Page reading time in a minimal package.
Blipread is a simple way to see how long it takes for you to read a page.
How much time do you have? Read now or later? Here's the answer.
This extension should work on Windows, Mac and Linux.
FEATURES
—
• displays in the toolbar the time in minutes to read the page
• your reading speed can be adjusted
HOW IT WORKS
—
This extension counts the number of words on the page, and using the reading speed provided estimates how long it will take for you to read the whole page. While it's likely there are more words on the page that aren't strictly content, it's still a useful indication once adjusted for your reading speed in words per minute.

- (2023-01-18) Angela Rollins: I've tested many reading time estimator extensions and this one is the best. It's non-intrusive since it doesn't sit on top of the website you're viewing like many do. And it's quick -- I don't have to highlight specific text and then click through to find the reading time.

- (2019-12-06) Jeff Golenski: A simple and effective extension to does one thing well. Estimates the reading time of the page you're currently viewing. If you're like me, you've got more chrome tabs open than there are days in a year. This little tool helps me to prioritize my reads when I'm short on time.
