CORE CONCEPTS: AI MODE VS. PREFILL MODE _____________________________________________________ This extension operates in two distinct modes, determined by the "Model" you assign to a prompt. AI MODE (Opens a Chat Window): This is for tasks that require an AI response. You assign a configured Gemini model (e.g., Slot 1: gemini-1.5-flash) to your prompt. When triggered, it opens a chat popup, sends your formatted text to the API, and displays the result. PREFILL MODE (Instant Text Insertion): This is for tasks that do not need an AI, like reformatting text or extracting data. You assign the special "Prefill (no API)" model to your prompt. When triggered, it processes the placeholders instantly and either replaces the selected text on the page or pastes the result at your cursor. It also enables the special inline trigger: typing _ followed by the prompt name (e.g., _mycontact) will auto-replace it. HOW TO USE IT ________________________________ 1. Setup: Install the extension, open Settings (the gear icon ⚙️), and enter your Google Gemini API key. Use the "Test API & Capabilities" button to validate it. Configure at least one AI model slot (e.g., gemini-1.5-flash). 2. Create a Prompt: Click "✨ Add New Prompt". Write your command, assign a shortcut, and choose a Model. - For an AI task, select one of your configured Model Slots. - For an instant insertion task, select "Prefill (no API)". 3. Run a Prompt: On any webpage, select text (or copy text to your clipboard) and trigger the prompt using one of four methods: - Keyboard: Ctrl+Shift+1 through Ctrl+Shift+4 (and others). - Right-click: Go to "Custom Prompts" → pick a prompt. - Floating Icon: Appears over any text you select. - Inline Trigger (Prefill Mode Only): Type _ followed by your prompt's name. 4.
