Set an IP and get notified if your public IP differs. Useful to stay informed about network changes.
This extension helps you to get informed about changes to your public IP address. You set an address to check for, and the icon will be green if it matches. The icon will change its color if your public IP is different from the one you set in the options and you will hear a short notification sound (muteable).

It works as intended but I honestly thought my PC had the foghorn virus, it took me a long time to realise what was making that annoying noise. Annoyingly I can't seem to find a permanent mute button as the icon changing colour is noticeable enough. Could you add an option to permanently mute it please.

Muting sound doesnt work. it keeps alarming
Can't use sound notification in silent environment. Lack of popup notification. It's useless to me now.

Only works for IPv4 address, which doesn't change very often. Unfortunately the usefulness of that is shrinking because modern security systems check for your IPv6, which service providers are constantly changing, and which security protocols now use. If you're looking for a quick way to know if your IP address changed because you have to keep your firewall exceptions updated, this won't do the job. It would be awesome if they gave you the option to check for IPv6 address changes.
HORRIBLE ALARM SOUND - WHY? i thought my hard drive is malfunctioning or there's something stuck in my fan because of the STRANGE and LOUD alarm sound. I opened up my MacBook cleaned everything, ran disk error checks, thought i had to buy a new laptop.
I would only use it if I'd have an option to check once a day. Every 5 minutes is over the top.
Just installed. Looks like just what I need. Thank you! Would be nice if I could set the check interval for longer than 5 minutes. Like, once per hour or once every 24 hours. I'm also unsure (because I just installed it) if it will pop an alert or just make a noise every 5 minutes. I'd prefer a popup that doesn't go away until I click OK.
If you can make this notification check our IP every min or sec. Then i will say this add-on are perfect.
