Google Meet Users can now Annotate while Screen Sharing!
The Annotate Meet by Denis Sheeran Chrome Extension initiates a toolbar which includes a Pencil, Pen, Highlighter, Lines, Arrows, Boxes, Color Choices, Save Feature and more!
Annotate like you did with Zoom, only with the security and comfort of the Google Meet platform. This extension is especially useful for Education and Enterprise users during remote instruction.
Once you're finished annotating, click the Clear All button to clear the screen!
If you want to save your annotations, click the Save Icon.
All annotations are over the screen and do not anchor to the text. If you scroll down or change tabs, annotations remain on screen until Finish Annotating is clicked.

- (2022-03-12) Chhavi Chalukya: Humph. Each time I click on the icon, I feel so happy but horrible thing happened - it became full screen and my camera froze... @jaynumba7 and Juvie were right. This Chrome extension...I'm gonna search for another extension. I'm removing this from Chrome. I want to get rid of it!
- (2021-09-22) JAYNUMBA7: was never able to use it
- (2021-09-18) Felina Faerlaingal: It's a bit cumbersome. I know it's not fair to compare to zoom, since it's not a native app option, but it's the biggest comparison out there: it's very cumbersome compared to zoom That said, in absence of a better option, it'll have to do
- (2021-07-23) Christina Metcalfe: Did not work. Followed the instructions above, but each time you tried to run it during a presentation it froze and then quickly failed in seconds.
- (2021-07-16) Jael Santos: Does not work in my chrome
- (2021-06-10) Deejay Dee: I had the same problem when I tried it just now. Every time I click on the annotation icon, the tutorial video keeps on appearing. I looked into YT and saw his reply in one of the comments. Try restarting your Meet and share you screen first before you annotate. Its working on me now/. Hope this will help.
- (2021-04-29) Juvie Mendreza: It doesn't work on me. Every time I click the extension button, the tools does not displayed. The tutorial pop-ups every time I click the button
- (2021-04-13) Elizabeth Reyes: i was trying to use it but this icon when i press it it only shows a video on how to use it ITS SO STRESSING!
- (2021-03-26) Gary Schwake: Great idea, but never got it to work. When I click the extension icon, it expands to full screen, displays the annotation tools, then after a few seconds reverts back to a normal screen, without annotation tools visible. I am still stunned that Google has yet to build this common feature into Meet.
- (2021-03-01) John Noel Maape: when i click the extension icon, it just pops out how to use it (the one with the video). how are the annotate tools accessed?
- (2021-02-09) Manuel Peralta: Annotations work well for teachers when students can see what is being annotated. Not with this extension.
- (2021-02-02) Daniel Baharestani: It creates a screenshot of your screen and allows you to annotate it only if you are the presenter. Nothing like Zoom annotation which allows everyone to collaboratively annotate. It also has a bug, the screenshot captured doesn't align with your actual screen size and leaves empty space on the bottom right.
- (2021-02-01) SITI AISHAH LEBAI SAABAN: stream froze and enter full screen mode everytime I click the extension.
- (2021-01-23) aisha ais: HOW TO USE IT ??//
- (2021-01-11) Peter Harmsen: It does not work properly on MacOS. After the extension is enabled, the image will be frozen so that you can write but not switch applications while presenting. I think that's a big omission! Zoom and WebEx really do that better.
- (2021-01-06) Miguel Angel Garcia Rivera: Thanks Denis.. It's a great tool. Thanks a lot.
- (2020-11-20) Marcos Romera: Just doesn't work...This Dennis guy is the Ed Sheeran loser brother....
- (2020-11-06) Eric Hutcheson: +1 I need this to annotate other people's screen, not my own.
- (2020-10-13) Rishikesh Sharma: It is good but it would be amazing if it could annotate other people's screen too. It would halp even more while presenting
- (2020-09-25) María Guadalupe Martínez Caamaño: The extension doesn't work! It only shows a video!
- (2020-08-25) ArmyVpear: The app means to be useful, but I can't use it... it just doesn't perform well in my computer, the tools does not appear...
- (2020-08-20) Vlas Bashynskyi: I love this extension :) It helps me annotate my screen while presenting in google meet. It is light and fast and does not collect any user data. Highly recommend!
