Description from store NEW VERSION v.37 ***PLEASE*** If you find something that isn't working properly, please let me know before rating SANS poorly. Your feedback helps us make this product better! *** That being said, I realize that many of you are here to purposefully sabotage this free offering with negative reviews and one star ratings. Which is sad as it took many hours of work to create SANS. SANS works on GOOGLE and BING news ONLY. I hope SANS helps you!! If you like SANS please take a moment and give it a good rating :-) *********************** Now.. a little about SANS from the developer: If you're like me, you like your online news the way you like your coffee... the way YOU LIKE IT. Stop Annoying News or "SANS" allows you to block online sources by domain (i.e. huffingtonpost.com or washingtonpost.com) or by topic keyword (i.e. "Kardashian" or "Alec Baldwin") from staying in your news feed. SANS allows you to quickly add sites or keywords that you don't want to see. You have the option to 'fade' stories or remove them from view completely. It blocks the same content on both Google and Bing news portals. If you have a question or feature request, please hit the SUPPORT tab and send me a message. ---- Recent Build Notes: 0.100.37 - Support for Google's new format (June 2018). 0.100.36 - Support for Bing's new card format (March 2018). 0.100.35 - Support for Bing's new card format (2017). 0.100.34 - Backup and restore your Blocklist 0.100.33 - Updated to work with Google news domains other than news.google.com. (i.e. news.google.fr) 0.100.31 - Updated to work with the new Google News layout. 0.100.30 - Minor updates. Better sorting for block list. 0.100.29 - Better garbage collection and performance enhancements. 0.100.28 - Added support for 48 hour keyword blocking. Right click a word and choose to block it temporarily from the SANS context menu. This is great for when you are saturated with a trending topic but don't want to permanently add it. 0.100.27 - Added support for 'Right click blocking'. Select a keyword and right click. Choose 'Block' from the SANS menu.
Latest reviews (2018-09-30) Mike: Seems to be working great so far. It completely removes the topics you don't want to see which is what I wanted to do. You just need to enter keywords like "Trump" "Kavanaugh" or else and you won't see it anymore (2018-06-08) Chris Ryan: This is a great app that protects you from being inundated with depressing and disturbing news stories that is subconsciously harmful to your mental health. (2018-05-20) Jeff Walters: I appreciate the effort, but would like the filter to work across sites such as Yahoo.com (2018-01-16) Travis Wheeler: Changed results it wasn't supposed to change. (2018-01-11) Thank you!!! There was just one news source I found egregious enough to want to block, but it kept appearing in my Google News. It has gone away! Thank you!!! (2017-12-12) Maverick Rider: It will not stop Googles "TRENDING NEWS". It doesn't even recognize it. (2017-05-09) Guy Krenn: This extension is a dream come true! I went looking for a solution for the numerous inane fake news headlines from The Washington Post that were appearing on Google. Finally, I'm free of their lies! And ba-bye to CNN and the failing New York Times, too! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS! (2017-02-13) Evo Reso: Works very well at blocking fake news such as CNN, NYTimes and Washington Post from Google News Top Stories. (2017-02-07) Mike Tipsword: It simply dont work. (2017-02-01) John Marshall: It's just 'ok' at best. Too much is breaking through to call this one a 'win', but with some work and it actually blocking sites it'll get five from me. (2017-01-13) Wiztard: HAH! This actually works! So sick of cnn, huffingtonpost, npr and ap. They deserve an ISIS style execution. (2017-01-10) Matt Noble: No more Trump, Kardashian, Jenner. As a test I put in cnn.com and did some searches. This is a great way to filter out sites like CBN and other conspiracy theory sites. (2017-01-10) Clean Locs: Does not work. Added Kardashian to the list and even used your right click filter and they STILL show up in Google results. I deleted your app. (2016-12-27) Ned Saley: I tried to block Kartrashian family on Daily Mail UK and it did not work (2016-12-22) K Rubens: Finally a quick and easy way to filter out the "fantasy news" sources and get the the real news!
Latest issues (2018-09-21, v:0.100.37) Russell Young: does absolutely nothing
on a mac using chrome, downloaded ext and tried blocking foxnews.com, lead story is still from foxnews.com. I normally read news under incognito, but incognito mode access is turned on, and also tried it in the regular browser. And I disabled all other extensions to make sure none was interfering with it, and even restarted chrome, still get foxnews.
(2018-06-25, v:0.100.37) Barry Barnhill: doesn't work
Sorry, but your app doesn't block any of the websites I enter. In your defense, neither does the google news preferences.
(2018-06-08, v:0.100.36) Chris Ryan: Google News Issue
As I recall, your app stopped working on my computers when Google changed its News website format. I checked my Extensions and SANS is "on" and I have plenty of words in my block list so I don't know what the problem might be. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
(2017-07-13, v:0.100.34) Eric Teague: New sort feature
I am not sure if you can do what Google seems completely incapable of doing but.... Can you sort the page so the most recent items are at the top? Also, all of the other "Remove Top Stories" category extensions broke with the latest update. Can you do that too? Do you have a Paypal or Patreon page?
(2017-03-22, v:0.100.30) Add support for Google News country variants
I notice this extension only works on "news.google.com", it doesn't work on the local variants such as "news.google.ie". I assume this issue is the same across all variants (.co.uk, .fr, .de, etc). Can you add support for the other ccTLD's please
(2017-02-07, v:0.100.30) Mike Tipsword: not working
Doesn't do anything in yahoo. tried keyword and website

(2017-02-01, v:0.100.30) John Marshall: Not blocking
I'm trying to block some sites, but can't with the web addy or keywords. WashingtonPost.com is one of them. I can't rate this highly until it works as advertised.
(2017-01-16, v:0.100.30) Mary Donev: news sources still there
Trying to block Breitbart News on Google News. I have included in the list: "breitbart.com" "Breitbart News" "breitbart" Also have added "wnd.com" I have cleared my history. Stories from those two sources still show up. Any thoughts?
