Every day I receive notices that I need to buy some extra Norton feature. It is money, money, money. I will be changing. I need a company that once your purchase they are good to their word. Norton ads interrupt projects I'm working on askign for money money. Noooo. I'm getting lose from this company. I just had to click off a Norton ad so I could finish this sentence.

I agree with the point of complaints from all of those who have given a one 1 star recension. Those people who have given 5 star recension and doesn't voice any complain are those people whith very strong finances who doesn't mind spending more and more money for Norton. Norton is, in other words, a program for rich people, not a program for normal folks with normal income. In the long run Norton will loose customers by this way of acting, because the rich part of the population are in minority. But Norton is of cause free to act as it likes, but in my opinion I think they will loose by this kind of policy.

sorry Norton in the past you were not pestering so much to fall in this trap on spending money I dont have. so i'm seriously thinking and most likely going back to MacAfee. !
Denise Hagerty
Every second day they come up with new things and ask extra money. Norton you have lost all crediblitye with me.
Fred Forbes
Simple and fast to install. Great app.

Yeah, what happened. When this was Symantec it was far more affordable. Now they keep asking to sign up for all these diff optional services for big money and force u to use they're add on crap plus the program can be buggy. C'mon Norton what happened and what happened with the free Malware protection we used to be able to get with the rebates! On the bright side they're protection is at the top or 2nd place in all the reviews I've seen.

VEry disapponted with my renewal with NOrton. I added what was suggested and since then I have had othing but problems the moment my computer is turned on, get a slew of popup notices that I am infected one of them with Mc Afee which is is not on my computer. microsoft teeling me that my computer is infected...What is going on.? I never got that until I renewwed my subscription. IF these problems persist I will need to ask for a refund and rely on another company. Something is seriously wrong with the program,,,constanlty suggested upgrades ,,,,not worth the money I have invested.

25 October 2024. I'm simply baffled by the sudden, dramatic changes - if I understand them as such - to have been made to Norton 360. Why no advance notice and explanation? Even after almost three years, I'm still far from comfortable using Norton and this latest "fiddling" by Norton, first thing in the morning when I would normally do my usual security checks, -including the now-disappeared "Device Updater" scan - has come as a very unpleasant shock. Once again Im forced to resort to "trial and error" to try to understand what's going on at Norton. Thank God I still have Google Chrome to rely on as a browser. It remains to be seen whether it's worth persisting with the Norton browser: I'm really worried about it whether or not it's safe. Is it up to date or not? How do I know? Shame on Norton. PS All year I've been receiving notifications to "Reinstall" the software and I've never been able to understand why.

I have been with Norton for many years and yes they started asking for more money, more money but thats the hungry system we have. Those at the top of the food chain; NEED MORE MONEY!
Gerald Pierce
I sometimes wonder if Norton actually provides any protection; all I see from them is a continuous blizzard of requests to add additional features for additional money. Also, I have Bloglines.com on my computer, which I did not knowingly add, and Norton doesn't seem to be able to remove it. I will not use Norton again after this year.
Tom Emdy
I regret purchasing Norton. They are constantly badgering me to spend more money for added protection. I have received scam mail they don't even warn me, about . Norton is a grifter. They really suck.
Oscar Altavilla
Tell me about Norton! Every second day they come up with new things and ask extra money. You could cancel it and use instead the Microsoft free security which is part of the subscription. Cheers
Michael Simard
My computer was working fine for 5 years until I decided to take the plunge and install Norton. I had it once before and received many features that were very helpful in maintaining my computer health. Now, any little problem requires you to pay for an upgrade to keep your computer running. Norton isn't the program it used to be. It all about the money.
peter venn
It would be most helpful if Norton would clearly indicate whether their communications are just another marketing exercise or serious concerns about the health of our systems and wallets.
Neil
constantly hounded by Norton telling me my computer is in danger and of course spend more money. my PC works just fine. i will not be upgrading Norton anytime soon
sherry daggett
I'm having the same problems. Must have paid well over $500.00. Where are you going for protection that is NOT Norton? Sign me up!
Sandra Ulrich
The posts below mine are correct. I get messages all he time from Norton to update my protection by buying more and more and more. I will not be renewing my Norton Protection either. I will go elsewhere. Life is tough enough trying to keep up with everything let alone constantly being bothered about upgrading with more and more money. No Thanks
Trena Cunningham
My Norton was installed in 2018 including everything but now it's all broken up into different pricing. I'm not going to renew w/Norton because I get fraud e-mails saying they are Norton, and they will charge my credit card a large amount of money. The funny thing is my Norton protection plan does not even catch that to tell me it's fraud, so if I have to catch those things myself, I really don't need Norton, they keep trying to get my credit card number I changed it and Norton will never get my c/c number again because Norton does not do a good job on the little things.
Leon Mondragon
I want to use Norton to save and store my passwords. However when I first tried to use it. Norton did not save the password I used to open my password vault. Norton would not open the vault leading me to believe I was wrong in believing Norton could save the password to my vault.
Tom Brocke
Enough is enough!! If I am a customer, give me notifications, thats what I need. What I don't need is constant badgering to add more of your services.. Want me to review them, OK; send me a MONTHLY newsletter. The more I am interrupted by spam the less attractive your service becomes. I have been a customer way too long for you to treat me like some newbie who needs to be solicited.
Kristi Lee
I agree with previous reviews. I have used your service since 2015. I remember paying one flat fee and everything was included.. now you have broken everything up and charge for every single thing . Why don't you go back to 1 flat fee for everything and be done with it! Im almost ready to jum ship to another service that does not nickel and ime me to death!! Way to many adds.. QUIT SENDING ME ADDS IT IS GETTING REDICULOUS
Andy Gunn
As others have stated, constantly get ads about additional features ( over & over for same ). Why don't you offer everything in a single package that you pick what you want and don't see again until renewal time. Likewise, I get a lot of you need to update this or that, and then updates don't install.
Katharine Crawford (Kathy)
NOT LIKING CONSTANT ADS FOR BUYING MORE AND MORE PROTECTION OFFERS...........AREN'T WE PAYING ENOUGH??
Catherine O'Sick
Have been using Norton since 2008 and have never had a breach of any kind. I highly recommend it.
Tony Christian
Lovbe Norton but these continual requirements to update that dont install or work are very annoying
Paul H J Taylor Wright
New customer to Norton and although you get the box to install Norton Web Page and Web Safe it just sits there and does not install itself after 30 minutes I gave up. Not really how to impress new customers and promote further business.
Kim Hinton
Not 100% happy with Norton
Joanne Marvin
Really poor - have to do this everytime I login.

1) Norton needs to fix this plugin and stop presuming everyone in the world lives in the USA. Most people on the Internet live outside of the USA in this day and age, so there should be a way of allowing local searches. 2) Why is picture searching hidden by this plugin? I can understand preventing certain images from showing, but to have a blanket blockages is not fit for purpose. 3) Anyone else irked by the inefficiencies created by the plugin with respect to Googlemaps?
Liz Sutton
I have only started with Norton but having a terrible time with getting anywhere on this site. It is absolutely the worst time trying to get in touch with a person to talk to . Signed up for Norton Security a few days ago and it kept telling me that it was not active. So I downloaded the app on my computer today and now O dont know what I have in the way of protection. IIt sure would be nice to talk to someone before I end up with a huge bill for something I did not want in the first place.
Gerald Gradney
A Trying to get in touch with your office is impossible always a computer THAT REALLY SUCKS, Have yall not heard of human to human contact. It really works and talk spread the of your product right now I would not tell anyone to buy your prodouct.
John Ward
I had to remove the Norton Safe Search stuff because my search results were terrible. All so US based and irrelevant in Australia. Far too much downside to any potential safety advantages. No use having a safe search facility if the search is useless.

For many years, this extension worked great with safety precautions and letting me know ahead of time which websites were ok to use, and those that were questionable or unsafe. Then, all of a sudden seemingly out of nowhere, it began opening HUNDREDS of tabs on its own--as if it had to do so with each auto-check of not only what I might have clicked on, but any already open tabs. I don't know what happened. I had my laptop closed while I were AFK, with music running, like I had been doing for several years. However, this time, when I opened the lid, I was shocked to see TONS of tabs mysteriously opened when I hadn't touched a thing for hours. I restarted the computer and went to use Chrome again, with the extension still installed, like usual until the same issue happened again--as if it were triggered by the safe tabs that were already open to check not only them, but every other link on their pages--and just NEEDED to blast open way too many excessive tabs for no reason about how safe they were. I could hardly pull away those few safe tabs that I had open myself(only 3-4 of them), to place in their own separate windows, while struggling to shut off the one that continued to fire off opening tabs on its own. And these particular tabs were acting as if Norton plucked a random link URL from another tab, scanned it, then listed all its details without being prompted to. It had never done that before. After finally managing to reach the area of where I could remove the plugin--because even then, the endless auto-tab opening did not stop, and kept pushing the tab that contained the option to disable it further and further away within each second--once it were deactivated, I was full of relief that the auto-tab-opening nightmare had perished. I did another computer restart, ran a few Norton scans, then dared to offer the plugin another chance. Three different times. The same issue pursued. Reluctantly, I opted to use Norton's browser instead--which only seems to check SPONSERED links, so all the others are blank risks. Haha. It crossed my mind if all this happened in the Chrome browser specifically so Norton's own browser would be sought after like that and selected as the main browser--and if so, that ploy worked for a little while. Haha. I still want to give it another chance, but wow. This plugin went from smooth-sailing for multiple years, to MAKE IT STOP! in a matter of a day!

I would not even turn on my laptop without Norton's protection. I can't even begin to tell anyone how many times Norton has protected my system and tie that in with Lifelock, you've got a winning combination. If Norton/Lifelock sells it, I'll buy it.
Brick Tomner
Had to uninstall on my laptop. Norton slowed it down to the point where no next page would load after any app loaded. Waste of money. I trusted Norton 30 years ago -- now never again.
Kerry Weisshaupt
Be VERY careful with your card and bank details with Norton, they have been taking extra payments from my account, it's called stealing money. I signed up again because I was talked into this mob again after having problems with Norton some years ago but was talked into buying again from the sales person at the store so bought a 12 month subscription and now Norton has taken money from my account after 6 months registering online. I now have to cancel my card to stop Norton taking money again without my permission. I am going to report them to Consumer Affairs and the ACCC and hopefully they can stop this theft.
Deanna Dawson
I have been soundly protected with Norton. My computer moves quickly, smoothly and quietly as usual. It is good to know that my computer is safe and secure with Norton.
Monica Brown
I am having the same problem these other folks are. I don't know what it is. I thought they were the best in the biz? My fan runs constantly and so does everything else...it's ridiculous!! It slows everything down, but speeds it all up if that makes sense. It's all running on hyper speed for some reason while I have Norton is running and as soon as I make sure it's not running in the background...it's quiet again. OMG...thank you!!!! PEACE! I didn't have any problems before, but now things lock up...even Walmart when I'm ordering it won't take the verification code from my phone...C'mon man...it just came from my phone!! What have y'all done t my computer! I'm sure there MUST be something else they want you to buy, so they make you think something is wrong with your computer. Please!! We're not all that stupid.
Mariah Reyes
This is trash; Norton slows down my whole system. Their web browser also sucks. Even if the extension is not installed, my Google browser still does not work properly. I never had this problem before until I used Norton. It slowed down the Microsoft browser, too.
Jude Jackson

It's a pretty bad browser. I've had to circumvent it by keeping Google up all the time.
Marcel Belisle

Lloyd Heath
Same results as so many others. Never loads just keeps spinning.
Jeff Ridgway
Why is this bothering me?
Sam Cow
I'm utterly confused as to what this is trying to do so I wasted no more time and closed the tab.
