Description from extension meta

Open a link in a new tab, not in the same

Description from store With TabLink if you click a link, it's always opened in a new tab! So you don't have to use middle-click! This is very useful if you have a mouse without middle-button ATTENTION It doesn't work in new tab, history, downloads, extensions pages Please rate this extension if you like it ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Icon from http://dryicons.com

  • (2017-11-12) Dane Stotzer: I agree with the other reviews. It works as described, but it is limited. It does not work on all links. When it works it "always" opens a new tab even if you don't want it to. The real problem is that Chrome does not provide a setting to bring new tabs to the top. So many other browsers have this feature. It's a shame.

  • (2013-12-14) Chris Brislawn: Installed under OSX Mavericks. This extension does NOT enable the behavior I wanted, which is for browser focus to automatically follow the last link clicked, regardless of whether or not it's opened in a new tab. Instead, it opens EVERY link clicked in a new tab by default, which quickly leads to a huge number of open tabs. I was led to this extension by a Google search, but, while the description of its behavior on the DETAILS tab is accurate, I cannot imagine why anyone would want to enable this particular default behavior. Accordingly, I give it one star for poorly motivated functionality and lack of a compelling use-case.
  • (2013-07-27) Jason R: Just installed and tested it for the first time. It works for me, but I immediately decided I can only give it 3 stars. It should have an option to at least be able to have links always open in a background tab instead of a new tab. Put this toggle in, and I think I'll love it.
  • (2013-05-12) Manish Chacko: What a POS-restarted browser after adding extension and still didn't work and so removed it and came to review-had to readd to chrome just to add this review-totally worth it-I can now remove it again :)
  • (2013-03-19) Bullshit. Doesnt do a thing
  • (2011-10-26) D K (KundaKinte): Been waiting for this. Would be nice if you could maybe have certain sites open in same tab. "an exception list" Like banking sites. If i open a new tab with my bank site it logs me out.

  • (2017-07-28, v:0.4) Jim Graham: doesn't work
I installed TabLink in Chrome Version 49.0.2623.112 (64-bit) and did a quick test, opening Facebook from the bookmarks bar. Instead of creating a new tab, it opened in the existing tab. Am I missing some settings for it somewhere? Thanks, Jim Graham, [email protected]
