★ Simplicity defines us - NOW WITH TREE VIEW and AUTOMATIC GROUPING!
★ Open shortcut, CTRL + i (windows), COMMAND + e (macOS) and CTRL + q (linux)
Vertical Tabs View allow you to easily access and search your tabs, using a vertically stacked UI. It also allows you to open, sort and close individual or a group of tabs.
This extension is very useful for those who end up with many tabs open without knowing the last time you even interacted with them, allowing one to easily get rid of old tabs. It also makes it easy to spot duplicated tabs and to navigate to recently opened ones.
See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ow6f5zWRLI for details on how to use it.
Note: Chrome shows a scary popup regarding Vertical Tabs View accessing your browser history. We do react to new tabs as a way to store LOCALLY the last time you interacted with them. However, nothing is ever sent to a server, nothing ever leaves your computer, this extension is completely private. Feel free to check the code at the website link.

- (2024-10-14) Adela Wierzbowska: Thank you for creating this extension! Works perfectly and I am really impressed with how you incorporate / respond to every bit of feedback provided by others! (Despite the way it's sometimes worded by the reviewers...) Keep up the good work Bruno!
- (2024-07-07) Geoffrey Alan: bro why cant we make this thing much thinner, no reason for it to be that wide. make the minimum much smaller please
- (2024-07-01) huan qiao: hello, Bruno, how are you! I'm a stutent from china and arr using your fantastic chrome extension Vertical Tabs Side Panel. Even though your work is already excellent, I have a few suggestions, and I appreciate your willingness to listen: 1. Remove the display of “Last Used Time” or make it optional. 2. Allow for smaller icons. (The purpose of both the first and second suggestions is to make the side tab display more compact.) 3. Enable a narrower sidebar, as the current wider sidebar occupies too much of the monitor’s area. Thank you for listening! Once again, I appreciate your outstanding work and hope that both your life and work are going well! Best regards, Joe
- (2024-06-19) the modfather: Umm, why can't you put it on the left side?
- (2024-06-09) Joe P: I find this extension a very good addition to Chrome. Nonetheless, I have two suggestions. First, allow the user to narrow the side panel. It is simply way too wide. I have tried narrowing it any number of ways and nothing works. Second, when a video or recording is playing in the background while you are exploring another webpage in a different tab, it would be helpful if the tab where the sound is coming from shows a speaker symbol as the horizontal tabs at the top of Chrome do. But this extension shows a lot of promise.
- (2024-06-05) Sebastian Neva: Great extension but I really would like to get support of window groups too as mentioned by the other reviewer. Another great feature would be able to change the font or at least to use the same font as the Chrome default.
- (2024-05-07) Luca Benazzi: Some nice features, although I would like to be able to make the list more compact so I don't have to scroll. No need to see when it was last opened, that info is unnecessary (a url would be better, but it should be optional). Thanks for your efforts.
- (2024-04-11) Jacek Majda: Great extension with a great potential, thank you. There is one issue that I find quite frustrating in daily use. Currently, there is no tabs grouping by the opened Chrome windows. If you have multiple Chrome windows, all the tabs are still listed in one list without any indication/division/grouping allowing to identify, in what Chrome window the tabs are opened. Could the tabs be grouped by the windows, they're opened in? I will be very happy to update my review once that option is implemented/fixed. TIA
- (2023-12-10) Lewis Hsia: Very great add-on.Could you add the tree tab feature to make it perfect?
- (2023-11-09) Zhou Dong: Look good to me. Hope if we can have some options to adjust the visual interface. Because I feel the default visual of each tab is too big (the height and spacing, is not compact)

- (2023-10-23) Anna Neuhaus: Fantastic, great design and features. I love that one can sort based on last time used.

- (2023-08-09) Greg M: Unless I've missed the setting (I've looked), there's no way to pin the vertical tabs display to stay open?? That's a fail. Who wants to have to click a button in order to see one's tabs? Not me.

- (2023-05-18) Ebrahim: the only working vertical tabs exension on Chrome. here are some feature suggestions for this already great tool. - ability to Keep the last search term visible when clicking and opening tabs list again. - highlight duplicate tabs in a more distinctive color such as yellow or red (rather than currently blue color) - for tab sorting add an unsorted mode, so that the tabs from current window will be listed first on top of the list with the same order of open tabs in current window, and then comes tabs from other windows, and each window will be separated from other windows with a colored separator line. - highlight and prefarably automatically scroll to the currently active tab in the list.

- (2022-12-20) Tiago Alves: Really nice extension. As a multitasker I'm always struggling to keep track of my tabs and I always forget to close old inactive ones. The ability to sort by most active tabs and close all the oldest is what sells this extension to me. Great job!
