We've updated the extension to work after some changes on HBO Max website.
Adjust HBO Max video quality to your needs and your internet connection. With this extension, you will never experience annoying buffering again!
You can choose your preferred video resolution in a simple popup window and watch the content in one of the available options:

➡️ Full HD

All you need to do is add the HBO Max HQ extension to your browser and enjoy your favorite series in preferred video quality. It's as simple as that!

Extension forces the video to reload in the chosen resolution. Please note that if you set higher quality than is available in HBO Max, the extension will automatically reload video for the best quality available.

- This extension literally just saved my life and works perfectly! I have a UHD Fiber connection, but due to a bug on my PC, it always shows a low bandwidth, which makes my videos and streams play in poor quality. Thanks to this extension, I was able to force Full HD and finally watch my series in proper quality — it had always looked blurry on my PC until now!

- Love it! If you skip around in a show or movie, I think the native resolution tries to kick back in-- if you go back into the menu and reset it to another HD option, it'll reapply! Thanks for this!!

- Sadly, doesn't work most of the time, and it could truly alleviate the nasty problem created by hbo. since hbo max is the worst quality streaming service, those hbo amateurs can't even make good buffering or force high quality, instead like anti-consumers they are, they downgrade the streaming experience, sacrificing quality for stability, their sub is not worth a broken cent. not even prime or skyshowtime does this...

- Seems to only work half the time. Sometimes will work but the second you pause or use the skip button it will crash the quality down and not bump it back up.

- Watched a modern (2025) tv show and immediately noticed how quickly it switched to 4k within seconds, when prior to installing the extension, the video stream sometimes staying very low until I refreshed my tab. This a great quality of life app.

- Actually works. Doesn't work if video is pre-buffered at a lower resolution (skip forward a min or 2 and it'll go to highest quality). In my case, 720p for Banshee, but it works as described. Thank you!

- I don't really work, make the video load longer and afterwards the quality is still low (looks much better when watched on a TV through the app).

- Sadly, this extension isn't capable of enhancing the quality to FullHD or 4K, even when the content itself is available in that resolution. Max Originals like Peacemaker and Harley Quinn are available in 4K on HBO Max, but the extension can only show them to you in 720p at best. You can DECREASE quality to Low and Standard Resolutions, but you can't increase it to FullHD, QHD and 4K.

- Yes, it does work. No, it will not let you play video higher than 720p in a Chrome browser. Chrome itself is limited with MAX (same with Netflix in Chrome), it can only stream at 720p maximum. Use Edge if you want to stream HBO Max higher than 720p on PC. This extension can also be installed in Edge.

- This extension literally just does not work. the functionality of the extension depends on the availability of content but the content says it is available in 4k. Do not hit me with that copypasta you've created. The content I am trying to watch is listed as available in 4k UHD, but even when I set the extension to 4k, the video stream on something that is supposed to be available in 4k is locked in at 720p. this extension does not work as advertised. It is not worth the added ram to download this extension that does not work.

- On my chrome browser it says my current resolution is 1600 x 670 and will not change regardless if I select QHD or 4K. I have the 4k quality plan and I live in a country that supports 4k for this movie.

- Absolutely amazing what this guy has built. the extension works for me you just change the VPN server and try to max to 4k setting by doing this you will get absolute great quality available. thankyou so much mate

- I had hoped for this to be successful, but unfortunately, it has yielded the opposite outcome. I remain optimistic that an upcoming update will rectify this issue.

- Feature request: Please add Max compatibility. I used to get 1080p with this extension streaming HBO Max, but now HBO Max in US has already transited to Max, and the extension doesn't work anymore. Any chance to add Max compatibility?

- Thanks this extension is awesome, but can you fix the quality to stay high all the time, it works but after some minutes the quality gets back to the medium or low quality again, so you should reclick every while, can you fix that's guys !?
