Autoplay Stopper for YouTube

Works... sort of. Click on a video in YT and you get the block graphic, which is perfect. But click on a video in a web search and the video hangs for about 7 seconds and eventually stops... not good if you want to watch it immediately.

You have to close all Chrome windows and then start up Chrome again fresh for this extension to activate. Sometimes, however, it does not stop the playing at all and the video will just play completely if you click on the tab without even clicking on the video. This should be defeats the whole purpose of the extension. Unfortunately, it also takes a second for it to stop the autoplay when a new tab/window is opened or refreshed. This should be improved because it again defeats the whole purpose of the extension. I had to reduce the rating several times as I discovered all of these problems. Forget Autoplay Stopper. We need an Autoplay PREVENTER.

It simply don't works for me

Works! I have 50 tabs w/ 10 YouTube tabs. When I restore Chrome, any YT tab used to autoplay - drove me crazy trying to find which tab(s) were playing. This fixes the problem nicely!

My problem: My headset is connected by bluetooth to my phone & my Mac. Chrome has many paused YouTube tabs. When I hang up a call, one of them starts playing. AutoplayStopper has stopped that, which I like. But now when I hang up, my Mac insists on playing music. How do I fix this!

The extension works but could be better. The YouTube videos still start automatically for about two seconds before the extension kicks in to stop it. Would prefer if it blocked play immediately so videos don't play until I hit the play button on YouTube.

It prevents YouTube videos from playing automatically when I open lots of them into new tabs. Normally I would end up with a dozen videos playing at the same time, requiring me to check each tab and pause them manually. Some of the videos will still auto-play if I visit the tab, but not all of them. IMO this works well enough, so 4/5 stars.
