- (2025-07-06) Sky: I cannot overstate how bad this extension is. The Dragon software itself is already bad enough, and in the time I've been using Dragon 15 and 16, this extension itself has literally never worked.
- (2025-07-03) Daniel Kirtley: Simply doesn't work
- (2025-05-31) Kirk Brewer (kirkyeehee): Doesn't work as far as I can see.
- (2025-05-23) Robert Johnson: This stinking piece of S##t extension crashes constantly no matter what browser I use! I love Dragon, but I cannot use it because I cannot dictate to my online work.
- (2025-04-18) Michael Avery: It barely facilitates dictation much less gives you control over the browser. Very clumsy, and unreliable too. Constantly alerts that it is not working and needs to be reenabled.
- (2025-04-18) Fabio Salsi: It just does not work in Chrome
- (2025-04-11) Tanya Manser: I am always reinstalling the extension and it doesn't work. Even "read that" says it "can't work here".
- (2025-02-23) steveghanbari: I wanted to share my incredibly positive experience with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I've been a loyal user for almost 23 years! It's simply the best dictation software I've ever used. The accuracy and speed are phenomenal, and it's dramatically improved my productivity. My only minor gripes are the update process – while sometimes a download link is provided, most often updates are delivered via thumb drive, requiring direct contact with the manufacturer. Despite this small inconvenience, Dragon remains a game-changer for me, and I highly recommend it.
- (2025-02-19) Blues38: Always asks you to install it and when you do, it doesn't do much if anything.
- (2025-02-17) Paul Johnson: Its very poor. I am always reinstalling the extension
- (2025-02-13) HILLSTAR CONSTRUCTION: reinstall the extension
- (2025-02-13) Benjamin Haftel: I have to reinstall the extension at least once a day. It is obvious that Nuance/Microsoft is not looking here for feedback. The microphone calibration also stinks on ice.
- (2025-02-06) Thomas Bott: This extension works very poorly as by my experience as well as by other users. It would be nice if Nuance would develop a better extension for Google that actually works.
- (2024-12-20) Douglas Flynt: Using Dragon Naturally Speaking 15 Professional. I'll get to the point, it doesn't work with Chrome!
- (2024-12-07) Triple A: Chome / Reddit issue..... Just so everyone is aware, after much troubleshooting I have determined that this extension causes major instabilities to Reddit site in general, constant freezing, etc. etc. very annoying, this was never an issue up until recently, I'm guessing that one of the newer version updates to Chrome Broke something in the way it interacts with this plug-in and reddit in general
- (2024-12-05) John de Robeck: Very disappointing. As with other reviews, I have to reinstall this every time I use the browser.
- (2024-11-26) Dr. F Allen Walker: Every single time I login I have to reinstall the extension. Lousy careless programming. Suspected Nuance/Microsoft are simply trying to force everybody over to the web-based dictation. yYou would expect between Google and nuance and Microsoft there would be top-notch programming in this kind of garbage would not occur. Very disappointed and sick of wasting my time
- (2024-11-20) Amanda H: every time I login I have to reinstall this plug-in again
- (2024-11-08) Thomas Ficho: Every single time I login I have to reinstall the extension. Lousy careless programming. Suspected Nuance/Microsoft are simply trying to force everybody over to the web-based dictation. yYou would expect between Google and nuance and Microsoft there would be top-notch programming in this kind of garbage would not occur. - (2024-10-31) Ewan Hayes: The extension keeps crashing In google chrome. The cost of upgrading is excessive.
- (2024-10-30) Andre Scott: I can't give Dragon NaturallySpeaking any stars for working in chrome or Microsoft Edge because it does not work in those applications. I've uninstalled it and installed. The work for a while but then it will stop working in those applications. I selected the one-stop because it would not allow me to post without posting one star.
- (2024-10-27) Asif Ahsan: Dragon extension is unusable for most part with the latest Google Chrome (version: 130.0.6723.XXX). The problem is very noticeable in Website with contents such as YouTube or even Amazon and similar webpages. Basic voice commands takes a long time for the software to process and often become unresponsive. The extension also slows down regular browsing on those sites including interfering with mouse and keyboard inputs (inputs become unresponsive). Browser input problem related to the extension can be resolved by removing (or disabling) the extension from Chrome. The problem is not very visible with simple webpages.
- (2024-10-15) Olivier Lefebvre: The browser extension crashes multiple times a day and I have to delete and reinstall it every time. It is supposed to make me more productive, but it does the exact opposite.
- (2024-08-13) Andrew McColl: I, too, gave up using Word / Outlook and Google using Dragon - However, I now have the Dragon 16 Pro and that works without crashing anything. Looking at the other negative reviews, I will add that customer services have always been super helpful and also if you have lost a disk - there is a download site (https://download.nuance.com/) - It could not be simpler.
- (2024-07-26) Joseph Lasek: Based on the reviews below, I was worried about installing this extension. Have to say, I have had absolutely no problems. To the contrary, it has greatly improved my ability to use this extension within Google Chrome. not sure if it makes a difference but I use the nuance PowerMic and have also installed the PowerMic extension. Together, dictation is faster, more accurate and I enjoy the ability to be able to correct dictation errors within Google Chrome. I have had no issues with crashing or any other problems.
- (2024-07-22) muxxxxy: NB. The most important point comes at the end of this review. The company's response to the problem with this specific app (even though there is never any response from its originators/Dragon/Nuance to these comments online) seems that we must buy the new update. I wonder how many of us in the throes of the 2023 economic mess in the UK can afford hundreds of pounds primarily, it seems, to fix this software, especially when this app is known not to fix anything at all...?! I've never known any company to charge such a huge amount, if anything, for updating software which we've already bought. After months of reinstalling this app every day and more than once every day when switching off the laptop, I found little option but to budget accordingly. I bought the new upgrade, only to find that I have still had to reinstall this app every time I close the computer. Plus, foolishly as this has little to do with the problem, I had hoped that the new upgrade together with this app might just conceivably enable voice recognition to work not merely on Microsoft Excel, but on Access. It doesn't. And aside from Microsoft's own products, Dragon appears not to work comprehensively on some necessary applications anyway. Two important points that I hope will help others: After paying for the new version of Dragon, I still have to uninstall and re-instalI the extension here every time that I re-open Chrome. I've no idea how to stop it happening. So, even after paying the exorbitant amount for the Dragon upgrade, the problem with constantly uninstalling and reinstalling this extension continues. And even then, it doesn't work on many websites, particularly in my specific field of work. I wonder if the problem is merely that this app which we've all been using here is, quite simply, years out of date. The Dragon professional medical version has been updated much more recently! At least that app has been updated even if this one here has not. I'm not at all sure it's just the app which is the problem. Perhaps Dragon itself is failing its clients = us. The main reason That they have required us to pay for the upgrade of the software overall is surely that before long, technical support will again be removed from the previous version of Dragon and there will again be no more automatic updates. That happened to us with the penultimate upgrade just a few years ago. Be warned: we may expect the company to do the same again And require us to upgrade before we can have access to some aspects of the software.

- (2024-07-09) geor kemp: I too have used it for over 20 years and continually through out the day have the browser crashes at least 15 time a day. Pure rubbish.
- (2024-07-05) S H: I have used it in a professional setting in the past and bought it personally, but it doesn't work. It hasn't worked for months. I have called help before. I called today and got a great help person and he couldn't fix it but he said his supervisor will call me back.
- (2024-06-04) Tadas Eikinas: been using Dragon for over 20 yearsso, have extensive experience. browser extensio, n never worked well but in the last few years it crashes frequently sometimes four or five times a day requiring it to reload. Microsoft has purchased this company you would think they can get this working.
- (2024-05-23) dh: I used Dragon 15 for years and I loved it. When 16 female I decided to purchase the upgrade. Not because I needed to, but because I love the software and figured it had to be an improvement. I was very wrong! What was meant to save time and make life easier has become the very thing making my life difficult a big part of the time. It's really discouraging to see all these reviews saying the exact same thing for so long and nothing being done about it. If you are considering spending money on Dragon, I would highly suggest going a different route! Literally every one of these reviews describes my exact experience. Total garbage!
- (2024-05-22) Thomas Tumnus III: absolutely horrible how did these people get a reputation as good software. I use the window H key 10 times more than this software now
- (2024-05-17) Dan Donegan: I also have been using Dragon for about 20 years. the support used to be great and they kept up with updates. The last several years. Getting it to work in any browser is a constant challenge. Have to use their dictation pad and copy and paste. So close to being awesome I don't know why they don't fix it.
- (2024-05-08) William Reilly: The extension has always had problems, now frequently asking if I want to restore it in Chrome...then sometimes works and others not...I just restored it and not working at all.

- (2024-05-07) MICHAEL HAUBRICH: I have been using Dragon for close to 20 years. It was great in the beginning everybody was very kind and helpful. But it did generated as it went. It has never worked at perfection like the advertise and specially because of the price which is way too much. The problem is there is not really a good company out there to replace it so they don't care. It's a shame because the product works well when it functions to its limits. But that's not a given. I have tried Microsoft and it's very disappointing so here we are left with Dragon unless somebody has an idea for another company that has replaced the same function without a outrageous price. - (2024-05-07) Thomas Conway: Having been using Dragon NatuallySpeaking for years, but cannot recommend it to anyone. It is buggy, has been for years and will cost you many hours of grief addressing all the problems. My advice is to learn to touch type, if you are able. It will save you an enormous amount of time and frustration.
- (2024-04-22) Cappy Cross: Rapidly losing faith in what USED to be very good software in my 13 years experience. Now using Ver. 15 and developing increasing problems. Of course they got rid of the personal version and want me to pay over $500 for the latest-not-greatest. The extension has always had problems, now frequently asking if I want to restore it in Chrome...then sometimes works and others not...I just restored it and not working at all.
- (2024-04-17) Warwick Lucas: I paid full price a year and half ago for Dragon 15 - $500. No disk available - had to be a download. Then my laptop got stolen in an armed robbery. Because they no longer have the files available for download, I had hells own mission getting the software back that I paid for. Rubbish company. Last software I will ever buy from Nuance if they don't have a major attitude change.
- (2024-04-02) Rose Trengove: It has to be one of the most fruustrating pieces of software that I have on my computer, it Should make my life easier but I spend more time adapting and correcting my work than I do using Dragon programme to type it for me. Getting any sort of support from Nuance is like getting blood from a stone, I can't even log into my account anymore as it fails to recognise my serial number. But strangely, I can download an update their website but I can't insstall it. I can spend hours tryinng to sort out these ridiculous problems Which is unacceptableespecially when you consider the cost of the programme in the first place. I haven't corrected this writing you can see the mistakes that it makes
- (2024-03-21) Larry Watts: Paid 1000 for Legal Pro 16 after using DS for 15 years. Wasted money!
- (2024-03-21) Leslie Chia: Indeed, I have been on DNS version 3 to version 12 which works perfectly. And then Nuance decided to be clever and said we didn't need to do training anymore and Dragon will still be able to transcribe. The reality is that transcription accuracy dropped tremendously and no amount of training increases the accuracy as Dragon simply refuses to learn. Simple words like "She" remains "he" no matter how many times you try to train it, and likewise tons of other words. Also, it cannot transcribe alphabets which are instead transcribed as words that sound like the alphabet. Additionally, the earlier versions have a good selection of choices of similar sounding words which means I almost always have the correct word available in one of the choices. But now, the choices offered are restrictive and almost never have what I have dictated. The earlier versions also understand that we sometimes do not enunciate our words well so there are missing end consonants. Version 15 is not intelligent enough to decipher that. So unless I am deeply precise in enunciating the words, my dictation simply cannot be transcribed. So while I used to achieve 98% accuracy, now with version 15 my accuracy level is sometimes as bad as 30%, which is as good as not being able to dictate at all since I spend all my time making corrections as I am unable to do any finger typing at all. Similarly too I had also hoped that with the acquisition by Microsoft, with new funds being injected, things would change. But seems like nothing has. I am seriously considering version 16, but it appears that the reviews are also saying that it doesn't work. I really don't know what has gone wrong. How can such a great software end up in such an appalling state? Does anyone know if there is an alternative software that can work as well as the earlier versions of Dragon?
- (2024-03-01) Rob Resendez: Will not work on 19% of websites because it does not work in encapsulated DOM (https://chromestatus.com/metrics/feature/timeline/popularity/804) Some popular examples include: "reddit" and "microsoft co-pilot"
- (2024-02-29) Devia Eller: I am having the same issues as others below me with the newer version of Dragon and the extension not working at all. What's up Dragon? You guys Normally do better than this.
- (2024-02-15) Albert Yoshida: Few issues I have. The extension has to be reloaded every time I start a session. That makes no sense, what's the purpose? I have to start every paragraph with CAP and then I can say the word. If I pause in the middle of a sentence, it will auto cap. There is no learning I can see taking place, often mispelling words I regularly use. Words get put in without saying anything, similar to other comments. I have high volume need to use by will type, just as I am now, to ensure accuracy. I use about 30% of time due the hassles I encounter.
- (2024-01-26) D Strickland: Had Dragon/Nuance since Ver4 ? up to Ver12? Was excellent, but last years caused so many issues, including slowdowns, locking, copy/paste to applications, microphones not working, etc. Blamed win10 and went to win11 and Chrome. Removed it from pc after BSOD while trying to use. Company has/had other activities and got impression this was a secondary market that appears to have been neglected after niche markets of health and law. Hope things change, as said, it was excellent. Just don't want to wipe/reload pc again. Very disappointing.
- (2024-01-16) Dave Larkin: Take up too much RAM, and slows other programs down or freezes them up. It constantly inserts the word him randomly when I am dictating. Or as long as the program has been out and the cost of it it should operate a lot smoother. It just starts typing him him him him him him him when nothingn is being said or him him when there is no background noise. See what I mean.
- (2024-01-11) Hans Judek: The program has a lot of annoying features/problemms like tthe double characters in this liine (I don't correct it to jusst show how bad it is). I have to doo a lot of manual fixing, for exxample an exttra space in front of a period. In ALL cases, no exxception. Typing in Microsoft Word still works best and I copy and pasted into other appliccations. Odd! Unfortunately, despitte all these downsides Dragon is stiill the best dictation sooftware in the market. I am still lookking.
- (2024-01-10) steve hoad: I've been an advocate of Dragon from the day that it was incorporated many years ago I've gone from issue version 1 with version 16, with the acquisition by Microsoft I was truly hoping that the financial inputs of this software would make it vast or more reliable and consistent in its use but unfortunately it has the inherent problems of extensions continuously keep dropping off and the system requiring a reload continuously hindering the process of working with the utilisation of the Dragon system it would be lovely to understand why the extensions are not compatible with Microsoft or Chrome and why they continuously keep dropping off halfway through its operation.
- (2023-12-21) Lee Scott: Severely physically disabled from MS but with a brain as yet entirely intact, my study hobby ha become my way of life. But unable properly to write or even hold a pen anymore , this would have been impossible but for Dragon NaturallySpeaking. She doesn't get it right all the time, in spite of the publicity blurb, but correction is easy and in the 13 years since the inception of the FutureLearn platform I study with, I have completed 214 courses. That's an enormous boon for me but it's also a tribute to DNS. With more specialised versions equally applicable to the Medical or Academic worlds, or the basic Home edition which is ample for my needs, if you want to simplify your day by using your voice instead of tedious writing, Dragon is the program for you!
