Alex (the developer) recently sold one of his extensions (Web Activity Time Tracker) to shady actors who ended up getting that extension unlisted from the Chrome webstore due to their modifications. Alex did not provide any warning or indication to us users aside from editing the README file in his repository and his GitHub profile. The vast majority of people don't visit a Chrome extension's GitHub page or the developer's profile, let alone with any regularity to see the warnings that were added. What he did was not an acceptable method to communicate a major ownership change. This is unacceptable, dishonest, and scummy behavior, and I have uninstalled this extension due to it. I would recommend anyone else do the same lest this extension go down the same road.

- (2025-04-25) Silverwing: This app is fantastic at what it does. I found another app which does more than this and eliminates three chrome extensions I had (called Stay Free) I can definitely recommend both if you're looking to spend less time wasting away in front of YouTube's endless content.

- (2025-01-05) Rituraj Chattopadhyay: Youtube keeps recommending stupid content with very irritating titles. It is so damaging for mental well-being. Same for the comments. This extension is very much needed so that you can use youtube how you want, be it work, knowledge or entertainment without going into the endless BS. Even if you don't click or scroll the titles, thumbnails and comments, they are so anxiety-triggering and distracting that I would better like to stop using youtube even if it is so useful for learning.
