Youtube Playlist Duration Calculator
- Extension status: Featured
- Live on Store
An extension to calculate & display the total duration of a youtube playlist.
💎 Features:
- Calculate the total duration of a YouTube playlist
- Sort small playlists (100 videos or less) by different criteria
- Duration
- View count
- Upload date
- Channel name
💡 How to use:
After installing & enabling the extension, simply visit any youtube playlist overview page (the url should begin with 'https://youtube.com/playlist').
For example: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrtg3MOb7tvG9h9rll5V9O96owfcBpROG
The total duration of the playlist can then be found within the playlist information panel, located on the left-hand side of the page.
You will see the following displayed:
- Total duration (formatted as hh:mm:ss)
- Videos counted (how many videos were used to calculate the total duration)
- Videos not counted (how many videos could not be used to calculate the total duration)

it is not working now
Hi! That's pretty cool. But need you to update this extension because it old.
it is not working properly in my device
Works great. Simple and nice extension.
hey can't you increase the playlist count for more than 100 as my playlist have more than 700 videos.
Sort by video duration was all I wanted. It will sort them, but they won't play in order. The sorting is only temporary and watching just one video resets the order to how it was before sorting them.
The extension works very well except for the detail that it is not very responsive, I mean that to see what the extension adds to the YouTube playlists I have to go from 100% of the zoom to at least 80% of the rest it seems do the calculation correctly but they must fix that, greetings
Works like a charm, helps me decide if I want to remove some videos from my "Watch later" list and pass on them. However, I would love to have an option to display an estimated time in different playback speeds. E.g. how much actual time it would take me to watch the entire playlist if I was watching the videos at x1.5 or x1.25 playback speed.
its working when u open youtube in chrome but i wont work when u make youtube a shortcut and open it in a different window so it works
playlist calculation works great! I especially love the "sort by duration" feature, though sadly the new sorting stuff seems to not do well on playlists with 100+ videos (which is where I need it to work the most) :')
Stopped working, can you fix it please?
this extension i am using from last 6-8 month but now its not working. this is very helpful extension please fix the issue. to notice this issue i giveing 1 star rating. after its working fine i edit this review.
perfect and thanks for your work
Downloading it was no problem, it was quick and started working instantly. Now 2 months after i downloaded it just suddenly stopped working. Will try to uninstall and reinstall and see if that works, still an annoying issue
Extension works for small amount of time in starting after that it just stops working, it is happening frequently. I am using brave browser.
NEW : hey as promised im changing my review n thanks much for fixing it OLD : it was working till few days back now i think after sort by is added its showing some absurd number i even calculated that's not even in minutes please fix it asap...dw I'll change the review after its fixed to 5⭐
Handy and works good!
Thanks for fixing promptly when the youtube update broke this! I also really appreciate the ability to sort by duration that was added recently (it might have been added a while ago and I just missed it), it makes it much easier to find something that fits in my lunch break rather than looking through my whole playlist. Appreciate it <3
This extention was working good, but today i saw that the duration time is being shown in mintures rather than hourse, at first i was shocked then i realized its showing time in minutes, can you bring that duration time ( in hour ) back, or give user choice to view either in minutes or in hours.
not working
As of today, I can confirm this extension now works in my Watch Later playlist. That was the last thing I was hoping for, so many thanks to the developer. You made a great solution for what YouTube decided to drop some years ago. Blessings! April 10, 2024 The new sort playlist feature is a really cool additon to an already great extension. WTG, dev team!

It does what it says. An idea that could make it even better: Watched videos time can be subtracted from the total time of the playlist, like for example, 4hrs/8hrs watched.
Not working.
works like a charm, thanks for the nifty tool
you have to scroll for longer playlist. apart from that, great stuff 👏
Simple to use and almost always works! I am always grateful for this sunshine modicum of an add-on. Thank you for doing the job that YouTube shockingly can't.

Did not work for me
Great expansion! 👍👍But currently I have the problem that some videos are not displayed on the homepage! I think it's because of this expansion
Did exactly as it said, I was using web versions that were giving me the wrong time and just had an inkling of them being wrong. I used this and it gave me the proper count, thank you a lot!!!
Does exactly as advertised. I would love it if you were able to calculate how much you have LEFT in a playlist (so after a certain video). EDIT: From looking at the github, it looks like this feature is already in the works, nice!
Бывает, что криво считает
i tested it out with a few playlists that i calculated the duration beforehand and it seems to be accurate. pretty cool...

Sometimes it doesn't tell the exact duration of a playlist

The actual playlist duration sums above 100 hours but the extension shows only 26:32:13 I think the extension wants to say 126:32:13

Not 100% times gives or calculates the result....you have to restart extension to do so every time
