  • (2024-02-13) Lévy Erik Árpád: The extension doesn't start automatically after opening the browser.
  • (2024-02-09) Patricia Block: Please....remove the label that groups vertical tabs by function (e.g., Productivity, Entertainment). We know what the tabs are for. This additional hierarchy-labeling just adds to screen messiness and too much unnecessary screen copy. Thanks. I hope!
  • (2024-01-19) Amanda Bunch: I like this vertical tabs a lot. The only issue I have (from reading the support) is that the theme color is picked up by the OS and not Chrome? Unfortunately since I'm on Linux it's not picking it up and so it's just white. I think it would be better if it matched Chrome's theme instead to be 100% sure it picks it up. The ability to have a dark mode with this extension would make my day.
  • (2024-01-11) Dashrath Yadav: Loved it, only thing is the wide side bar, which apparently is controlled by chrome.
  • (2023-12-26) Safire Ryoko: It's almost perfect; the only thing I could ask for the ability to add a shortcut to the sidebar toolbar. Maybe that's not a native Chrome thing though, since I use Brave. The only other complaints I have are likely issues with the native groups functions, so they're not part of this extension haha.
  • (2023-11-30) Bhavul Gauri: Love it. Helps me in seamlessly moving from Edge back to Chrome as it's the familliar interface. I wish there was a way to set a keyboard shortcut for search inside of "Vertical Tabs".
  • (2023-11-22) Antonis Anastasiadis: Best vertical tabs extension so far. Works well with Tab Groups. Customizable padding would be helpful.
  • (2023-11-12) matheus eduardo: There should be an option to hide the normal tabs. There is also an option so that just by moving the mouse left or right the vertical tabs appear. like from edge
  • (2023-11-10) JJ Mtz: It would be nice if you had an option to only show the tab icons without the names, or auto-maximize the section when hovering the tabs, just like Edge does.
  • (2023-11-09) ZO WA: How would I go about removing the tab at the top ofgoogle chrome please? I only want vertical tabs, not both vertical and horizontal. Edge gives the choice of one or the other and I really like using only vertical tab.
  • (2023-11-08) leo cn: The panal is too wide. It is good if user can adgust the width of the panal freely.
  • (2023-11-03) shanuvash dawood: Plugin stopped working after updating chrome to Version 119.0.6045.106
  • (2023-11-01) I needed something to solve the issue with not seeing tabs after so many are open in Chrome. So, I installed Vertical Tabs (VT) and my tabs are finally in the Chrome "Side Panel" (no extra window to manage), already grouped according to how I had them grouped in Chrome. Sure, it's no "Tree Style Tab" in Firefox, which allows you more features, like moving multiple tabs at once into multiple tree tiers and changing the color of your highlighted tab (bg color and font), but it does what I need. I can open and close my Chrome groups from VT and when they are open, all the tabs have that group color next to them. You can add a tab in the group if you want quickly using the plus next to the group without having to drag a new tab from the bottom. Plus, all the right click functions for the tab are present in VT, including "New Group." You can basically ignore the top now, like I do with "Tree Style Tab" in Firefox. Btw, if you want to have this to the left or right of Chrome, you would go to Chrome Settings, type in "Side Panel," and the setting appear. It's the same side panel that shows Bookmarks, History, etc. because the "Side Panel" is a Chrome Setting. Also, VT is the least intrusive tab manager extension, only needing permission to "read your browsing history" and "view and manage your tab groups." It doesn't need to read you web pages. Kudos!
  • (2023-10-27) Lorenzo P: Exceptional! Thanks for adding the tab pin feature!
  • (2023-10-24) Niño Piamonte: Yass
  • (2023-10-21) Thomas Wilson: best for vertical tabs
  • (2023-10-16) Richard Smith: It does what it says. But I see 1 major downside instantly: You can only shrink it to a certain point. It's 2" wide and there's blank space where it's actually only filling 1" but it won't shrink any farther. I just hid it. I'll try another extension later.
  • (2023-10-15) Yi Cao: best sidebar for tabs ever support tabs groups and closing tab(s)
  • (2023-10-14) oleschri: Works fine. Dev really works on bugs and suggestions.
  • (2023-10-10) Mohamed Abdelaal: I really missed this feature in Chrome. Thanks a lot for having such great extension.
  • (2023-10-09) Bharat Kothari: This is a neat feature and really do like it. One thing though...if I change the theme colour then all my tabs at top are coloured with that theme colour. However, the vertical tabs are not.Is there a way to colour them or can you add this feature please?
  • (2023-10-05) Kosmo Kramer (XO): This is the ONLY vertical tab extension that allows closing tabs with middle click out of the 4 other ones I tried. HOWEVER, it doesn't have GROUPS. Please add grouping functionality!
  • (2023-09-30) harktu: great
  • (2023-09-27) Michael Halisky: I've been looking everywhere for this implementation of vertical tabs! Excellent!
  • (2023-09-24) m8d kou8dia: I love it thank you so much. no one was able to do it like you did it
  • (2023-08-29) lovyhui chu: I have tried to find many solutions for vertical labels, and this is the best one, NICE!
  • (2023-08-08) Razan Halawi: Life changing extension, makes my work 10 times easier!
  • (2023-08-05) Ebrahim: Multi-select feature: add the ability to select multiple tabs and drag them in tab list.
  • (2023-08-02) Nikita: Works perfectly and seamlessly, seems almost native. The extension utilizes the already existing chrome side bar (it also changes to dark mode when the system does so), so it would be even appropriate to describe it as a chrome side bar extension – which is a smart choice: using already existing native interfaces instead of coding and making a whole new side bar like the competitors is really sharp thinking. Keep it up Sami Haddad, great work!
  • (2023-07-11) Dan: Uses native Chrome sidepanel, does exactly what I need. Initial impressions are great. Thanks! Love that it's persistent even when you close current tab. So much easier to manage open tabs. Brilliant. Installed July 2023.
  • (2023-07-06) Theo Gardner: Seems great from what I can tell. Much better than the popular alternative.
  • (2023-07-05) Evilee: i think need support set tab left
  • (2023-06-24) T GGT: Not a fan of the tabs on the right. Couldn't find an option to put them on the left.
  • (2023-06-23) alaska Canyon: i think need support tab group
  • (2023-06-18) benjamin957957: I don't like the new update. It has removed a lot of its old features as well as customization. When activating the extension, it moves the window's entire orientation to the left instead of opening in a new window. The height of the tabs displayed are too tall compared to its previous compact design. Could have just made another extension if you're just going to remove features... I am not satisfied.
  • (2023-06-17) helmut schacher: for me, perfect!
  • (2023-06-14) Ian Wu: It is recommended to add a + symbol below the last tab, click to add a new tab
  • (2022-07-13) Robin Griggs Wood: Very annoying; options don't work at all; it modifies the size and position of the browser window, no matter what you choose in the options; dev doesn't care enough to update or fix. Uninstalling.
  • (2022-06-17) Peter Persson: It is acting really weird...Browser and the tab-list are all over the screen on a 4K monitor... Make so one can attache the tab-list on the browser's window.
  • (2022-06-03) Luca Benazzi: EDIT: unfortunately I have to downgrade it to two stars, and will probably have to uninstall it. The windows management is a complete disaster. The extension keeps resizing itself at will, and it also modifies the size and position of the browser window, no matter what the chosen setup in the options is. This is extremely annoying. I don't want my browser window to be full width and I don't want it to overlap to the dock (I am on a Mac), which happens to be on the left-hand side. I will try to keep using it without clicking on the hamburger menu icon, but it shouldn't work this way. I hope this is fixed soon. PREVIOUS REVIEW (points still valid): Just started to use it, very happy about it I was considering switching to Edge, but the lack of customisation puts me off. With this extension, I particularly like the fact that I can move the tabs to the right, and set custom font size and spacing. I would like a cleaner design, without the dividers (that only add clutter), and with a white background instead of grey (or give me the option to customise). Flat design would also be better than old-fashioned gradients that only make the UI look heavy. Having it as a separate window is not ideal, but I guess that's not something that a dev extension can have control over. I like the fact that I can keep horizontal tabs and vertical tabs at the same time, it's not necessarily a bad thing. Thanks for the effort!
  • (2022-05-04) Zaire Ellis: Very useful and allows me to quickly scroll and change tabs, when I remember what ones I'm looking for. I just wish it didn't crash itself when trying to side by side panel it with fullscreen chrome on mac.
  • (2022-04-27) Nocturnal Owl Digitalist: Very well made. I am using in chrome and brave browser where vertical tabs havent arrived like edge browser. (All above browsers are based on same chromium engine). I dont know why chromium and firefox browsers havent brought vertical tabs. Using horizontal tabs is good but when number of tabs exceed the display size, one needs to opt for vertical tabs. But my only is concern is that it chooses to open up in poup and I cant find a way to choose between open up in sidebar (always, irrespective of system page or homepage) or in popup. Please give us that option. Also consider updating it in 2022. I like search tabs feature. Dark mode is excellent. Size and width and size of font and display is well made. Worth using. But the concerns raised needed to be resolved. Thanks.
  • (2022-01-14) Gabriele Trovato: It forces the browser window to full screen. Very inconvenient.
  • (2021-12-13) Mike: I think this will be a nice add-on to the Chrome browser but it isn't ready for primetime. Will keep it running to see how I acclimate to it. Good Potential. Dark theme is modern looking and appealing. A couple of improvements I would like to see. 1) It is too narrow. Even though I uncheck or check "Auto Minimize" it makes no difference. When closed it will always open too narrow for me and I have to stretch it. 2) Show Pinned tabs has no effect other than to remove horizontal bar between pinned tabs and open tabs. 3) Although I have auto-minimize selected, extension does not minimize when tab launched. 4) Would prefer it did not clutter my taskbar.
  • (2021-11-23) David Campbell: Vertical Tab is added next to window, I note that another user has mentioned this and the dev has said this is because of a limitation of Chrome. If so, then why do other vertical tab extensions solve this problem? Having the tabs on the left of my screen outside the browser causes problem with my desktop layout, as i have my mac dock on the left of the screen, the pop-out window holding the tabs interferes with it, hiding behind it, always snapping to top-left 0, 0. The tab window shows all tabs open in the browser, not just the tabs of the window you are looking at, this leaves it being messy and unorganised. As I organise my work by window.
  • (2021-09-09) Marcus Cox: This was great up until about three weeks ago. I loved being able to easily see all my tabs and close the plethora of tabs that I wind up leaving open throughout the day. The issue is a few weeks back the titles of pages stopped showing up in the window, making it impossible to use it to navigate anything. EDIT: The updated version of the application has been working perfectly. Rating has been updated. Thanks for the swift resolution!
  • (2021-08-30) Stéphane Lenclud: Did not work on Windows with a widescreen. Vertical tab window is added next to the main window rather than embedded into it. Tab titles were not showing.
  • (2021-07-23) Werner M.: I find it very useful; unlike other (more popular) extensions, it loads the tabs immediately with no performance hit on the browser - regardless of how many tabs are opened (I've got 148 tabs currently). I also like the way that the author has styled the "New Tab" button with the "Search" button, switching from new tab to search mode makes for a very seamless UEX. Congratulations! Also, the option to display pinned tabs fixed on top (non-scrollable) is excellent. IMHO, a few things would make this a perfect five-star add-on: - Make the width + height of the side bar configurable (and retain its value!) - currently it's possible to resize the side bar by dragging the mouse from any edge; but when closed & reloaded, it assumes its default values; - Allow rearranging tabs by dragging & dropping within the side bar (in short, changing the tab order with the mouse) - and to reflect that in the browser's horizontal tabs as well - I'm having to rely on a third extension (tab manager plus) just for that; And last but not least, a "nice to have" feature would be to have the ability to "hook" into the browser's mouse events, in order to allow for the side bar to toggle on/off, e.g., display the side bar when the mouse cursor is at one of the browser's viewport edges (left or right, depending on where the side bar is set to appear) and hide the side bar when the mouse is moved away. So that it's more "integrated" into the browsing experience (and avoid users having to click the extension to do that).
  • (2021-03-18) Yuri Snitko: when activated It moves browser window to main display
  • (2021-03-11) Rico: Works immediately, actualizes tab texts, configurable. Excellent !

  • (2023-11-23, v:2.1.9) Shannon Dimmick: show current tab.
Their are times I want to see the current tab, not the top of the list. Is there a way to refresh the list to show the current tab? Other than that it has been very helpful!
  • (2023-08-22, v:2.1.4) Oskar Kamiński: Grouping coloring margin
The line along tabs within single group is almost directly sticking to the side. This way it's not so visible. Please make the margin bigger and the line thicker. Also: if it's possible that the bible with name of the group entails the expand/collapse arrow - this also increases legibility. Thank you for great add-on.
  • (2023-08-22, v:2.1.4) Oskar Kamiński: How to change the theme
In the screenshots on the extension's site it is presented with dark theme. How do I do that - changing the theme of the browser does not help.
  • (2023-08-16, v:2.1.1) Hani H: Too wide
The width of the panel is too wide. It takes up almost 1/5 of the screen size. It would be nice to have the width be customizable, or maybe the "compact view" only show the icons - similar to how Edge does. Thanks.
  • (2023-06-18, v:2.0) benjamin957957: Bring back the old features of the extension
A lot of old features have been removed. Please bring them back. For example, the customization, opening in a new window (I don't want the whole window's orientation moving to the left), the height of the tabs displayed are too tall compared to its previous compact design. In addition, the height of tabs were previously customizable.
  • (2023-06-16, v:2.0) Minh Vuong: Please let us customize the vertical tab height
The height of each tab is too high and I have to scroll alot. I want to reduce the padding-top and padding-bottom of each tab, remove the domain line so I can see all the tabs without scrolling too much.

  • (2020-12-06, v:1.0.2) Miss Jelly: HOw to actually get the tabs to be displayed vertically,
Hi clever people. I have downloaded and installed the add on to google chrome. Then I restarted google chrome, the tabs are still along the top. I open the add on, and there is no page to choose the options as displayed in the add on information which shows the Add on and also the options page. Please advise, how I get to see the options page so that I can get to choose the options? Thank you, from Helen.
