble developer who not only just addresses any issue proactively but also very eager to implement new ideas. Surely this one will become popular soon as the extension is getting polished with new features day by day.

- Thanks for the new update to 0.7.0. This problem has been resolved! ----- It's a GREAT extension! But I have one complaint. Often, the extension fails to replace URLs when the site takes a long time to load. This did not happen with another extension of the same name. e.g. site: autosport web (Japanese site) https://www.as-web.jp/ ----- Regex rules: (https://www\.as-web\.jp/[-\w !#\$%&'\(\)\*\+,\.:;=?]+/[0-9]{7})(?!(\?all|/)) -> $1?all (https://www\.as-web\.jp/[-\w !#\$%&'\(\)\*\+,\.:;=?]+/[0-9]{6})(?!(\?all|[0-9]|/)) -> $1?all ==== Another extension (v2): Redirector https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/redirector/pajiegeliagebegjdhebejdlknciafen

- This is perfect. It works every time! It would be useful to see more examples, however I was able to achieve what I needed via the shadow-text google -> duckduckgo example. ^https://myorg.visualstudio.com/(.*)$ -> https://dev.azure.com/myorg/$1
- king37
- it stopped working, always redirects to only the domain without page-path from src url

- Worked like a charm. Now I can ban most of the sites I dislike and redirect them to something more useful Same for sites that put up paywalls and give you no free albeit limited access... you know who you are! I wish I was more knowledgeable in regular expression syntax, but thankfully even a basic site-i-dont-like.com can be redirected to site-i-like.com with a simple and straightforward rule. Been looking for something similar for a while and I am glad I eventually found it! :)

- Works great!
