On an internet dominated by ads and corporate-run websites, Indie Wiki Buddy is a browser extension that helps you easily find and support independent wikis.
When you visit a wiki on Fandom or Fextralife, this extension will notify or automatically redirect you to quality independent wikis when they're available. Indie Wiki Buddy will also filter results across ten search engines (including Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo), to help guide you to click on results from independent wikis.
Indie Wiki Buddy supports over 650 independent wikis across over 20 languages. And you're in full control -- you can choose your experience wiki-by-wiki!
Indie Wiki Buddy also supports BreezeWiki, an affiliated service that renders Fandom wikis without ads or bloat. This helps give you a more enjoyable reading experience when an independent wiki isn't available.

- Sometimes mistakes independent wikis for Fandom wikis if they use a similar codebase, often linking to the wrong page in the process. For example, it will sometimes redirect Bulbapedia page links to Bulbapedia's search page, but with the wrong search terms. Overall it's a very useful plugin, just not always reliable.

- I visit various game wikis more than enough for this extension to be well worth it and it does what it says I just wish there was wikis for more games like overwatch and my singing monsters Sometimes the extension does just link me to the wrong binding of isaac item that I google searched the exact name of but that's O.K

- Great Extension just a slight problem currently when using Brave and trying to search for anything it just grays out the whole screen and removes all links from all websites

- This extension has been very useful for me for a while, but recently I've been consistently having a problem where, when I look something up on Google that has a wiki page for it, I am immediately redirected from google to the wiki page. Just to be clear, I am not being redirected when I click on a link to a fandom page, it is redirecting me from Google itself, not even allowing me to see the search results. This has been happening consistently with various things from various wikis and it's really annoying. I can't seem to find anything in the settings that could be causing it. Edit: Thanks for the help with the issue!

- I'm trying to search for random stuff about Minecraft and then i just get randomly teleported to the page on Minecraft.wiki and just a reminder breezewiki is off idk if its this extension or if its a google feature, but its great overall.

- Declutters invasive Fandom results from searches unless if the wiki you look for doesn't have an indie companion. Hopefully this extension picks up steam and causes more indie wikis to replace Fandom links.

- It's almost perfect, but it seems to completely mess up google images. I'll look something up on google images, click on the first result, and then my tab will crash because the image was from fandom and the extension is probably trying to remove it.

- Given how fandom has taken a steep downhill trend in quality and becoming more and more corporate controlled (looking at the mcdonald's incident), this is a great tool in promoting the new wikis that have separated from fandom.
