Indie Wiki Buddy helps you discover quality, independent wikis through alerts, redirects, and search filtering.
On an internet dominated by ads and corporate-run websites, Indie Wiki Buddy is a browser extension that helps you easily find and support independent wikis.
When you visit a wiki on Fandom or Fextralife, this extension will notify or automatically redirect you to quality independent wikis when they're available. Indie Wiki Buddy will also filter results across ten search engines (including Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo), to help guide you to click on results from independent wikis.
Indie Wiki Buddy supports over 200 independent wikis across 10 languages. And you're in full control -- you can choose your experience wiki-by-wiki!
Indie Wiki Buddy also supports BreezeWiki, an affiliated service that renders Fandom wikis without ads or bloat. This helps give you a more enjoyable reading experience when an independent wiki isn't available.
Please visit the Indie Wiki Buddy website (https://getindie.wiki) for full details, guidance, FAQ, contact info, and how to submit wikis to be included in the extension.
Fandom is a trademark of Fandom, Inc. Fextralife is a trademark of Kinbundo Limited. Indie Wiki Buddy is not affiliated with either site.

- (2023-11-01) Melanie Singleton: Obviously good thing but please whoever the developer is, can you add a notice somewhere to Opera GX users on how to get it to work from search results? Would never have figured it out had I not thought to check for people complaining about it in reviews.

- (2023-10-31) Justine Dugger-Ades: This extension is so important and so useful, I love it. One suggestion: when redirecting to Breezewiki, if it doesn't work on one mirror it should automatically try all the other mirrors and redirect to one that works.
- (2023-10-31) Eesa: Excellent extension, though I do have a complaint, but one which should be easily addressed. I like that there is an option to include a banner with links to independent alternative wikis, since I prefer that over being redirected automatically. This banner does not contain breezewiki links however, and the only option for breezewiki compatibility is to be automatically redirected, even if you attempted to visit the original fandom wiki through breezewiki's own links. I'd like to suggest that breezewiki links be added to the banner, and then that the banner be made visible on all fandom wikis rather than just those which have an independent alternative.
- (2023-10-30) Prinetta: works great! it makes for a much better browsing experience, thank you :)
- (2023-10-13) UM64A 2: Wouldnt Work. I Use Opera GX and everytime i try to use it it just doesnt work

- (2023-10-03) garrett: this extension works really well with removing fandom! ...suddenly after i posted this review it decides to not redirect me from fandom links to independent wiki links, even though i had set it to automatically redirect me
- (2023-09-26) J Jenkins: I was previously using a search blocker extension to get rid of Fandom sites, but this does that and even more. Spread the word, everyone: Support independent wikis!
- (2023-09-25) Hagan Gray: GREAT extension. Doesn't feel dodgy, is supporting better wikis than fandom. I used it mostly for the minecraft wiki. My only complaint is that the hiding from search didnt seem to work, but thats fine if the redirect works (which it did)
- (2023-09-07) Doe: inshallah the reign of fandom will end by indie wiki buddy's merciless hands
- (2023-08-19) i have moved to a new channel Kids TV: independent wikis my beloved
- (2023-08-11) Clementine Dimplefimpy: Fandom and Fextralife are literally some of the worst things to happen to gaming information repositories. Fandom because of it's unitability due to a million ads, particularly on mobile, and fextralife for it's horrible information templates with ??? under every category tricking you into thinking there's info there from a search. They also of course do that awful view botting thing by putting their twitch channel on every page so which leads to them having 30k viewers on twitch, but nobody will have said anything in chat for the last 15 minutes. Even when you search specifically for a non fex/fandom wiki you'll still get them in the top results with actual wikis nowhere to be found. This tool changes all that and works great, even for my silly little japanese phone game Granblue's wiki (one of the best game wiki's ive ever had the pleasure of using). Good stuff, the dev is cool too 😌
- (2023-08-10) ClarkedyClarke: August 9th update requests to read and change data on all yahoo.com sites. This is where I keep my personal email so I am VERY hesitant to accept this permission. I really love this extension but I'm not willing to let it access my yahoo inbox. Requesting a bit more transparency on the permissions it needs before I reinstall it.
- (2023-05-05) Dylan Cantrell: Yugipedia is back, so I have no more issues with the extension.
- (2023-04-30) Alex Villalobos: Fantastic tool!
- (2023-03-09) Ultima Nugs: Perfection
- (2023-02-14) Fallout Wiki: Really grateful for such a great tool. Works for image search, too, fantastic! Thank you!
- (2023-02-10) Dan Star: The internet's a safer, less-cluttered place thanks to you.
