Do you remember the classic sounds of the old Internet Explorer when clicking, when a page finished loading, or when a download completed? This extension brings those sounds back and adds other events, such as when typing in a text field or opening and closing a tab. In the options window, you can activate, deactivate, and customize the sounds to your liking.
𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀:

· Added the options page, where you can enable or disable events and customize sounds.
· Default setting changed to disabled for keypress sound
· Added events for opening and closing tabs.

· Mandatory update to Manifest 3.0 (which is more restrictive with sound playback).

Information about automatic sound playback:
Due to Chrome's policies, extensions that attempt to play sound automatically may not work properly. The most effective solution I've found is to close all Chrome instances and start the browser with this setting:
chrome.exe --autoplay-policy=no-user-gesture-required
...or if you use Edge:
msedge.exe --autoplay-policy=no-user-gesture-required
This allows any page, including this extension, to play sounds without user interaction. However, keep in mind that this setting removes restrictions for all websites, which may result in unexpected behavior on sites with unwanted automatic sound.

It’s also important to note that sound cards, after a period of inactivity, often enter power-saving mode. Since the sounds in this extension are very short, they may not be heard immediately at first.

- (2025-08-29) Jason Bratcher: Hey there, This extension's really not too shabby. I tried SoundsPlus yet the sounds mostly annoyed me. At least here I can pick .wav and even .ogg files of my choosing for the events. I'd kinda like to see a volume slider for the event sounds on the Extension Options page in Brave (using latest release as I write this but also have a nightly copy I'm keeping around for light-weight work). BTW, my name's Jason Bratcher and I'm totally blind since birth; using Windows 11 with the NVDA (not NVidia stock symbol), but a screen reader that reds the Windows interface aloud to me since I cannot see it. - (2025-03-06) C T: Recently added this extension to Chrome in hopes of getting back those sounds that Windows use to have. No luck at al. Any steps you can share on getting this extension working would be great. I see that others have some luck using it.
- (2025-02-25) TupperCord: Could there be a way to enable/disable the typing sounds? I'm not a big fan of them. Otherwise, great extension. Edit: The options page helped a lot with the issues I had, definitely a 5/5 now.
- (2025-02-19) Jessica: Update: The developer has now added an options page! You can now customize every sound option in this addon. I also love that there is a preview button so you can see what the sound will be if turned on! Back up to 5 stars! This was my favorite addon previously that I couldn't live without. Unfortunately with the newest update the mandatory typing sounds have made it so I can no longer use to my liking and have had to disable it from Chrome. If there was a way to disable the typing sounds, this would be a 5-star extension. Hopefully the developer can find a way to make a toggle so I can use it once more!
- (2025-01-24) Doctor Xadium: Great extension, but wish there was a way to toggle off the typing sounds. I already have a mechanical keyboard and the sounds doubling up are disconcerting.
- (2025-01-19) Vincent Y: before upgrading to 2.0 , page start stop sounds plays perferectly and I do not need typing sounds at all. It was a perfect product. Now with 2.0, the page navigation sound no longer plays perfectly with hit and miss sometimes no sound. And the typing sounds is very annoying and there's no switch to turn it off. I wish to downgrade

In between, i used a lot of third party extensions but none of them came even close to this one. I would like to thank the developer for the hard work & request them to maintain it in future as well. *Update* I had written across to the developer highlighting the issue of an error sound at the time of launching the Chrome browser which was promptly fixed by the developer via the update issued on the 03 July. In case you are also facing any such difficulty, please go ahead & update the installed extension to enjoy the fix.
