Instagram makes code changes regularly that break some functions such as audio control or video time position, which often apply to some users but not others, but the developer is very responsive when good problem reports are made (rather than complaining in a review) and has worked with me directly multiple times to troubleshoot and fix the issues.

• (2023-06-19) Henny Molly: Since i've downloaded this extension about a year ago the "remember video volume level" has not worked once. It initially plays videos at 100% volume which is excruciating loud (as is without the extension!) and since a few weeks ago it keeps muting and pausing the video after the first view, so no looping. Rest of the controls work fine, like the progress- and the volume bar and the play/pause buttons and playback speed.

• (2023-06-06) Mamad Nobari: Works great, and apart from the mute thing that happens, which most of the times is Instagram's problem not this plugin, I have only one problem with it. And that is that I can't click on a video playing in a story so I could go to the main page the video was shared from. Turning it off solves it, but if they could just make it so the upper half isn't the controls when watching a story, it would solve it and we could have control and also being able to click on the video to go the original page.

• (2023-06-01) Nathan Gonzales: It works almost perfectly, I found out that the issue people are having with it automatically muting is because the normal Instagram button for muting a video is toggled on by default. You can just unmute it, it's right above the new playback buttons to the right side. Now it should work properly, my only complaint is that when you click on a new video it plays it at full blast automatically still, it doesn't remember your last video's volume. idk if that can be changed but otherwise amazing extension

  Hijacks CMD+Up arrow & CMD+Down arrow keyboard shortcuts on Mac. These shortcuts are core to the browser to go to the top and bottom of a page and should not be overwritten as the extension does. They aren't customizable in chrome://extensions/shortcuts.

  Please include a way to change default volume so video doesn't begin muted and automatically mute if you try to start it over. If the video is only a few seconds long you can't ever even hear the beginning because you have to start it over and then as speedily as you can go over and unmute it. And even with this extension, which is now looping Insta videos by default, the volume is automatically muted again at the beginning.

  Hi. I just want to report an issue that this extension affects the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + arrow-key [up, down, left, right] which is used in Google Sheets [same in Excel] to navigate to the last cell populated with data. I'm a heavy user of Google Sheets and this was driving me crazy, as it's a frequently used keyboard shortcut. After some googling I found a forum where someone said that he found out it was caused by your Chrome extension. I then uninstalled it, with a great sense of relief. Could you please put a warning somewhere in the installation workflow? Maybe right after the installation, if Chrome can open a page with some info about this side effect. However, the ideal thing to do would be for you guys to fix the issue.

  IG seems to have made a minor change again, so that if audio is turned on using the extension (so it only applies to the one video instead of all videos), using the position bar to jump back or forth, or pausing and unpausing the video, turns the audio off again. This makes it hard to have the audio working immediately when the video starts to play because I can't position it at the beginning and turn on audio then click play, and have to turn it on again when moving around. And of course turning on audio globally means I have to turn it off again before scrolling otherwise I get blasted with the next one (they are also always resetting to maximum volume again) and I often forget.

Have you considered making an instragram reel and video downloader that actually works? I tried over 20 of them and they are all broken on reels.   I think the last update Instagram pushed to the web version broke something. First, profile pages won't load the first time, I always have to press F5 once or twice. Then videos sometimes won't play or play sized to 2x2 inches. This started to happen yesterday and I have tried with the extension disabled to see if it was the culprit.

  When a video post is loaded and the extension does it's thing, in addition to adding playback controls it will scroll the page to it automatically. For example, if in the feed the third post is a video, when the homepage is loaded the page will automatically scroll to this post, same happens when scrolling through the feed as post are loaded. Also, on carousel post, if it contains a video not in the first position, instead of displaying the first slide it will show the video from another slide on top.
