(2024-10-14) Kevin: A good extension, but it does have a tendency to get homonyms wrong. For example, the sentence "He never looked back" became "He nunca looked espalda." The word espalda means back, as in the part of your body. However, in this context, the appropriate word would be atrás, meaning back as in behind. The full sentence is "nunca miró hacia atrás".

(2024-07-16) Deacon: Very useful if you're at an intermediate level with a language and you want to learn new vocabulary, but not especially useful if you are at the beginning and still learning how the language works. Learning new words in isolation like this is not terribly helpful if you're still new to understanding how sentences are constructed. Would be a lot more useful if it could translate an entire sentence. Also, you can't complete the progress tasks because there's no info on the site about any sort of Premium plan (the link just goes to your account settings) and the FAQ and Contact Us links go to broken pages. Great concept and has potential but current state makes it of limited value until you're further along in your learning.

However, it keeps translating words for an advanced level; I'm mostly busy deleting words and phrases they keep translating, although I have no use for them, such as "political career". I can hardly add any new words to the ones I want to learn or remember. There is no option to add words by oneself; one can only wait that they, by chance, to translate a word that could be useful.

(2022-10-07) Hilda: Just like another reviewer said, this has such a smooth easy transition to learn key phrases while seamlessly surfing the web. I honestly wish I knew about this sooner... they should have advertised it more or something. I only knew about it when I downloaded the dark reader extension. I like how there's the option to take a break and hit pause - unlike in duolingo, I don't think there's that option which is why there's the 'meme' of the mascot annoying you 24/7 in notifications lol. 😂 All in all, I and everyone else who has experienced this extension greatly appreciate the work that has been done to make this learning experience possible over the net. You can see the context of the words and overtime learn lots of vocabulary which is key to learning words in the long term. I really wish I knew of this sooner, kudos to the team for the extension/app!! 😃😁🎉💗💗 This reminds me of the app "drops" but even better since it's more than 5 minutes, and can virtually learn many more.
(2022-09-10) Brandon: This is a really fun and slick way of introducing a new language into everyday tasks. That being said, I think the fact that Russian isn't a language option blew it for me. I will use the extension more when Russian is included. WE NEED MORE LANGUAGE OPTIONS!

(2022-07-27) Bill: There are dozens of browser add-ins that claim to do what Toucan does, but most of them barely don't work or don't work at all, and NONE of them have the polish, depth, and visually attractive user experience as Toucan. Also, it's not enough to recognize individual words - you have to recognize phrases. I'm highly incented to consider the premium offerings because as someone who's learning Italian, it's great to see words in context and be able to recognize what they mean. I also use it on my iOS devices and it's great there too. Great experience.

It allows you to also be able to block sites and adjust how much translation you like on the page. While the App is still developing, the team is so welcoming! I have talked to the CEO of Toucan, and she is so open to ideas and feedback! Overall, a great app and flock team! Also, a cute mascot.

(2022-06-15) David: Straight up does not work when it encounters a hyperlink. It will translate the word to whatever language you're trying to learn but when you hover over the link you can't get the translation. Google News was the site in question.
