TabMUX is a tmux-inspired keyboard interface for Chrome Tab Groups.
Create groups, jump between them, and move tabs—all without touching the mouse.
Privacy note: TabMUX never collects, stores, or transmits any user data.
Everything runs locally in your browser.
Quick Start
- Alt+Shift+G — Create a new tab group (or move the active tab into a new group)
- Alt+Shift+0–9 — Focus the corresponding numbered group
- Alt+Shift+M, then 0–9 — Move the active tab into a group

Move mode (move tabs between groups)
- Alt+Shift+M, then 0 — Move active tab to group 0

- Alt+Shift+M, then 3 — Move active tab to group 3
- Alt+Shift+M, then 4 — Move active tab to group 4

- Esc — Cancel move mode
Notes
- Shortcuts use the Alt+Shift+X pattern throughout.
- Some pages (e.g. chrome:// and the Chrome Web Store) do not allow extensions to run scripts.
