• (2024-12-13) macaroniandburritos: i.. HATE this extension. i know that "visiting or watching certain things isn't okay!!!", true, true.. BUT, it blocks random things that are completely fine! if you are a teacher, school administrator, ect, DON'T download this, its terrible. coming from a student who uses this (forced to use this) in their school by the way for like 6 years... though, there are some things you can do to shortly disable it. for windows, do ctrl + shift + esc. for chromeos (the thing with the search button i think) do search + esc. then just disable blocksi in that menu by finding the extension then right clicking and clicking the button that gets rid of it. this only disables it for 5 seconds so be quick

• (2022-09-13) Alec Barger: Hi. I'm assuming if you're reading this you're in 1 of 3 groups. 1. You're a student, and you hate it because it blocks stuff, 2. You are a teacher, in the school staff, etc. and you love it, or 3. You are a part of the school administrative team and you are considering choosing this app to install on your student's devices or your network. Just to open up, I am a student. I will probably say some biased things, but I hope you consider my point at the very least. First, I think Blocksi does an excellent job at monitoring classroom activity and giving teachers the ability to see what their students are doing in class time or during open periods. It also gives school authority the ability to track inappropriate sites and cyberbullying. This is AMAZING!!!! I will touch on why I rated it 2 stars in a second, but Blocksi does a great job keeping students on task and in line. But, there are a few major problems. Problem number 1. This is probably the most important problem, but if your school uses Blocksi, AND your school has a WIFI network, then Blocksi can view ANY device that you connect to the network. Yes, this includes students' phones. (And maybe staff too.) Problem number 2. If you have a school computer, Blocksi will track and monitor everything you do on other accounts, not just your school account. And number 3. Blocksi still monitors you over the summer and during out-of-school hours. All of these reasons are very privacy touchy, and I think it is self-explanatory why some students may feel uncomfortable with this extension installed. So in conclusion, I would not recommend this extension. There are better ways of monitoring your students, and if you don't trust your students with a device, then why did you give them one in the first place?

Horrible. However, this site can be beneficial if you are using it on your home computer because you could use it to block malicious websites, but malwarebytes, bitdefender, and so many other antiviruses could do the same thing, so this extension is pretty horrible.

If you would like to stalk what your student are doing on their devices then yes it works well! If your the person who like invading privacy, works like a charm! Ok now let me be completely honest, From my knowledge if you are using a school chromebook with a school email and blocksi is being used during school hours, I believe its fine because The chromebook isn't yours neither the account. Now this would be the case if blocksi didn't access your other accounts on your own device as-well. From what I know teacher can see what you are doing on your other accounts that the blocksi extension isn't even on. Now if this is true, this is a complete invasion of privacy, the school can see my medical information, my credit cards, etc. This is illegal and an invasion of privacy. Now without the invasion of privacy their is still a huge problem. It blocks many use-full data sights which are provided by teachers. If these to problems are fixed than maybe its possibly ok to use this extension, but with a policy. 1. Teachers can only monitor the school account during SCHOOL HOURS. 2. The important blocked stuff gets unblocked. But overall this extension is not a good purchase I respectfully disagree with its policy.
