Open-source Anonymous Email Forwarding, create unlimited email aliases for free

Description from store
This extension makes it quick and easy to view, search, manage and create new aliases.
Please Note: The free plan is currently limited to a total of 10 active shared domain aliases (e.g. *@anonaddy.me) and 10MB monthly bandwidth. You can still create unlimited standard aliases for free by giving out [email protected] as your email address, the browser extension is not required to create these type of aliases.
To use this extension you first need to register (https://app.addy.io/register) an account with addy.io (it's free), then you can generate an API key on the settings page.
If you are self-hosting addy.io then make sure to click "change instance" and enter the location of your web app.
Paste your API key in the extension to save it. Now you can simply open the extension and create a new alias for any site.
Why should I use addy.io?
There are a number of reasons you should consider using this service:
- Protect your real email address from spam by simply deactivating/deleting aliases that receive unsolicited emails
- Identify who has sold your data by using a different email address for every site
- Protect your identity in the event of a data breach by making it difficult for hackers to cross-reference your accounts
- Prevent inbox snooping by encrypting all inbound emails using GPG/OpenPGP encryption
- Update where emails are forwarded without having to go through and change your email address for each site individually
- Reply to forwarded emails anonymously without revealing your true email address

- (2025-01-16) Anyelo Style xD: Addy is a fantastic tool. I've been using it for years, and it always works perfectly. I have several domains set up, and everything is managed efficiently and securely. It’s an essential solution for anyone looking to protect their online privacy. Highly recommended.
- (2025-01-07) Pedro Hagel: Such a great service. Flexible with the alias and recipients system, and robust management with the dashboard, means you decide what you get where, and you know it's working due to the stats provided by the dashboard. I really appreciate this. On the plus side, when I needed support, it was fast and to the point. That's a solid 5 star to me.
- (2024-11-09) Julian Belmarsh: This is hands down the best email aliasing extension I've ever used. It's incredibly easy to generate unique aliases that forward reliably to your inbox. The intuitive interface and advanced features make managing aliases a breeze. Since using this extension, spam in my main inbox has dropped to nearly zero. If you want a hassle-free way to protect your email privacy, look no further. This extension is a must-have!
- (2024-09-02) Grant: I've been using Addy.io for a few years now and it's been absolutely brilliant. Well worth the small amount of money for additional premium features which it seems are being increased and improved on a regular basis. This extension just makes the service even better. Great work!
- (2024-07-12) glad: Great but lacks 1 thing: A button near email fields (like SimpleLogin does, similar to Bitwarden for passwords) to quickly generate emails per website. For example, if my alias domain is glad.addy.test and I go to the register page of Microsoft, there would be a button to generate a random alias, once I click on it it fills in "[email protected]" in the form and creates me the alias email. Without it, it's sadly too difficult to pick up the habit of using it.
- (2024-06-28) Richard: I love this service. Solved my whole spam problem. The developer seems dedicated and passionate about security and privacy.
- (2024-02-24) Isaac McDaniel: Enjoy being able to make aliases quickly from the browser. Only suggestion would be for an option to send from an alias like the main website dashboard has to generate a properly formatted address. UPDATE: Thanks to Will for reaching out to point out that there is a feature in the extension to generate a send to email address.

- (2024-01-21) Kieran Colfer: Great for protecting your real email address. Browser extension works perfectly.
- (2023-12-15) Dude Abides: Great and easy to use. The integration with Bitwarden is a bit janky, so I appreciate having this smooth plugin available.
- (2022-05-04) Arpad Orfi: This extension works OK. The email alias/forwarding service, too, works perfectly. AnonAddy is much better than SimpleLogin, simply because the latter fails to deliver some emails, i.e. is not reliable. I am satisfied with AnonAddy. Thanks for this service.

- (2019-11-11) Data Desk: Nowhere in the description mentions the limitations of this extension, you can only generate 20 aliases before having to subscribe. I would recommend 33mail instead since it's unlimited alias, even for free users.
