Description from extension meta

Zoom one tab without affecting other tabs of the same domain!

Image from store Zoom Per Tab
Description from store Chrome doesn't let you adjust the zooming of different tabs under the same domain independently? Well you found the cure! I know there are a couple of similar extensions out there. At first, I wanted to just download one and save myself some time. I soon realized that existing extensions out there for this purpose are so bulky and complicated. Some of them even ask you to install a daemon process that's available on Windows only - this is real bad, and dangerous, but also real bad. This extension simply makes page zoom settings independent across tabs, regardless of whether they have the same origin. It's ultra-lightweight. It uses a built-in Chrome API, just a few lines of code, no configuration needed at all! You can unpack the extension to verify that it's not doing anything malicious. In fact I encourage everyone to read it because it's so simple. You could've written it yourself! A copy of the source code is at https://github.com/xinan/zoom-per-tab.

  • (2023-11-14) James P: This extension causes newer versions of chrome to freeze when going back a page. Pity, its a very useful extension and I use it extensively at work to zoom all my dashboards to the best fit for the page. Hopefully the developers can sort it.
  • (2023-10-17) Jordan Biserkov: Extension works great! No permissions required. Does NOT, canNOT read your info. No native component. No viruses. Great job! Google, fix your browser. The author even showed his 3 lines of code on Github.
  • (2023-08-17) beans: Works without any permissions! Awesome! Only way to make things better would be if google fixed their browser!
  • (2023-08-16) Jeremy Halzel: Works as intended, seamless transition
  • (2023-06-19) Aasemoon: Could have been a great extension, except every time the page refreshes the zoom resets. Unfortunately makes it useless.
  • (2023-05-13) Teddy: Effective
  • (2023-05-05) Alex G: No longer works
  • (2023-03-30) Mk. V Procrastinator: Does as advertised, but like others have reported, going back a page freezes the tab until you reload the page or switch tabs.
  • (2023-03-30) G ZR: Great callout that this extension does NOT need any other daemon/native process! It's lightweight and just works with current zoom shortcuts. Thanks!
  • (2022-12-28) Rudy A. Hernandez: Its cool but for some reason once I set a tab from a same domain (say to 150%) it keeps setting other tabs of same domain to 110%
  • (2022-11-13) Josh lawson: Wow. When you said lightweight, you meant it! It's crazy, it's really only 3 lines of code. Impressive!
  • (2022-10-10) Gediminas Lelešius: I think it freezes the tab when you navigate to the previous page.
  • (2022-10-07) Drue Gawel: So far seems great - amazingly easy to use and works compared to other extensions plus no additional software to install on your computer (as someone else scarily requires)
  • (2022-09-27) Alfredo Arias: it works, thankyou!!!!
  • (2022-09-25) Ben Passmore-Webb: Fixed the problem like magic - added it to chrome and no further action was needed. Thanks a lot to whomever made this.
  • (2022-09-23) Bowie: Does exactly what it's supposed to all with native code. It's so hilariously simple that I can't even comprehend using other extension for this
  • (2022-07-19) Mike Flanigan: Doesn't work for me in Edge.
  • (2022-07-16) Francis Cardullo: dead simple, 3 lines of code, very safe. Works great.
  • (2022-04-05) Vid Cesar: Very simple does what it's supposed to do 3 lines of code
  • (2022-03-30) Emanuel Oliveira: Love this one
  • (2022-03-07) Himanshu Marathe: Can't figure how to zoom in/out on a Mac.
  • (2021-12-03) Antonio Rodriguez: It works so nicely that I thought it wasn't working! It replaces Chrome zoom (I had another extension, with an installable native component, that worked separately and I thought this would be the same). I would love for it to remember the zoom level on a tab on refresh, but it works so fast that I even prefer it this way (100% by default, custom zoom at need). @dev: great rationale for this extension as explained in the description! This is better.
  • (2021-10-10) Darren: Going back to the search page from a site freezes the page until you switch back and forth between windows, hopefully it will be fixed
  • (2021-09-30) Thiago Waligora: This is amazing! Many thanks. One small thing to be perfect: any way for it remember the zoom setting? Everytime the tab/page is reloaded, it goes back to the preset.
  • (2021-09-13) Shervin Nejad: It doesn't work for me. Page is always 100% on reload.
  • (2021-09-05) Darcy Parkinson: Works well but I have an issue where every time I open a webpage for one specific domain it defaults the window to 150% and i have to change it back to 100%. Is there a way to refresh this or like reset the history so it doesn't think I always want 150% zoom for this specific website?
  • (2021-08-19) Michael Dragich: Brilliant AND Transparent! Works great! But more than that, I really love the fact that the summary of this extension is dead simple and he links to the github for you to see exactly what it's doing https://github.com/xinan/zoom-per-tab No daemons, or any other special installations required! If only all extensions could be this simple and effective and transparent!
  • (2021-07-22) 李宗翰: Simple and effective on UBUNTU 20.04 ! Thank you! Revised: once set, can't reset. Hit reset then refresh the page or change url, the zoom in will be back, manually click the zoom out then refresh the page or change url, the zoom in will be back.
  • (2021-07-09) Paulo Martinez: Easy, simple, instant upgrade! Thank you!!!
  • (2021-06-04) Zachary Leonard: Works, and doesn't require installing a mysterious "native component" onto my system. Awesome!
  • (2021-06-02) yyy qqq: very simle and clear! nice!
  • (2021-03-31) Marcus Widerberg: Working nicely so far! Just what I needed, thanks!
  • (2021-03-24) Kai Yuan Thng: Simple, lightweight, and most importantly does what it's supposed to do.
  • (2021-03-24) Xinan Liu: Simple and effective.
