Description from store Reader View extension brings Mozilla's open-source Readability implantation to Chromium. Using this extension you can strip clutters from webpages and read them on "Reader View" mode. The extension allows you to toggle between normal view and reader view by pressing the page-action button. Note that reader view mode works best for web pages that have a lot of content. There are some tools in the left side panel that can help you personalize your Reader View. You can change color, background-color, font-size, font-family and width of the reader view. (2024-12-25) Blake: I love this extension. It is awesome, except for one thing that gives me a bit of aggravation, which is that the grey icon for it is by far the most dull of the 10 extensions beside my address bar. Consequently, despite utilizing it the most of my extensions, it is the most difficult to visually scan for and click on. All icons of my other extensions are in lively colors and/or shapes; they stand out and are instantaneously recognizable. I simply wish the dull grey of the Reader View icon were changed to at least a bolder color. That's the only reason for the 4 stars not being 5. Despite that one annoyance, the combined functionality of Reader View and greater editing capabilities than others, makes this extension superior to the 6 or 7 others I've taken a look at.
(2024-11-14) Mark: It is impossible to use. The program cuts out all photos (pictures, illustrations) in the "reading" mode and prints the PDF file. (2020-08-14) Shinn,: Though the text defaults are less than ideal (I prefer larger font and more spacing), they're easy to change. Unlike the current top-rated extension in this category (Reading Mode), this one features the use of the extension icon as a toggle button, which is easily my most important feature. Also, if you're looking for a dark mode, this one matches Edge's dark mode theme, unlike the other one. Nicely customizable. I like this even better than Vivaldi's reader view.
(2020-06-08) Brandi: Filled with so many useful features but doesn't at all feel cluttered, this is such a useful app for me. It really helps to convert webpages into a more readable form that isn't endlessly cluttered with useless content or adds. I'm a really big fan of the edit mode, where you can directly edit the text in Reader View, and also really happy with the read aloud option. My only complaint is that while there's a lot of option for voices in the read aloud, not all of them seem to work very well. I didn't take off a star though since it was just for testing, and the ones that I want to use worked perfectly. Thank you for this add on
