Students use Pattern Shapes to explore geometry and fractions, creating their own designs, or filling in outlines. As they work with the shapes students explore geometric relationships, think about angles, investigate symmetry, and compose and decompose larger shapes. Many of these explorations lead naturally to thinking about fractions as parts of a whole.

- (2020-07-05) Hubert lange: It's nice, but it seems to be missing a key functionality of saving your work. You can't have pre-saved examples - like the nice colorful things they show in the preview. And obviously you can't load or provide the designs as examples. You can't have saved pattern and then modify it for the next example/lesson, you need to start from scratch. This makes this app highly impractical to use, and basically makes a difference between useful and trash. All you can do is save your work as a black-blob shape, which is mostly useless. Even with the shape, the save goes somewhere in your browser/app cache so you basically can't share it, so WHAT is the point?
