Description from store Rapid Quality Check for Academic Journals in Google Scholar Search Results This Chrome extension displays an academic journal's (and some conference's) rankings next to search results from Google Scholar. This also works for scholar profile pages on Google Scholar and other subpages (e.g. cited by, etc.). A variety of rankings are available for the user to choose from (SJR, ABDC, ABS, VHB, FT50, CORE, ...). These are interdisciplinary (e.g., SJR, BFI), focused on economics/social sciences (e.g., ABDC, VHB, ...), or focused on computer science journals/conferences (CORE, CCF). Hovering your cursor over the ranking gives you additional information such as the name of the journal and its h-index. Clicking on the "+" (if available) gives you additional rankings; those that you have not pre-selected. Via the extension's icon (which you can pin) you can also access a search bar to enter a journal name and get the ranking. • (2025-07-10) Pratham Hullamballi: Very useful extension and will be looking forward to further improvements! I've seen this extension claiming some papers to be associated to a journal even if it is not published on any; if you could fix it, it'd be great.
  • (2025-07-09) Dr. Soumya Prakash Patra: it lists cloned journals such as International insurance law review as Q1. no authenticity check.
  • (2025-06-30) Nikhil M N: Everything is fine, but Scopus quartiles are wrong. Kindly rectify this asap.
  • (2025-04-18) Sajib Acharjee Dip: There is a problem with the literature search. It mapped one of my papers with another paper because there was some similar keyword in the title.
  • (2025-03-27) Phat Nguyen Thanh: exceleent
  • (2025-03-03) Apoorva Joshi: This tool is extremely helpful and fantastic. However, please update the database because there is a discrepancy in journal ranking.

  • (2025-02-24) SP: Undoubtedly an amazing tool to understand the quality of a journal.
  • (2025-01-28) Q Q: wonderful tool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • (2024-12-07) Digvijay Samir: A useful tool for quickly assessing journal quality while exploring research papers. However, the quality index lists need more frequent updates, as many seem outdated. Developers are encouraged to incorporate the latest sources, and I am happy to assist with authentic references of journal quality lists, if needed.
  • (2024-11-19) Taewoo Roh: It is the perfect extension for scholars who want to improve their knowledge of the Journal's quality. A small request for the team is to update the AJG 2024!
  • (2024-10-30) Hariyono Darmawan: just today I got a reading error, the article should not be in Q2 because the journal is "Jurnal Bisnis dan Pembangunan" but when I looked at the Q2 icon, it turned out to read the journal "economica" which is a local sub-journal, the article was incorrectly ranked Scopus by RJQC
  • (2024-09-04) Pedro Paulo: One of the best extensions ever known to man. Keep the hard work guys, it helps a lot.
  • (2024-08-03) ELQarar القرار: The study link is not activated in addition to the summary, Please keep updating the database. We don't have to see journal quality lists back and forth saving us a lot of time. Thank you team.
  • (2024-07-19) Sumit Manderna: Please keep updating the database. We don't have to see journal quality lists back and forth saving us a lot of time. Thank you team.
  • (2024-07-15) Sachin Malik: Firstly, hats off to the developers for such an useful tool. secondly please update the rankings from time to time, for example for the journal "Management review quarterly" ABDC shows "NA", but in real, it is ranked "C". Thanks in advance, I hope these changes are made for the improvement of this "supertool".
  • (2024-06-24) Nguyễn Thành Đạt B21DCVT119: Thank you, you saved me
  • (2024-06-08) Sushil Kumar Pare: It is good idea. Very helpful. However there are small challanges such as in case of "Economic and Political Weekly" B on ABDC but is not listed. The link on EPW would lend at Higher Education Abstract(https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/hea.12103_23).
  • (2024-05-07) Sophie: Really helpful! Will you be updating the VHB Rankings as there is a new version that recently came out? How will you deal with the partial (topic-specific) ratings they provide if a journal has different ratings in different research areas?
  • (2024-04-29) Dr Mita Mehta: It is showing personnel review - emerald journal in Q2 where as it is in Q1 and it has many glitches
  • (2024-02-28) Niroj Dahal: Thank you for consolidating all the SJR (Scimago Journal & Country Rank) into a single venture. Your work is commendable! However, there are still several tasks to address, including fixing issues related to the ranking of non-ranked articles and ensuring proper hyperlinks between different articles. Recently, I noticed that the quick summary of articles categorized as % Q1, %Q2, %Q3, and N/A has disappeared. As a suggestion, instead of displaying ‘N/A,’ consider coding it as empty.
  • (2024-02-27) M Nadeem Zafar: It make google scholar more valuable. Much helpful. How we can get summary of Q ranking papers of a researcher, like how much % Q1, how much % Q2 etc.
  • (2024-02-23) Arvind Sharma: A useful tool for researchers.
  • (2024-01-29) sudhir rana: ABDC List and SJR are still the old ones. Please update the journal latest ABDC list. Moreover, I see that getting on a list shows some quality over others. But, still showing a journal as red color (those that have a low ranking such as AJG 1, or ABDC - C, creates negative image of the journal which is unfair). Hence, the color scheme should be planned in a way that it does not create negative image of the journals that are already on the lists.
  • (2024-01-23) Sophos Chea: Scientific Journal Ranking is good but should based on WoS more. I saw the other ranking are for business, economic, and computer science. It will be more interesting if you add more ranking for engineering field. One more thing is Impact Factor adding.
  • (2024-01-07) Waqas Ahmed: It takes data from Scimago page where discontinued journals also showing Q1,Q2 quartiles and this also indicate same without verification.. not reliable for Scimago and Also there is no ranking for the Web of Science metrices ... use with cautions
  • (2024-01-07) Ruggiero Lovreglio: Very good tool! However, it will be great to link it to the Scopus Journal Metrics as the are public too.
  • (2024-01-06) Rohani Rohan: The current version is good as it can help recognize the quality of an article based on the rankings/quartiles. However, it would be great to also include WoS rankings.
  • (2024-01-06) Abhishek Gupta: Works. Charming.
  • (2024-01-06) Ihsan Bemba: It's helpful for searching qualified journal while writing academic and scientific articles, make it faster and easier
  • (2024-01-04) Subburaj Alagarsamy: I think the databases need to updated, particularly the www.scimagojr.com. Also, good to include Web of Science indexing.

  • (2023-12-22) Bashar M. Nema: Dear how can i add it to view on mobile (iOS or Others)?
  • (2023-12-08) Ubaid Ali: Sometimes confuse a journal with another one. For example a paper by an author in "Journal of islamic banking and finance" is assingned the ranking of "Economic modelling" or a paper in Pakistan social and economic reviw is ranked as European economic review. Do anyone have the idea how it can be fixed? Thanks
