Purple AdBlock is a video ad-blocker for Twitch.tv. The extension uses an external proxy in an ad-free country, only video requests are sent through this proxy to retrieve an ad-free, full quality stream.
The extension does not collect or store your personal information and is opensource.

- (2024-11-13) Joey Bisson: Sure, it buffers from time to time, but I'd rather that than stare at an animated purple wall for three minutes against my will. So many other adblockers are far worse or don't work at all. If this ever gets fixed, it'll be amazing.

- (2024-09-18) Fabrizio Vitello: On 2024/09/17, Twitch has changed (again, as it does every year around this time) the systems for sending ADs. Unfortunately, this time there’s a twist: with an addon enabled, the stream remains stuck on a black screen! I suppose that, once again, we’ll have to wait about a month, so patience and support!

- (2024-09-02) Lea Shadav: Doesn't really work...still get the preroll ads at the start of a stream and then 90% of the time when an ad starts the stream either lags out or crashes and I have to reload the page making this unfortunately useless...I mean 10% of the time it does work, so that's why I'm giving it 2 stars. Hopefully they will update this and get it up and working correctly again.
- (2024-08-18) MM Miller: Doesn't work anymore. Pre-roll ads show constantly. Also frequently causes streams to buffer & pause until you refresh the page, which then forces more ads. 8/18/2024 - Prerolls still show the majority of the time. Ad's start looping after a period of time if the chrome tab is left in the background (tabbed out)

- (2024-07-04) Antti: Doesn't work anymore, doesn't disable either. After about a minute the player hangs and doesn't resume until refresh, a new skipped ad and repeat. Whitelisting channel literally doesn't work, only disabling the whole extension.
- (2024-06-14) Steven Stretton: Used to work really well, however I find now that it will block the ads, but the stream will freeze or buffer for long periods of time. Hope they can release a new working version soon!

- (2024-05-15) Matt Diomede: Does seem to work decently well. Ads will sometimes start then 5 seconds later they will close and return to the stream. I was having problems with my streams just freezing every 10 mins or so and having to pause/resume them to return to watching. I saw a review and someone said to disable ublock origin so I disabled it on twitch and now I'm not having the freezing issue. Working the best it has in weeks.
