Client support for Privacy Pass anonymous authorization protocol.

Silk - Privacy Pass Client
Description from store

This extension provides unlinkable cryptographic tokens for websites that support the Privacy Pass protocol. For example, these tokens can be used on Cloudflare-protected websites to improve your human signal.

How it works?

Privacy Pass Providers: Cloudflare Research

Get tokens
1. If a website requests a Privacy Pass token, the extension is automatically going to request you to perform the associated challenge.
2. One page will open with a challenge to be solved.
3. Solve successfully the challenge and the extension will get **one** token.

It helped to significantly remove the amount of captchas on wplace. 5 stars absolutely deserved.

Pretty much sucks. Some sites it works great. Most sites it doesn't - you either get in a death loop where you can't login because you constantly cycle between the cloudflare verification page and the login "verify you're a human," or you go to a site where every page triggers the cloudflare verifiation, and sometimes just scrolling further down on the page will trigger it again for the same page.

A great time saver, 100% works.

I regularly visit about half-dozen websites that always did the Cloudflare challenge thing and they annoyed me to death until someone recommended this extension. It does exactly what it advertises... the Human challenge boxes showed up only one more time (on websites where this is supported) and now they're gone. It's going to save me hours of time. Thank you whoever made this.

This doesn't work with Cloudflare. It comes up, but times out and loops back to the Cloudflare 'verify you are human' doom loop.

It does it's job, as far as I can tell

Does not work at all

https://demo-pat.research.cloudflare.com/login correctly identifies that this extension is installed, however the challenge fails every time with "[Cloudflare Turnstile] Error: 600010."

nice and working

It's horrible and never ever ever works, crashes every single time and is totally useless.

Greyed out, does not work.

I'm not 100% sure about how exactly this is supposed to work. Note that I'm a fan of everything Cloudflare, and that's why I still have this extension turned on. However, I have increasingly been suspected of "not being human" — possibly because I'm using the Brave browser? It's Chromium underneath, obviously (or the extension wouldn't work!), but perhaps Brave blocks some additional things, managing to confuse Cloudflare. The point of "saving" a token so that you just need to get validated as being human once (or once per day...) makes a lot of sense, but it's not obvious how it works *now*. In the past, it *did* work in 100% of the cases, as others have reported. Currently... it's most a question of luck, I guess. Note that it's not easy to understand _what_ triggers the actual requirement for "human validation"; I have it appearing on my own websites, installed on my very own servers, which are also behind Cloudflare, but I would *assume* that, by now, Cloudflare would have "learned" that I'm supposed to be a legitimate user of my own websites — or so I would think. Granted, nothing can be worse than using Tor to browse the regular Web — you get validated twice, first (usually) by Cloudflare, and then by Google, which is _much_ worse and takes a lot of time, clicking on all those pictures until Google's happy... it's an annoyance in exchange for being able to browse the Web without being tracked.

Advertised as an extension to fix issues with Cloudflare verification, while it just makes the verification problems worse. Not recommended.

It works perfectly for my use case.
Đức Nguyễn (Duke)
I have been a user of this extension for years, and I find that it is very helpful (provided that you have a thorough understanding of its functionality). However, it is no longer as effective as it was in previous years, as the pass no longer provides the pass (it now simply resolves the challenge in front of you). The challenge is now more susceptible to failure; however, the convenience of the other successful attempts has already overtook it.
J de Silva
I thought it was supposed to prevent challenges and pop-ups.
J.M. Hardin
The challenge fails every time on a website that I need to access frequently.

I've been using it for a long time now, but the pop-ups of late are really annoying.

Happily used for probably a year. Is now causing constant pop-up interruptions. Had worked nicely in the background until now. Essentially broken now. Uninstalling.

With the update that was announced on January 4, 2024 found over at blog.cloudflare[dot]com/privacy-pass-standard this extension causes the pp-attester-turnstile.research.cloudflare[dot]com/challenge page (the same shown in the screenshot depicting the privacy pass token validation page) to repeatedly pop up, over and over non-stop. Literally interrupting any internet browsing that is being done, even when idly watching a video and at the time of writing, up to this point, it has already popped up at least 8 times before automatically closing itself before allowing me to continue typing. Uninstalling the extension was the only way to prevent this incessant disruption of the "latest protocol version". This literally began occurring after a restart of chrome which I can only presume triggered an update of the extension. If this is happening to you, remove the extension and the repeated cloudfare popup tab will cease to interrupt.

6 stars rating, and this is the one more than 5.

No longer works. Clicking on the extension to get more passes redirects to information pages instead of the ability to solve CAPTCHAs. Can no longer get passes.

La extencion se puede usar con los captchas de roblox?

Everyone, listen for a sec. No matter how many passes you have, you WILL see captchas. That's when you have to use those passes, they'll get you past the captcha just fine. It doesn't hide or block them! Unfortunately it doesn't work in my browser I use Vivaldi now, when I still used FireFox this extension worked well. I can't use FF anymore tho. I'm still on Windows 7 lol.

Absolutely BROKEN. I got 10 tickets for hCaptcha and still got the hCaptcha puzzle, and was charged 1 ticket for it! This kept happening: more hCaptcha and more tickets taken away. It's 🕑 time to fix this!

My setup is Chrom on Ubuntu. I installed Privacy Pass to use it for Bitwarden's hCaptcha. I have 5 passes for hCaptcha now. However, I still need to solve the Bitwarden's hCaptcha. Not sure in the meanwhile what this extension is good for.
