- (2025-07-14) Chris Jeffery: The Screen Reader fails where Chrome's Hot Keys succeed. I'm new to screen readers and I'm not sure if this is expected and how it effects accessibility compliance. But I would expect the screen reader to be able to tab through the page similar to chrome's hot keys, although I understand it wouldn't be exactly the same.
- (2025-02-28) Jorgen Verweij: Nice and comprehensive plugin! An option to zoom in on mobile (just the screen) would be a nice addition, as it would make it easier to test WCAG requirements related to zoom and readability.
- (2025-02-25) Lucas Zihr: Great until last update. Now the accessibility-check-function always shows that the website is 100% accessible even if it is not.
- (2025-02-07) Uriah Tehoda: I had to disable the extension because I wasn't able to use google auth to log into any of my site servers.
- (2025-02-07) Jasper van der Stoop: Had to uninstall, the new plugin forces the button on all tabs. Yes, you can disable it by clicking the extension in the bar, but whenever you reload or navigate the page; it re-appears. There is no option to change the default setting. Furthermore, it breaks sites like youtube where it starts playing a second copy of the video in the background. It also messes around with added scroll bars in full screen mode. This made web browsing very unpleasant.
- (2025-02-06) Priyank Pravinchandra: I love the plugin but with the recent update a button is forever visible on the side of the screen. Not really good. I can't even disable it.
- (2025-02-03) Lucas Franke: New update added a Silktide Button that cant be disabled on all websites. Please remove or add the option to hide the button
- (2024-12-21) Kevin Accessibility: Very, VERY good at getting a quick, total, and comprehensive understanding of your time. Bravo!!
- (2024-08-07) Orgoth Dorngree: The test does not correctly take into account the text shadow, which significantly improves the contrast. I asked an acquaintance from my vocational training who has very poor eyesight and the answer was that the text is very easy to read with the text shadow.
- (2024-06-26) Breamon Daniel: Love this tool but it is down right now for me, maybe a update is happening.
- (2024-06-14) Irina Ten: Nice tool, modern and intuitive. I like the built-in contrast checker.
- (2024-06-04) David Waumsley: Genius. You have made accessibility testing fun! All the most needed things in one place. I particularly love the slimmed down web page only screen reader. Wrestling with desktop screen reader is difficult as a sighted person trying to code at the same time as test. The no-nonsense videos and suggested solutions are excellent. Thank you. I did my own video review too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLAAs6upFj8

If you're like me, you have a bunch of extensions for accessibility testing, and Silktide has made a real effort to bring all the tools you need into one. Exposing alt text on the images, color contrast with an eyedropper, focus order, landmarks, and a top-tier automated checker all in one place!
- (2024-04-02) Camila Guilherme: I'm loving using it so far, but the Screen Reader doesn't seem to pick up the status of all the elements, it reads the role and label but not the status. For example, a navigation button that expands into a menu, it seems to ignore the expanded or collapsed states.
- (2023-12-12) Lee Percox: Such a useful toolbar for identifying barriers on your website. My favourite is the screen reader simulator, as too often people in an organisation that focus on the website do not use screen readers as there is a hard barrier for entry. This makes it simpler.
- (2023-12-08) Luke Storer: It's quickly become my go to tool for checking for any accessibility issues
- (2023-12-07) Ayumi S: Love this extension! As someone who works in the accessibility space, I use it often on websites of accessibility companies to see if they're actually practicing what they preach with their own websites.
- (2023-12-07) James Graham: This is now my go-to tool when building my sites, excellent work Silktide.
- (2023-12-07) Jordy Boothy: Does exactly what you need it to do: check websites for WCAG compliance and all-round ease of use.
- (2023-12-07) Andrew Palmer: The extension is easy to install and use. Once installed, the extension icon appears in the Chrome toolbar. Clicking on the icon opens a menu that allows you to run accessibility tests on the current page, view the accessibility report, and configure the extension settings. The accessibility report generated by the extension is comprehensive and easy to understand. It provides a detailed list of accessibility issues found on the page, along with suggestions for how to fix them. The report also includes a summary of the page’s accessibility score, which is based on the number and severity of issues found. Overall, Silktide Accessibility Checker is a useful tool for web developers and designers who want to ensure that their pages are accessible to all users. The extension is easy to use and provides a comprehensive accessibility report that can help identify and fix accessibility issues on web pages.
- (2023-12-07) James Shand: Developing accessible pages for the web can be challenging, this chrome extension is very useful. The scan feature is quick and immediately highlights problem areas for me to fix with practical recommendations. It also has a variety of tools which simulate how people with different disabilities would interact with a page. The screen reader is particularly impressive and helps you understand how a blind user would navigate your site using assistive technology. A great tool that can be used both on live websites or pages hosted locally.
- (2023-12-07) Holly Williams: Silktide’s Accessibility Checker is a must-use tool for anyone who wants to improve the accessibility of their website. It works in seconds to highlight the most important issues, and gives simple and easy-to-read guidance on how to improve them. It has a powerful suite of tools which allow you to simulate different disabilities. The screen reader especially is unlike any other I’ve used!
- (2023-12-06) Simon Waters: Silktide's Chrome extension is a powerful accessibility checker that tests to WCAG 2.2. It simulates a range of experiences, including color blindness, dyslexia, and visual impairments. Also, the simulated screen reader is especially helpful, it's a great improvement on the previous version. It also works on webpages in development, which is really useful when you want to quickly check something before publishing it.
- (2023-12-06) Oliver Emberton: This is a massive improvement on the last Silktide toolbar. The screen reader simulator is incredibly useful.
