Sunlight, broadly defined, is electromagnetic radiation from all the spectrum of the sun. On Earth, the sun is clearly when the sun is above the horizon, and the solar radiation that illuminates the Earth's surface through the Earth's atmosphere is called daylight.
When solar radiation is not obscured by clouds, direct illumination is often referred to as sunlight, a combination of bright light and radiant heat.
