iCloud Passwords lets you securely fill passwords from iCloud Keychain when signing in to websites using Chrome. Any new passwords you create in Chrome are saved to your iCloud Keychain so that they are also available across your Apple devices. The extension can also generate verification codes, which you can set up by right-clicking on a QR code.
The iCloud Passwords extension is compatible with macOS Sonoma or later, and Windows versions supported by the iCloud for Windows app. To enable the extension on a PC, download the iCloud for Windows app from the Microsoft Store and enable iCloud Passwords.

- I suggest handing this project over to AI. This is the worst code in the Apple ecosystem.

- Doesn't work on Chrome for Debian (Linux Mint). Just says "designed for Win 10" when I click on it. Ugh.

- This extension simply does not work. After clicking it, all you get is 'Enable Passwords in iCloud for Windows' — even though iCloud is installed, running perfectly and syncing everything without any issues. The 6-digit pairing code screen never appears. Ever. I spent days trying to fix this. I verified every single technical component manually: the Native Messaging Host manifest files correctly placed in Chrome and Chromium directories, registry entries correct, the helper process iCloudPasswordsExtensionHelper.exe confirmed running, Windows Firewall with explicit Allow rules for every iCloud executable, all required Windows services running, system clock synchronized, WindowsApps folder permissions correctly set, no VPN or proxy active, all Apple servers reachable. Reinstalled iCloud from Microsoft Store. Reinstalled the extension. Nothing helped. The most frustrating part is that everything appears correctly configured — the extension and iCloud can see each other (clicking 'Open iCloud for Windows' inside the extension popup actually opens the app correctly), but the handshake to display the 6-digit verification code never completes. The two applications simply refuse to finish the pairing process. iCloud itself works flawlessly on Windows — all services are green and syncing correctly. The problem is exclusively this extension and its communication with the helper process on Windows. Apple needs to fix the handshake mechanism between the Windows helper and Chromium-based browsers. There is nothing the user can do from their side after exhausting every possible technical solution. Until this is fixed, the extension is completely useless for a significant number of Windows users. Do better.

- constantly is popping up the password autofill enable dialog in claude code web

- absolutely dogsh*t, doesnt work as intended

- Fails way more times than it works. Can't give zero stars otherwise I would. One star is probably over-generous.
- Andrew Conley
- Autofill mostly doesn't work. some websites do, but most don't.

- Please add support for Atlas browser
- AC
- Sometimes it works, often times it doesn't. Is no longer functional with the Atlas browser, but may work in Chrome or other Chromium browsers.
- Andreas Gerbitz
- does the job well. dont mind these other reviews. if your using a chrome browser. it will work just fine. unles your using some outdated browser like firefox or internet explorer. im on windows 11 using google chrome and it works the way its expected. i just dont like how i have to scroll through the hundreds of passwords i have to find the one i need.
- TetherX Ltd
- Intermittent and doesn't work on ChatGPT Atlas, just says "couldn't connect to a helper application on your mac" - I have a MacBook M3 Max with the latest Mac, etc.
- Ricardo Novais Pereira
- Honestly, I do not understand why people are so frustrated (maybe it got updated). It does a 2FA first time to sync - ok, simple and needed. Then it needs to use your fingertip or password on every autofill - just like Safari. I'm not asked for a 2FA for every autofill, just the keypass (fingertip). It's safe and convenient.
- Sehz
- It's convenient when it works but cause performance and other issues.
- Naman Vasudeva
- Does not work with Ulaa browser
- Lewis Hunter
- Saw alot of bad reviews, I run this on my macbook to allow me to use chrome and it works flawless, i think people are having issue if they don't have a macbook and want to use iphone passwords, in that case the phone will be triggered for 2FA, not sure, but it works flawlessly for me
- Anthony Zhixuan Cai Hu
- It's pretty convenient, but it's not updated to the recent version yet.

- Stay on 1password or lastpass. Apple neglects Chrome. This extension is a pain to use (when it even works) compared to Safari's Password integration.
- Tomas Buteler
- It's just useless as it stands, forcing you to verify the device via Apple 2FA most of the time, then unlocking the password app with fingerprint. Absolute overkill. I can't imagine how Apple would let this out the door in its current state.
- Peter Löfström
- Does not actually enter the password into the passwordfield. As many others have stated this is a multi-hoop-process of verifying / 2FA for Chrome(not every time, but often), then you choose the password/account needed - then you get an Apple pop-up prompting you to either use fingerprint or password to verify. And at least for me - it then DON'T enter the password. It's fascinating how Apple - Google products always have issues in performance, one could almost be led to believe it's a competitive sabotage from both parties..

- zero stars - only causes extra work and doesn't create any value at all. just extra work and annoyance.
- Armands Lazdiņš
- This extension doesn’t deserve more than 1 star, and I don’t know who could rate it higher. It has one job, to fill in passwords, which it does incredibly badly. Every time a password needs to be filled in, you have to enter the 2FA code plus verify with Touch ID or fingerprint. It’s beyond frustrating. First, Safari bugs forced me to move to Chrome. Now Apple’s attitude has forced me to migrate to 1Password. Great job!

- ASSS CHEEEEKS , ITS ADDED BUT I HAVE TO OPEN PASSWORD APP EVERYTIME I NEED A SAVED PASSWORD , USELESS
- Sheldon Lee Wen
- Doesn't work on Linux. I often shift between my mac and Linux and this does not work on Linux at all, making it basically useless. so I'm switching to bitwarden.
- Robert Whittaker
- nice alternative but often times the password suggestion pop up blocks the entirety of the password field so I cant see a thing thats in the field and there is no way to move it
- sams tabrige
- useless; kept making me sign in with the saved password which wasnt working neither did it allow me to type in my password. Also i felt it's not secure.
- Martin Knudsen
- It sort of works, I find it very annoying that I need to confirm with my fingerprint or watch for every password again, even if I just did it a few seconds ago. Also, the icon of this extension makes it look invisible when the chromosome dark mode, this is not good for accessibility.
- Vanya
- every single time i have tried to put a password form icloud it tells me to sign in its just slowing me down not helping
- Juan Blanco
- Its just too buggy, and it asks for sign in every time i opne chrome

- switching to iCloud passwords was one of the dumbest things I did in the last year. it doesn't work. my life slower. i'm sadder.
- Jonathan Lee
- Doesn't work
- Che Goranov
- It has not synced since Dec 2025. Awful app.
- Jacob Hailey
- Has been working really well up until about 30-60 days ago. Now after autofilling a password correctly, it asks if i want to update the password in the app. if you do, it saves the first 4 digits of the password and deletes the full password. please fix!
- Ashleigh McCartney
- I installed this extension because I thought it would be convenient to have my passwords automatically populate but I have to enter a code which is not convenient at all.
- Maxime
- Amazing
- Nicholas Scott
- total trash
- Don Marchant
- It would be OK if it worked. It doesn't.
- David
- works...on a mac...allows me to use a chromium browser and have the same functionality as using Safari. Great job!
- Jesse Bruffett
- I'd love for this to work but I have to enter a 6 digit code, literally, every 5 minutes or when I open Chrome. So this extension and by extension, Apple passwords is worthless to me.
- Satsrag Borzood
- please add a option: disable for this site
- Cosimo Crocchini
- Work on some website, but don't work for Google accounts login page. When opening Developer Tools and checking the Network tab, I see an ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND error for the following scripts: utils.js, extensionState.js, and heuristicsRedefinitions.js. Are these files missing from the release, or could they be blocked by another process/extension/setting?
- Michael Gross
- Seems to work fine in Firefox on my Mac but doesn't work in any Chromium based browsers, even Chrome itself. Just says it can't connect to the helper application. This is doing this in Chrome, Helium, and Atlas.
- Nicolas Roth
- it sucks, never works, always have to open the passwords app anyway
- Andrea Rizkallah
- Extremely user unfriendly
- Matthew Lacasse
- Works fine most of the time
