This is an open source price tracker for the Bitcoin (BTC) asset on the Bitcoin Blockchain, no invasive browser permissions are required to run this extension, all code is publicly viewable on GitHub: https://github.com/JayWelsh/os-browser-btc-ticker
I made this because I couldn't find a tool which does this which is also open source.
Data is retrieved from the following CoinGecko endpoint: https://api.coingecko.com/api/v3/simple/price?ids=bitcoin&vs_currencies=usd
