• (2025-06-17) xub21: Pretty good, works as intended. Suggestion: Would it be possible to add a timer where Youtube will be blocked until the timer runs out, or alternatively one where Youtube is automatically blocked after a timer runs out?

• (2024-12-31) Zero Liu: This is more sophisticated than other site blocking extensions. I had mixed feeling about YouTube because it can provide valuable learning content besides entertainment. It's smart that it uses the YouTube data API to understand the data. The instruction of setting up Google Cloud account is very thorough. It provides useful tips to set up the right API key. I hope it disables YouTube shorts too.

• (2024-06-28) Wodes: It is really good returning YouTube homepage for the extension if it detected as non-educational. The instructions was a challenge to set up when figure where is where in the set up guide. Only issue that I am currently seeing is the non-educational videos is still there and tolerate it if I chose it wrong as I would like to see the page without the non-educational or highlighting the video thumbnail non-educational so that we can choose videos that we can watch from main page or search bar.

• (2024-04-17) slayingduck: Works great! Installation guide was kinda hard to follow though. If you want to add a new feature: Decide on what to block in settings. For instance, right now it also blocks music, which does help (me atleast) to be more productive.

If you click a video that is entertainment it redirects you to the youtube home page. I would like it to hide the entertainment videos or gray them out. It is still pretty cool so I will will continue to use it.

I would suggest you to start collecting central information around video id and its category and use that to filter out category. I will be easier for the end users. This is something that I would even be ready to pay for every month but you can do some market research if more people are interested and make that service. So people who configure that google cloud account can use it for free others can just take the paid service.

If I search for entertainment videos and then on the search result of the videos if I click on add to queue option on the video itself, the video will get minimized in a small window and I can play it. It will play even though it's a non educational video. So basically by clicking the add to queue option the video gets minimized and then if I click on the play button the video will start playing. It would be of immense help if this could be fixed.

Still throws error that ur API Key call reached the limit whenever I use entertainment videos & doesn't works as needed, although when I see dashboard for API Key usage, not even one time call is made by this extension.
