Simplehuman adds keyboard shortcuts and smart features to Gmail, to make it work like Superhuman.
Use simple keyboard shortcuts (hotkeys) to navigate through email, archive, delete, snooze, switch between emails in almost flow-state speeds. It brings the Superhuman experience right inside Gmail, without costing you $30/month.
Reach inbox zero or inbox read. Whatever your style, Simplehuman simply works.
Features:
1. Command Bar for emails - Cmd+K or Ctrl+K
All your email actions - mark read/unread, report spam, archive, add label, compose etc available in an easy to use command bar. You wouldn't need to use your mouse again (mostly). This command bar means you don't have to memorise all the keyboard shortcuts and quickly search for email actions instead.
2. Natural Language Snooze / Reminders
Gmail's snooze UI is super clunky. You can snooze emails and set yourself reminders by typing "2 days" or "in 3 mins" or in "7 months". You don't have to think about the date & time, just when you want the email to be shown to you again.
3. Nudges to learn keyboard shortcuts
Whenever you use your mouse, Simplehuman gently prompts you with the keyboard shortcut that you could use instead. Migrate to using shortcuts at your own pace.
4. Quick navigation through your email
Jumping between your Inbox, Sent, Drafts, or Folders is now an easy to use command with Simplehuman. Hit `Esc` to go back to the previous screen from wherever you are. You don't need a $30/month app to give you shortcuts when Gmail already has them ;)
5. Single step archive and delete
You can just hit Del or E to delete and archive emails without selecting emails first.
You can also select multiple emails by just pressing Shift key and using your arrows.

- (2025-07-11) Sean Murphy: This is a lower-cost replacement for the Superhuman application, bringing in a lot of the same keyboard shortcuts directly into the Gmail web application. It isn't a 100% replacement for Superhuman, but it keeps getting closer and closer and has a super responsive founder! Given that Superhuman was bought by Grammarly, I expect a lot of people to turn to this app who just wanted a faster, keyboard shortcut focused email experience.

However I will not modify the below review as a reminder for them to do better, and for others to be aware of what's happened. Old Review: Great extension, but misleading advertising. This a paid and premium extension that requires a subscription to use. You're not made aware of this until the free trial runs out. In the extension description they have: "It brings the Superhuman experience right inside Gmail, without costing you $30/month. " Yet SimpleHuman does have a price tag at $5/month. https://www.simplehuman.email/pricing I do believe their pricing is very reasonable, and if they were upfront about this, I would be happy to pay. But, I am unable to trust a company who operates like this. Unfortunately have to give a 1-star review.

Everything Simplehuman does is built on top of the native Gmail functionality so my inbox is usable even if something goes wrong or I'm stuck on mobile. I recently had a small but weird issue and Phalgun was quick to respond and work though it with me. He also was quite open to feedback and adjusting features to make them even more useful.

Simplehuman helps me power through my Gmail inbox much faster and at a fraction of Superhuman’s cost. It’s efficient, straightforward, and keeps me organized without the heavy price tag. The only thing I wish it had is a mobile app—but even without it, the value is unbeatable.
