Colorway is a free, private, user-friendly color tool that allows you to easily sample colors from your screen while browsing the web.
Colorway includes a variety of features to help you work with colors. What's inside:

To use Colorway, simply open the extension and hover over the screen with the eyedropper tool to select the color you want to sample. The HEX value of that color will be automatically copied to your clipboard.
You can also create a palette based on a range of colors from the page, and generate a unique URL for bookmarking or sharing the palette.
Colorway was created with designers and developers in mind, but is easy enough for anyone to use. It requires no registration or setup, and is completely private. Simply click the extension button and start working with color. 🎨

Note about privacy: Our extension collects no user data. Unlike other eyedropper extensions that can see your pixel data, we utilize the browser's built in Eyedropper API (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/EyeDropper_API), which protects against user pixel data from being maliciously used. Rest assured, we care about your privacy, and don't find you all that interesting!
Note about browser support: We've done our utmost to restrict the extension to supported browsers, which is primarily going to be recent versions of Chrome, Edge, and Brave. If you've managed to install the extension on an unsupported browser, it should be expected that the extension will not work as intended. Well designed but having to refresh the page every time? No thank you.
dropping several colors into a palette is what I'm looking for and this does it beautifully. It doesn't work in opened jpg files of course (it's a Chrome extension) but it fits 95% of my needs.

Only works once on a page, then it won't reopen. If I refresh, it seems I can pick a color, but it doesn't copy the HEX code to the clipboard or show it to me in any way, so it's useless :( It was my favorite color picker tool before it broke, though! The UI is much better than any others I've tried.
I like how it adds the color code to the clipboard, but when I close the extension out – I can't open it again while I'm still on the same page. I'm forced to refresh the page just so I can use the extension again. Minor annoyance, but good extension so far.

This is a great extension so far. I can see this being really useful. Regarding your onboarding page, you probably shouldn't assume the toolbar is top-right for everyone. If you use Vivaldi and have customised your browser, it could be anywhere. :D

IT DOESN'T WORK
Its simple to use, and I like the UI:> This extension deserves a 6 star!
First of all, in comparison to the color picker that I've been using, the UI for this extension is just so clean and sleek! Would be perfect if we get the option to resize the tab bar that pops in the bottom of the screen though because it's a little too big for me. Also would be super cool if theres a vertical orientation of that tab bar.
I've installed and removed a ton of color picker tools and finally found one that actually works the way I need it to. I'll be keeping this one!
Sample console errors on some sites like YouTube: requestStorageAccessFor: Permission denied. Uncaught (in promise) TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading 'childNodes') Sometimes randomly does not work on non-webpage content like images: Failed to execute 'writeText' on 'Clipboard': Document is not focused. Does not work in sandboxed frames (some alternative extensions do): Blocked script execution in '[…]' because the document's frame is sandboxed and the 'allow-scripts' permission is not set. Although looks neat if works. But at this point I need something more robust

I love this tool, really clean and simple, the palette online tool is wonderful - it would be event better if you could same your palettes in an account but I install this on all my browsers and recommend it to everyone who needs this kind of tool.

Checking with Chrome's DevTools, and knowing my own websites main colours (and triple checking with ColorZilla), every colour I chose with Chroma was incorrect!! How could this be?!? I REALLY wanted to like this... I liked some parts of the way it worked (better than ColorZilla), I really wanted a colour picker that could help with chosing colour palette's like this one did (once you go to your website to play with colours/palettes, there's just a few more functions there that could make the experience so much better, like clicking on Tools>Gradient Palettes should bring the colour that is already selected with you, etc). Anyway, none of this is of any use at all... because the main function of the tool, eyedropper/colour picker, is telling me the wrong colours!! What the heck? I am happy to be notified if/when this is rectified, but at the moment, this is unfortunately completely useless... actually, it worse than that, it will give you the wrong info, and steer you on the wrong path with any colour you choose! Sad but true.

The menu pop ups, but the eyedropper doesn't work with Opera gx, I can only get the pages colour pallet.

Amazing! It uses the HTML5 latest color picker which gets pixel perfect colors! It also stores history of colors and has the cutest UI ever! Best color picker ever used so far!
honestly amazing! it helps a lot when trying to get the correct colors for art, as I never can think of a color to use on my own. no bugs- no annoyances- and it looks and works amazingly good. the best color picker I've ever seen and used in my opinion! plus, its easy to use! you can add colors, look at color history, and move the pallet around with no trouble. its helpful, if you need help getting colors, this is the right eye dropper for you!

Would be great if all the colour tints and shades could be shown as HSLA. Only the main colour in a pallete has HSL. And, with a full complement of tints and shades an option to have them exported as css variables. I know, a very tall order.
