Make your Google Voice page a little better.
Adds useful tweaks to your Google Voice page. Currently adds a new call/message/voicemail counter to the page icon and title, as well as keep the page up to date in the background.

google voice, for almost a decade now i have used it. the web interface has remained abysmal and outdated for whatever reason. but this dev at least provided us all a glimmer of hope and usefulness with this great extension. the ability to see your unread count is unvaluable in your tabs. thanks for the work!
Does what it claims to do well. I was frankly surprised a notification icon was missing from the tab. Only suggestion would be to add a configuration to allow showing a simple red "dot" if there's any unread items (similar to Google Chat). It stands out much better.
This provides a Minor tweak. What i would really like to see is better "sync" between contacts, text messages and calls. IT is really choppy in the native GV interface. IT's like they are all separate and do not really work together as one. Would like to see the text/SMS/MMS functionality improved and work with contacts and call history, etc. IT is a very frustrating thing to find history of text messages for a contact - too many steps to get the full history when searching by name or by a keyword, etc. Probably the "BIG G" is going to let this die, along with many other features and tools, etc. It is an indication when they STOP improving and allow it to "degrade" instead of adding features or other enhancements. I wonder if it would work better on a Google phone...?
Does something. If I get 1 message from 1 number its counts as 1 on the counter. If I get more messages from the same number the counter just stays at 1 instead of counting up. Did not add counter to app version on taskbar. I use the install as chrome app function(upper right corner of address bar in google chrome when on the voice.google.com page). This installs google voice as an app to your PC. I was hoping this extension would put a counter on and highlight the windows taskbar icon. overall meh. Good idea. Pretty niche use, maybe hard to justify the work to make it do more.

Obsolete. Suspect it only worked with Legacy, which is now defunct. Does absolutely nothing anymore. No flags, no nothing.

Hi all, noticing that this is no longer supported, I copied this extension's favicon badge notification feature and updated it to work with the new voice.google.com. I'm sure there are still bugs but you are welcome to use it. It's called "Google Voice Notify Badge" and it's available at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-voice-notify-badge/dchigmbbeifnmincahdndhbiolkkmdjc (PS - Happy to take the new extension down upon author's request)

It worked perfectly when I downloaded it months ago, but just recently the counter no longer goes up no matter how many messages I get. So months ago it was a 5 star download, today, not so much. Giving it three and if it starts working again I'll see if I can up it. I know there have been a lot of updates to voice recently, could be related.

USELESS APPLICATION! Does not work whatsoever on my desktop. I could have had a V-8 and would have certainly had a better experience.

I love this extension for the background refresh feature. I'm a big Google Voice user and I constantly have the tab open in Chrome. This is a nice extension that does what it says without hogging up CPU.
