• (2025-08-10) Sean: Apple's support for Windows is just awful. Yes I suppose this app "mostly" fills in passwords, but that's about it: it fails to recognize half the login screens/prompts that I get, it doesn't have any configurable rules for password creation that I can find (i.e., characters to use/omit, length, quantity of capitals/numerals/etc.), and *IT CANNOT IMPORT/EXPORT LISTS*. Yes, nothing like having to manually type a hundred account credentials into an "automated" utility. What garbage.
• (2025-07-31) Sorensen,: I'm not sure I would say the extension is unstable, it does have a learning curve, but I can assure you it works and without problems that I have seen. The only quirk I feel it has, is if you use Passwords to manage 2FA OTP codes, it takes a couple seconds before it populates for you to fill them. Outside of that, I have had zero issues with the app in the past 5 months of usage.

Damit wird der iCloud-Passwortmanager zwar attraktiver, aber im Vergleich zu anderen Anbietern noch lange nicht alltagstauglich. Hier muss Apple deutlich nachbessern – dann wäre er nahezu perfekt!

• (2025-06-07) John: Seems to work so far, I was pulling my hair out because it kept telling me to download iCloud for Windows even though it was set up. I followed the instructions in the review by Justin and it worked like a charm. I didn't delete and reinstall the app, just started with closing edge, then turning off passwords and keychain and going from there. I do have photos and files enabled and it still worked fine finally. I haven't figured out a way if there is one to generate a strong password on the fly without opening the passwords app and since I just started i haven't yet tried to autofill but i'll update my review if I encounter any issues.
• (2025-06-05) Justin: Works, but is tempermental. Here's what I do to get it working everytime I install windows. Download iCloud from MS Store and in setup just enable the Passwords (photo, files, bookmarks are disabled) When setup finishes close Edge browser (if open), open iCloud app and click on "Passwords and Keychain". TURN IT OFF. doesn't seem to matter if "Microsoft Edge (Default) extension is still installed. Click done and [X] at the top-right. Re-open iCloud app. Now reverse previous steps to turn "Passwords and Keychain" to ON. Click Done and then click "View in iCloud Passwords App". When that's open, Edge extension should work.
• (2025-06-04) Kyle: Worked fine for the months and months that I had it, and suddenly, like so many others are saying, I'm being prompted to download iCloud for Windows, which is already installed! Major disconnect here. Unfortunately, doesn't affect Apple's bottom line, so probably won't get fixed, but it should! Seems to have been broken for some for over a month!

• (2025-05-17) Kent: It doesn't work. The iCloud Password icon in the task bar is crossed out. When I click on the icon to try and enable the extension, it keeps asking me to download iCloud for Windows which is already installed on my laptop. Works great in Chrome on the same computer.
• (2025-05-16) Steve: 1) This extention assume I want to use Passwords from the local machine. I want to access my other profile Passwords. Allow profiles! Prompt Me for Login to my other Apple ID! 2) Passwords for Windows requires access to Windows Hello (security features) for PIN and Biometrics, etc. However, this should not be a requirement for use in my opinion. An option to use these security features ok but, not required in order to setup and simply authenticate to Apple iCloud and use your stored passwords in a Browser extension. No other commercial password manager requires this on a Windows 10 or 11 (for example) machine, why does Apple restrict and limit itself to this. Allow it to be used via Edge or Google on a Windows machine w/o all the local machine security integration. It just needs to be like LastPass, BitWarden, 1Password, etc. etc. and allow the user to authenticate to the cloud secure store to get a password and then if enabled use 2FA to prove its you accessing it... move on.
• (2025-05-14) James: When attempting to autofill or access saved passwords, the extension throws multiple net::ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND errors in DevTools for the following files: -utils.js -extensionState.js -heuristicsRedefinitions.js The console reports that these files are being requested from: chrome-extension://mfbcdcnpokpoajjciilocoachedjkima/ However, after checking the extension folder at %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Extensions, these files are missing from the package entirely. I've already: -Reinstalled both the Edge extension and iCloud for Windows -Cleared the extension folder manually -Verified permissions and antivirus exclusions This appears to be a packaging issue with the latest version of the extension. Please fix!
• (2025-05-10) casey: I've been using this for a long time, and it has worked great until today (5/8/25 @ 5:51 AM CST). Now, whether it's an issue with Edge or Apple, I'm not sure—but suddenly, it's asking me to download it again, even though it's already installed. I even went ahead and uninstalled and reinstalled it from both the Microsoft Store and Edge Add-ons, but I'm still getting the same prompt. I hope you all can fix this soon! If you do, I'll be happy to update my review.
• (2025-05-10) Tobias: Kann die negativen Kommentare nicht nachvollziehen, Funktioniert traumhaft gut. Ich hatte noch nie Probleme, dass Passwörter nicht befüllt werden. Ist ne echt gute Lösung um Passwörter aus der Icloud auf Windows nutzen zu können. Nur das Passwort speichern ist etwas kompliziert aber zum glück ist das ja eine Funktion die man eher seltener braucht.
• (2025-05-09) Todd: Its nice to have passwords synced, but the functionality is often lacking. For instance, many times it will prompt with a list of passwords, then fail to fill anything after you choose one. Oddly, navigating to the iClouds Passwords extension at the top of the browser window will also bring up the same list of passwords, except choosing those actually will fill the password correctly. It comes off a bit half-baked.

Follwoing a recently Windows update, the login information is no longer populating atuomaticially, which pretty much defeats the purpose of a password manager. Thanks a lot, Windows. I cannot wait until I can afford to leave Swinedoes entirely and move to a more stable platform that links effortlessly with my iPad and iPhone. Hopefully the debs for this app will be able to figure out what MS broke and make a repair before then.

• (2025-03-23) Bishoy: Every time you use edge, you will have to re-enable iCloud passwords by entering the 6 digit code from iCloud. This has been a problem for several years now so it seems Apple has intentionally ignored the problem to make it more inconvenient to use a windows computer.
• (2025-03-15) Daniel: Schrott. Kompliziert und fehlerbehaftet. Bei jedem Passwort muss zuerst ein Einmalcode aus icloud abgetippt werden, dann die Windowspin. Und danach füllt er nichtmal automatisch die Passwörter aus. Enter-Taste funktioniert nicht zum bestätigen des Passworts.

• (2025-01-25) [email protected]: Bank of America icloud password popup is barely visible (too dark). Using latest Win11 and MS Edge. Removed extension, changed to default screen and theme and rebooted. Reinstalled ext with same problem.
• (2025-01-06) Alton: Extension works just fine, but unfortunately I believe there's a bug to where the little box doesn't pop up under the textbox when going to fill in a username/password. I have to manually click the extension, at which point it recognizes the site and gives me the account/credentials to click on. It's almost as if the extension isn't recognizing that the username/password textbox fields are actually asking for credentials. Works fine on another mac, however, and both are signed into Edge with my account and all extensions/settings are synchronized, so I kind of doubt it's a setting that's causing the extension to malfunction, but I could be wrong.
