• (2025-06-13) Hope Banks: May 3, 2025. This extension needs a lot of work. Technically it is hit or miss. The "x" next to videos for blocking them, does not do a thing. This extension is hit or miss, it either blocks what I do not want blocked or it blocks nothing. It is too inconsistent. JUNE 13, 2025. WORKS ONE DAY, FAILS TO WORK THE NEXT. June 6, 2025. • (2025-05-25) Eddie: Only one serious issue, having more than one preset seems useless since changing presets wipes all settings and block lists, except video links and any cached through API use. Also wish you could have a block by age without API, even if it's limited, since there is a simpler age info right under the title on the homepage.

• (2025-03-27) Andario Andrada: Great functionality, HORRIBLE performance The most complete YT blocker there is, with plenty of customizable options, including the ability to block both channels and users, and filter videos by age (Features usually missing in other blockers). The performance, though, it´s simply horrible. I´ve been using extensions since forever, and I don´t recall any extension impacting my YT browsing so negatively. The issue is particularly bad when iyou do infinite scrolling (such as the Home page), not only forcing my CPU to 100%, but stopping the scrolling completely until it recovers. I was so miffed I actually took the time to ask 3 differents AIs if this was normal or it was me, and they told me than (other than poor optimization) my issues are related to the massive amount of data the addon is injecting constantly (Plus every other extension I have installed, of course). I was actually planning to upgrade to a pretty powerful Intel Core Ultra 7 165H, and the AI told me I could still get spikes above 90%. Anyway, I stopped using it since I found much lighter alternatives to achieve 90% of its features, separately. If you want a one-stop shop and have a pretty powerful computer, or you just dont´have many other extensions, give it a go.
• (2025-03-22) Fenix TV: Was working pretty well for several months but recently it has ignored some videos at random, at times blocking them seconds after, or not. Now at the time I am writing this review it completely stopped working. It still blocks the video I am watching based on its title but completely ignores the sidebar reccomendations, there are like several videos there that contain the set keywords. Usually turning YTBlock on and off works as a fix but now just nothing
• (2025-03-22) Greg Cromwell: Powerful, best (maybe only) category blocker. I sometime use Filmot.com (which is only transcript search for youtube) as my front end to youtube. I am wondering if the YTblock extension could be modified to support that site?

• (2025-03-09) a b: Sometimes, category-based video blocking takes effect only after reloading the video watch page, and the blocking overlay from a previously blocked video appears on the current video watch page.

• (2025-01-21) Dominik: I like to watch some content about games I'm currently playing but I don't want anything spoiling the ending, final boss fight or characters' deaths included and also not recommended by YT, so I just blocked videos including these words and it worked. Even when I'm searching for "ending" for example I will barely find anything like that. Just the very weirdly worded ones get through but that is super rare, hasn't happened to me through the recommended videos yet and you'd need AI to filter those out which would go way beyond the basic functionality of an extension like this. Great work, thank you!

• (2025-01-01) Natasha MJ Spira Publications: In the beginning it worked perfectly. Then started showing the videos from channels that have been blocked. You can block any content in channels, but that still shows up. I am sorry to say, this extension is of no help now because I have to constantly removed the things that has been blocked!!!

• (2024-11-07) Nigel: Works well. One slight niggle is that the extension icon pinned to the toolbar for quick access to settings etc has the name 'Popup' with mouseover. Would be preferable to name it 'YTBlock' or something more accurate, as is the usual convention?
