  • (2025-01-29) fabio scardino: verry bad company can't use chrome or firefox to use i ll change all camera with different company
  • (2024-12-27) Trük Meister: What a joke! the camera is a great camera but you cannot access the stream view in browser unless you use a useless Chromebook computer. Update you junk Amcrest!
  • (2024-10-30) Brian Sampson: to bad this camera is outdated and ready for the trash can its only 4 years old
  • (2024-08-30) Ska Bob: This works fine on Chrome still. But you don't need it for Windows, now IE has been disabled just open the camera in Edge then select Open In Internet Explorer Mode and you can access the video and settings with no problem. Also the cameras still work on the phone or desktop app.
  • (2024-07-23) Geo Damian: I have this camera almost nine years...I think... Indoor... It works until now... You have the configuration through any browser and live view from the mobile app...
  • (2024-07-16) Jim Booth: The Amcrest config utility will run on Brave but the live view doesn't work. You can program the camera and use Blue Iris for the live view.
  • (2024-05-10) Ian Peters: Not running on anything but ChromeOS is a joke. Too bad, this used to be a good camera.
  • (2024-01-25) Randy Vyskocil: Amcrest software is dated by 15 years. A workaround is to use Microsoft Edge and put it in Internet Explorer compatibility mode.
  • (2024-01-16) Welbeck Manor: Complete joke, only works on chrome OS... no intention for them to make it work in chrome browser like it used to... don't buy cameras from these guys. Get some from a reputable manufacturer that will not force obsolescence on you.
  • (2024-01-06) Steve N: Used to work in Chrome. How the hell am I supposed to administer my cams now?????????????
  • (2024-01-04) Gábor Nagy: seriously? only chromeOS?....
  • (2023-11-30) Jason Rambo: This works OK in chromeOS & I do wish it worked in Chrome browser. Frankly, for my needs logging. into the PTZ camera via the IP address and having a second window open to view the steaming video via Amcrest cloud works ok. I can adjsut PTZ and other camera settings with my browser via the direct camera login and see the results in a 5-ish second delay in the cloud viewer open in a second camera. I like my Ring system at home way better but vs. the older Arlo cameras just don't have the full features I need and this camera bridges that until the day I can put in a coherent system. This camera and its features is more like a value-priced camera that works like my "Axis" system in use elsewhere without the ability to publish the video stream to a 'google site' the way my Axis system and it's in-camera video viewer allows me to do with Chrome.
  • (2023-11-07) Shawanakie Peoples: Down below in these comments you will find a IE extension for chrome that at least lets you view live video. However one cannot playback videos or change the settings. The best i have been able to do is use ip address to log into the app via chrome browser. Once there you can change settings of the camera but cannot view video. Next i use the IE extension in a separate tab to view live video. Finally i use Blue Iris to store and access video via Blue iris settings but cannot actually control the camera with Blue Iris. Between the 3 of these it works for my existing camera but i wont be buying amcrest again ever in the future. My Amcrest camera is one of the top tier high end cameras they have and worked great for 4 years. Amcrest knows very well their app is no longer supported on chrome. The chrome app is the only one of there apps that allows you to live view, change settings, and view recorded videos. There customer service purposely runs you in circles knowing there is no solution. That's not hyperbole that's policy. They really have abandoned there product and only exist now to sell off what they have left in stock. Refund if you just bought and go with another company. There is no solution.
  • (2023-11-06) Trevor Webb: Actually really bad. Do not give them any money. If you already bought a camera, find a way to refund it. Chat support is also garbage.
  • (2023-10-29) Jason Sternick: Does not work. Amcrest is garbage. Used to work until they stopped supporting IE/Edge. The Google Chrome extension never works. Will never purchase Amcrest again. It's clearly a known issue they're aware of and they will not fix.
  • (2023-10-19) Veysel Demirbaş: It works on the cell phone, I can view 2 cameras, there is no problem, I have 2 of the same type, different versions, I try it on the PC,(Chrome) one works, the other doesn't, if I'm lucky, the other will too Works on the PC.
  • (2023-10-02) Daniel Penteado: Simply does't work on chrome. It says no suppot.
  • (2023-09-01) William Grundemann: Worked fine for initial setup on one of my cameras that does not support video through the regular IP way and to make sure it was connected before adding to software. Now it is no longer supported so i cannot easily direct IP access that camera anymore. What a shame.
  • (2023-06-25) Rex Ray: Amcrest appears to have abandoned their product line. This app has been problematic from the beginning with no updates coming out to correct all of the errors - which I've been able to mostly work around for the last decade. Now the app won't even open from the app store, so I can't change my cameras' wifi settings anymore. Amcrest: please fix this!
  • (2023-06-16) Henry Hats: This doesn't work at all. Can't launch from chrome://apps/ anymore. If you are on a Windows computer, you might be able to download the "IE Tab" extension, but you must have IE on your computer for that to work, and might as well skip the extension and use IE for your cameras, at that point. I was able to side load the Amcrest android app .apk onto my Chromebook (because Amcrest purposefully doesn't let you install it from the Play Store on chromebooks), which can be done if you... find the .apk package identifier (file name that usually starts with "com.") from the Play Store link, download the android app on your phone, connect the phone to your chromebook by USB, enable USB debugging on the phone, enable ADB debugging on the chromebook, install ADB on the chromebook's Linux partition with "sudo apt-get install adb," run "adb devices -l" to find your phone's ID, run "adb -s <your phone's ID> shell pm path <apk package name from play store url>" to see full file path of the app you installed on your phone, run "adb -s <your phone's ID> pull </apk/full/file/path> </your/download/destination/in/Linux>" to extract the apk to your Linux partition, unplug your phone, and run "adb -s 100.115.92.2:5555 install </your/download/destination/in/Linux>" to install the apk on your chromebook's android partition. App icon should appear in the app launcher immediately. Thanks Amcrest.
  • (2023-04-25) John Guzowski: Was not able to get app/extension to work when trying to directly access the camera (via IP address). Was able to stream the camera via IP using internet explorer. Amcrest Pro does work. Used to work, no longer.
  • (2023-01-09) Ryan: Garbage.. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRAND
  • (2023-01-05) Ferney Munoz: Trash!
  • (2022-11-29) RJ Riv: it was a good app for accessing the camera to change setting and stuff. sad that chrome decided to remove apps. but you can still access the apps by going to chrome://apps/ but idk how long it going to last for.
  • (2022-10-19) Erik Lentz: Support for Chrome apps is ending, and I will no longer be able to fully configure my camera. Amcrest support is not responsive to supporting their products.
  • (2022-10-13) Charles Hatch: Okay folks, here is what you need to do. Install the IE Tab extension in chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ie-tab/hehijbfgiekmjfkfjpbkbammjbdenadd?hl=en-US Then install/enable the extension. You will have to install a little app that downloads. It is legit. Then go to your camera's IP address in Chrome. When you get there, click the "e" icon to the right of the address bar, and it will open the site in the InternetExplorer tab. There it will work. PIA - Yes. Workable - sure.
  • (2022-08-17) Darren Adams: Unable to connect to my camera (no errors). Works fine in the browser minus any video.
  • (2022-07-30) Karl Thacker: If you want an idea how Amcrest treats customers- look at how they make all the stars nearly as dark as a voted/selected star. Just to make it appear they have 5 star reviews. Pretty sad. The cameras are great. The interface support/quality? Pure garbage. Same stupid app messages as when I bought my first Amcrest camera 4 years ago. Now that Internet Explorer has been truly taken away, Amcrest users are screwed.
  • (2022-07-21) Pierre Juillard: Do the job, it's the easy way to configure amcrest ip cameras. App works, but you need to anterstand how google apps are working ! After install, launch it and go to chrome://apps/. Make a shortcut with right click on your desktop for example and t's done ;)
  • (2022-06-27) Orlando Yanguas: This doesn't work. The app loads but it asks you to install the plugin, which is impossible to do in Chrome, it just opens a help page.
  • (2022-05-26) Don Jenkins: JUNK. Running on a HP Laptop running Windows 10. Inconsistent logging in even. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Same thing with the annoying "Please download and install plugin". I click, and nothing happens. No download, nothing. Don't bother with this app. Download the Amcrest View Pro for Android. Works flawlessly, no nagging "Please download and install plugin". I was referred to Amcrest from a Security System friend of mine. Meh. I've got cheap Yi WiFi cameras that are far easier to use than these things. I've been all over the country, and could still pull up my cameras with their easy to use app. Cloud service is way cheaper also.
  • (2022-05-24) Bryan Greenawalt: Doesn't work at all. Camera says click here to install the app, I click there, install the app, go back to the camera and log in again and just get prompted to install the app again. There are ways to do this natively in the browser without a plugin. We don't need this trash anymore.
  • (2022-01-28) عبدالرحمن بن سلطان: not working
  • (2022-01-23) jay john: Works well once you get it working.....
  • (2021-10-24) Truck 77 Galaxy S8: App launces an app that launches an app. You can configure and change stuff but no video, just a black screen. To bad you can't give negative stars.
  • (2021-10-10) Tony Huang: Not working at all
  • (2021-10-06) Mark Madigan: doesn't work at all, just sits there....doing nothing
  • (2021-09-30) Kelly: holy crapballs.. this is the WORST software ever.. their phone app is garbage.. they dont support modern browsers.. and this pile of poo hardly works. Cannot download videos from the camera just sits there all day waiting.. utter garbage.. never an amcrest product again..
  • (2021-09-04) Andrew Haug: Junk. Yes I am opening it correctly. I get to the login screen, enter the credentials and... nothing happens. Cannot login to the camera via this app. Cannot get an image from the camera via web either.
  • (2021-08-26) Jon Austin: Unfortunately this app is complete garbage. Just gives some error about insufficient capacity to stream.
  • (2021-08-18) Amel Soro: i dont understand how hard is it today to find quality developers and good software engineers to write code. its 2021 and this company still write code from 1990s before all these advance tools and knowledge became public. Who ever is in charge of the quality needs to be fired and replaced fast! this company is probably the number 1 company in terms of worst software capabilities. software keep crashing, doesnt work, when it works, its slow. port forwarding glitches and doesnt respond. its overall very bad and needs to be deleted and redesigned and developer with brand new team
  • (2021-07-25) Bruce Gallion: Does not work
  • (2021-06-09) Outdoor Detective: This is junk. I install CCTV / surveillance systems as my primary business. Thought I would try these as many customers are now looking for less expensive wireless systems, not 10 to 15k. The cameras are easy enough to connect to a local wifi. The mobile app seems to work ok. A little clunky compared to mobile app and cameras. The web interface is just absolute junk, using a Google extension plugin. simply wont connect period and I have a substantial IT skill set. if you want simple/ wifi / cheap these are ok with just the mobile app. If you are looking for more interaction, recording, storage of events.... LOOK ELSEWHERE !
  • (2021-05-28) Rosque E.: Works very well. I have not had issues connecting to my cameras. I can understand the frustration for some users because it is not entirely user friendly and you may need to know some basic networking configuration if you want it to work successfully.
  • (2021-04-09) Ivan Brunello (theQuillan): Got a quite recent NVR from Amcrest. Installing the web app make no difference compared to accessing directly withouth the plugin. - this web app allows only 2x2 cameras grid, and IE ActiveX allows 4x4 - still unable to replay the recordings (ActiveX works) - still unable to live view all the cams (ActiveX works) Going to uninstall, and stay for ActiveX on IE, until Amcrest provides a real working client for his cameras and NVRs. Or until I find a way to effectively using those expensive "AI" cameras I bought and already installed to high to replace easily.
  • (2021-03-24) Gary Crawford: Very poor software whoever made it should be shot, or at least fired. I need one that works as good as the amazon software.
  • (2020-11-22) D Schumacher: Terrible app.
  • (2020-11-21) Eli Black-Mizuta: Does not do anything it's advertised to do. Leaving aside egregious UX issues, this application simply does not work. It maintains that it's missing a plugin, and has no further troubleshooting options available.
  • (2020-11-12) r z: Does Not work. Launching the app workings, but you can not login to the camera.
  • (2020-10-20) Ethan Parker: Until this app is fixed it is entirely useless. The only way I can get live streaming to work via a browser is to use FireFox. UPDATE: To give credit where it is due, this app/extension did eventually work with Chrome, however I'm not changing my rating because (1) it still requires Flash even though Adobe is ending its support for it in less than three months, (2) neither Chrome's built-in PW manager or LastPass can be used with the extension, and (3) it doesn't work in the new Microsoft Edge Chromium.
