SponsorBlock is an extension that will skip over sponsored segments of YouTube videos. SponsorBlock is a crowdsourced browser extension that let's anyone submit the start and end time's of sponsored segments of YouTube videos. Once one person submits this information, everyone else with this extension will skip right over the sponsored segment.
This is open source and the entire database is public.
With this extension, you will automatically skip YouTube sponsors.
The extension also features and upvote/downvote system with a weighted random based distribution algorithm.

- I am sure the possibilities are endless if you happen to be an IT expert, but I have difficulty in finding a compromise between it skipping nothing and completely wrecking everything. I deleted it and am trying again. Before I (probably) delete it aagain, I will post an update of what happened next.

- This extension is amazing. Unfortunately, it does not work with the new Youtube interface that seems to have come out within the last couple of months. Fix that and it's easily a 5 star extension.

- On samsung internet youtube homepage, it hides all videos, but on the video itself, it works just fine. Works well in brave, chrome and Edge, maybe its a samsung internet issue, but it might be the extension

- I have this and it's NOT working. I search for something on YouTube and the first result, followed by multiple random-ordered videos are SPONSORED, and these sponsored videos displaying in search results have NOTHING to do with what I typed in the search bar. This extension is not preventing sponsored videos from displaying in search results!

- Works damn near flawlessly on youtube proper. However, I noticed that, even though I specifically toggled auto-skipping non-music sections on YT Music, I still have to manually skip them.

- It has some problems for me. The biggest is that it randomly makes chrome lag for me even though neither CPU or RAM shows any problems in task manager. I don't have dedicated RAM either. It lags even if it already have loaded so it isn't a network issue either. Sometimes it identifies things as ADs when it isn't but mostly it works fine. It's possible that it's conflcting with some other addon that I have enabled. I haven't trouble shooted it more than just turning it off.

- Perfect, I know it is not your focus but just to keep in mind somenthing relies in my mind, possibility to create "chapters" as we know chapters can ben foward with ctrl + arrows, so it is not that important but some channels did not create this timestamps so would be a good hidden feature.

- This extension works as intended, albeit my YouTube experience got a little slower since this thing needs to phone home first. Apart from that, I like how the crowd is supporting this project to help us viewers and encourage us to do the same for others. Having many different segments to skip is also considerate so we can pick and choose.
