Mendeley Web Importer detects article identifiers on the page you are viewing and automatically retrieves metadata and PDF full texts (where available) for you to add to your library. You just need to be viewing an article or a list of references in the browser and click on the Mendeley Web Importer extension icon in the toolbar.

You'll need a Mendeley account to save, read and cite the articles you import. To sign up and receive 2GB free storage space, visit https://www.mendeley.com

Here are a few issues encountered post update: 1. The word plugin is gone which gave the advantage of selection of multiple papers. 2. In Mendeley cite, no option to do multiple selection in one go makes the process time consuming. 3. Most importantly in google scholar the web importer extension is not showing all the publications listed on the page. The irony is that the features that once made it a highly efficient citation tool are gradually disappearing over time. Looking forward to further improvements.

Never works on Edge, partially works on chrome, cannot detect the DOI from online pdf version of paper. Have to add references manually half of the time. Cannot distinguish between Journal and conference paper

Cuando funciona, es medianamente útil porque agrega directamente la liga a Mendeley Desktop. Pero la edición de la información se tiene que hacer en Desktop. De repente ya no funciona y DEFINITIVAMENTE no detecta automáticamente la información en la fuente para completar el registro. Al final uno tiene que hacer el trabajo a mano.

Really non-functional. A couple of weeks trying to make it work on simple PDFs and web articles and nothing.... Maybe one out of 10 articles load successfully. It used to be quite good but now detracts from using Mendeley.
