Description from store
New Reddit Redirection extension simply redirects reddit.com to new.reddit.com to force use of the "new" Reddit layout.
Notes:
Due to Reddits self imposed restrictions. You must be logged into Reddit for the addon to work. It also does not work while in incognito mode. This will be fixed in next update. For now, disable addon to log into Reddit than re-enable it and it will work.

- (2025-01-18) Daníel Ingólfsson: For anyone using this for Reddit, my old filter stopped working, changes I made to make it work again. Example: https://soccer.reddit.com/ Inc. Pattern: https://*.reddit.com/ Redirect to: https://old.reddit.com/r/$1 I'd also recommend having this filter Example: https://www.reddit.com/ Pattern: https://www.reddit.com/ Redirect: https://old.reddit.com/ Make sure that the second filter is above the other one.
- (2024-12-14) chico lo: Good extension but no longer works. Update: Not the fault of the creator. Site the extension redirects to has been deprecated
- (2024-12-13) Chris Addario: It was a 5-star for sparing me the horribly designed new UI but as of Dec 11, 2024 it's stopped working Dec 13th Update: Confirmed by reddit devs that new.reddit.com (which this extension redirects to) has been permanently decommissioned as of Dec 11th which is why this no longer works and sadly why it will never be able to work again.
- (2024-12-13) callanyonefrompc: Hasn't worked since Dec 11, 2024. I emailed the developer about it, but he hasn't responded yet. Hopefully it will get fixed soon. And if it can't be fixed, update the extension description to say it no longer works and remove the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- (2024-12-13) Jake S: It stopped working recently and instead just gets stuck in an about:blank loop. But I'm giving an extra star because it was good until this bug happened.
- (2024-12-13) Oliver C: It doesn't work, it keeps reloading an about:blank page when I open reddit
- (2024-12-12) Pauline H: Was working perfectly until today :( Please, please try to fix it 🙏
- (2024-11-13) f364: Broken for some reason after months of use. Only broke after I logged out yesterday, not sure why. Now even when I uninstall and log back in and reinstall its still broken. The site just redirects to about:blank and refreshes over and over and over.
- (2024-09-14) Syr syr456: Don't let this die out. I'd like to see an update for this, get it working again. No sense of reddit winning.
- (2024-09-09) Jason Flora: Perhaps it only works for me because I am a mod, but I installed it today and it works perfectly. Thanks! Edit: I would love it if you could add an on/off toggle - some of the mod links get stuck in a loop when trying to redirect away from new.reddit.
- (2024-08-29) Lincoln Carroll: It seems to have stopped working.
- (2024-08-29) David Combe (DangerousDac): I have to echo everyone else and say it's no longer working.
- (2024-08-29) Elle: August 28th 2024, no longer works
- (2024-08-28) Scott: Seems to have been fixed, stopped working for me today :/
- (2024-08-28) Aaron M.: Reddit seems to have fixed this. No longer working :(
- (2024-08-26) Laura Shuck: RIP, it was good while it lasted but the Reddit assassins finally caught up and killed my new.reddit. Edit: Apparently being a mod lets you continue to use new.reddit, guess we'll see how long that lasts.
- (2024-08-26) R. Mann: Love the plugin but Reddit done killed new.* again. Man alive they really must hate their users lol.
- (2024-08-14) E2k: Your extension was a god send while it lasted. Unfortunately, reddit admins are actively trying to ruin reddit so they removed new.reddit.com, breaking the extension. Thank you for your goated extension.
- (2024-08-03) M Jepsen: This was such a great tool. Unfortunately, reddit has now removed new.reddit.com, rendering this tool useless. I thank you for the extension while it was useable, it was great and now its gone :(
- (2024-07-29) MisterBaseball200: As others have said, this extension is now causing Reddit to fall into an infinite loading loop when enabled (and yes I am logged in, it still happens). Please fix!
- (2024-07-25) Dan Bernard: Stopping working this morning! Reddit page is stuck in a loading loop! Please fix
- (2024-07-19) Dimas Arellano (Dimas1510): Edit: Nevermind, just Reddit being Reddit...
- (2024-07-18) Owr: used to work great. now I can't get to reddit at all if it's on.
- (2024-07-10) Andre: was working perfectly fine until about an hour ago, can no longer access the site with this extension on, YES i am logged into reddit, so its not user error. something is broken on it right now
- (2024-07-01) Rachel: It used to work really well, but not since yesterday. Can't even access reddit with this extension on. I have read the notes and it still won't work
- (2024-06-29) Atillasalim Biraz: masterpiece
- (2024-06-10) Brandy Jupiter: Installed but when enabled reddit just flickers, disable and reddit works. Hopefully its something that can be easily fixed.
- (2024-06-08) Rico Bennett: Does what it says, until you log out of Reddit. Then it goes bonkers, bouncing between Reddit and about:blank incessantly. Can't log back in or even view Reddit again until the extension is disabled. So if you routinely log out and back in, this may not be a good choice for you.
- (2024-06-07) spice: pog championship
- (2024-06-05) Poochie Collins: Worked as advertised for a while, but then one instance I logged out all Reddit tabs I clicked on went haywire with what I think are redirects b/w Reddit and "about:blank." It took a little bit to figure out that it was the extension. Even when logged in it does the same thing, now, until I re-disable the ap. Reinstalling made no difference. {Edit a few weeks later} I tried it again, after I got a memo that another ap I was using for the purpose might be malicious, and this ap seems to be working properly once again. I'm scared to log out, though. Boosting from 3 stars to 4.
- (2024-06-03) Thomas Laughton: No longer seems to be working as of June 2nd... dunno if reddit has changed something recently? aside from that it was working great :)
- (2024-05-29) Hambone Designs: THANK YOU!!! The new UI is so unbelievably terrible. I just do not understand this company. From the API changes, to removing awards, what outlandish feature will they concoct next? Edit: As of 5/29/24 new.reddit.com seems to no longer work for playing videos... God I hate this company.
- (2024-05-19) Karen Schwartz: It stopped working for me this morning , 5-19-24, after I ran Spybot and also cleared the browser/cookies using the advacned Chrome setting. Thi snever happened before...it always worked after running those. I disable the extension thingee, and Reddit will load, but with the icky UI. If I enable the exension thingge, it won't load any new Reddit pages or comments. Any ideas as to how to fix this?? Thanks.
- (2024-05-14) KamakazeTaco: I'm using Opera GX and this works wonderfully for it.
- (2024-05-01) Dylan: I hate the new reddit design, this is a huge help thank you!
- (2024-04-25) Patrick: Hate. HATE with a passion that ugly new UI. Thank you so much!
- (2024-04-24) VideosFromKandA: Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I hated the new new UI so much, I went back to the old one (which is ... not great). This is so much better.
- (2024-04-23) Troy Jones: Prevents against the inefficiencies of the new UI. 👏
- (2024-04-22) Dark Star: you saved me , thank you so much
- (2024-04-22) LoyalNightmare: A fantastic plugin, but today it keep redirecting over and over and reddit wont load anymore more
- (2024-04-17) Iman Pirmohamed: Amazing when it works, which is almost all the time! Recently though it has stopped working when I click on the 'popular' feed. No posts seem to load and this message pops up 'Reddit gets better when you join communities, so find some that you’ll love!' with a button to click saying 'Browse Popular Posts'. Hopefully the dev can figure out why because this extension is brilliant!
- (2024-04-16) Patrick Giacobbe: The new 2024 reddit UI sucks! Sounds like job justification over there. Thanks for the addon, works perfectly!
- (2024-04-16) Andy Ng: Was working fine for a while, but now it endlessly loop loads on some (not all) reddit pages. I did a scan the night before and it cleared up some trackers/cookies if that can help narrow down the cause.
- (2024-04-12) Michael Gagnon: Simple and clean fix to an issue that shouldn't be. Its not gonna last forever, I'm sure but it will do the job, for now.
- (2024-04-12) Ben Harris: Good when it works, but it seems to stop working every other day.
- (2024-04-11) Paul Reissmann: Perfect addon, please never let this addon die.
- (2024-04-09) Nick: Great stuff. Works perfectly
- (2024-04-09) Mizra1898: top kek extension
- (2024-04-09) Austin: Lifesaver. Old Reddit I can take it or leave it. New Reddit worked really well for me. This new new Reddit is a garbage site with oversized icons and too much whitespace.
- (2024-04-09) Victoria De Capua: refreshed the page, works great.
