  • (2023-07-13) Mustafa Anwar: Extensity is an exceptional Google Chrome extension that offers a wide range of features to enhance your browsing experience. With its ability to quickly enable and disable Chrome extensions, it provides unparalleled convenience and flexibility. Here's a detailed and comprehensive review of Extensity, highlighting its key features and benefits. One of the most impressive aspects of Extensity is its ability to help you keep your browser lean and fast. With the vast array of extensions available for Chrome, it's easy to accumulate a significant number of them in your toolbar, cluttering your browsing space and potentially slowing down your browser. However, Extensity solves this problem by allowing you to disable extensions that you don't currently need, ensuring that your browser remains optimized for speed and efficiency. Furthermore, Extensity excels in keeping your toolbar clean and organized. By selectively enabling extensions when you want to use them and disabling them when you want to temporarily remove them from your workflow, you can maintain a clutter-free interface. This ensures that only the extensions you need at any given moment are readily accessible, providing a seamless and focused browsing experience. The ability to turn all extensions off and back on with a single click is a game-changer in terms of efficiency and convenience. Whether you want to temporarily disable all extensions for a specific task or quickly reactivate them after a break, Extensity simplifies the process with its intuitive interface. This feature saves valuable time and eliminates the need for manual toggling of multiple extensions individually. Extensity's Profiles feature allows for quick switching between several extension groups. This functionality is especially beneficial if you use different sets of extensions for various tasks or projects. With just a few clicks, you can effortlessly transition between different profiles, instantly activating the relevant extensions for the specific context. This feature enhances productivity and ensures that you have the right tools readily available for any given situation. The ability to designate certain extensions as always enabled is another standout feature of Extensity. By prioritizing your most important extensions, you can ensure they are constantly active, even when using profiles or toggling other extensions. This ensures a consistent experience across all browsing sessions and guarantees that your essential tools are readily accessible whenever you need them. Extensity also offers Chrome Cloud Storage support, allowing you to keep your extensions in sync across multiple devices. This feature is particularly valuable if you use Chrome on different computers and want to maintain a consistent set of enabled extensions. By utilizing Chrome Cloud Storage, Extensity streamlines the process of managing extensions, making it seamless and hassle-free. Lastly, Extensity proves to be an ideal companion for extension collectors. If you frequently explore and test new extensions, you'll appreciate the convenience and efficiency that Extensity brings to this process. With its lightning-fast enabling and disabling capabilities, you can effortlessly manage and experiment with a wide range of extensions, optimizing your browsing experience based on your evolving needs and preferences. In conclusion, Extensity is an indispensable Chrome extension that offers a multitude of benefits. Its ability to quickly enable and disable extensions, keep your browser lean and fast, maintain a clean toolbar, switch between extension groups, prioritize important extensions, synchronize across devices, and facilitate extension collection management make it an invaluable tool for any Chrome user. Whether you're a casual browser or a power user, Extensity's features will undoubtedly enhance your productivity and browsing efficiency.

Hi! First of all want to thank you for such an amazing and useful extension! Just sent a little donation your way! Please add an option to pin a few extensions at the top even when they are off. There are a few extensions I turn on/off often and I'd like to keep them at the top of the list without needing to scroll or type in search bar. I'm aware about profiles but that's different. In general, I can see a huge potential if you make Extensity an advanced Chrome extension manager instead of simple on/off switch. Thanks!

Is it possible to add a feature so that the extension is disabled immediately after closing all The pages that belong to the site and we can customize the additions to the sites or to all

  • (2021-01-18, v:1.11.0) Steve Magruder: Prevent syncing of current selected profile
I have two PCs that sync everything in Chrome, including extensions. One of the PCs has much less RAM (which I will call my secondary PC here) and so I have created Extensity profiles, one for each PC, with the profile for the secondary PC having fewer extensions enabled to save on RAM and because I tend to not use as many extensions there anyway. As I sometimes use both PCs at the same time, right next to each other, it would be nice if the current selected Extensity profile on one PC didn't sync to the other one. I could temporarily disable syncing of extensions to achieve this, but I'd rather avoid these extra steps every time I want to use both PC's Chrome browsers simultaneously.

Hi this solution is not working anymore, any tips? For any one with he same issue, it can be avoided by turning off the new Chrome menu to pin extensions. Type Chrome://flags/#extensions-toolbar-menu into the address bar, then disable Extensions Toolbar Menu feature. Now switching between profiles will no longer hide your extensions.

(manually added of course) Please allow for multiple pages/sites to be added to a single profile. (Obviously, manual activation and switching options should still remain.) Add settings option to temporarily disable automatic profile switching. Examples: - If I go to YouTube.com, then my created YouTube profile will automatically activate. - If I go to scholar.google.com or PubMed.com, then my created Research profile will automatically activate. Thanks again for your wonderful work! David

  • (2020-03-19, v:1.10.0) jenz benz: Error... too many extensions or profiles to sync with Google
Extensity displays, "You have too many Extensions or Profiles to sync with Google. Your Profiles are still saved, but only for this browser." What is the limit on extensions and profiles? Is there a way I can make one profile default so that it is always synced, or prioritize certain extensions to sync/not sync? There are some extensions and profiles I use infrequently or rarely but others I use daily and some I use quite often. Also, please consider for the future if this is doable, a changeable default profile and the ability to layer profiles.. for example, one might choose a profile to be default that has extensions that do fact checking or grammar/spelling checking whereas medical, legal, scholarly, and other extensions may not be needed unless one is specifically working on those at the moment. Rather than having to search to enable those specific extensions or disable each time one uses a profile, it would be quicker to be able to enable a medical, etc. profile on top of a default profile where all those extensions are automatically enabled, or disabled once finished. Thanks.

  • (2019-09-29, v:1.10.0) Martin Larsen: Deactivation a profile
Hi, I have (now: had!) a carefully selected list of enabled extensions among all my too many extensions which I rarely use. The few times I need some of these other extensions I enable them with the excellent Extensity. So far, so good. However, now I wanted to create a specialized profile. So I did that, selected only the extensions I needed in the given profile and activated it. It worked fine. BUT! And a very big but... When I wanted to deactivate the profile, I couldn't. You cannot deactive a profile, only activate another one. This means that I can't come back to my long list of chosen extensions without enabling them one by one. And if I just could remember them! Not good. Either Extensity should be able to deactivate a profile and return to the default set. Or alternatively, create a default profile the first time you create a custom profile. Both solutions would be fine. Please consider that. Martin
  • (2019-09-16, v:1.10.0) Joel Render: Excluding Extensions
Hello, We have managed, individually assigned Chromebooks in our school with multiple installed extensions to help students complete various tasks (we have elected to not allow them to install extensions themselves). Since they are unlikely to be using all of them at the same time and they take up memory in the background, I naturally turned to Extensity, which I've been using personally for quite a while. With that in mind, I decided to have our technology administrator install Extensity onto the student computers, and it seems quite handy. However, I discovered that it allows the students to disable even the extensions that they would not be able to turn off in the actual extensions menu normally. The problem with this is that one of the extensions that we use is for internet filtering at home, which all of them are legally required to have enabled at all times. I'd rather not have to remove Extensity because it is very useful, but if there is no way to exclude certain extensions from being disabled or some other workaround, we'll probably be forced to do that. Do you/anyone else have any ideas for how to deal with this problem? Thanks for your time and any help that you give.
  • (2019-07-17, v:1.10.0) Stan VanDruff: How to activate a saved profile?
I managed to save two profiles, but I can't figure out how to activate one or the other. I tried clicking on the name of the profile then the save button, but the enabled extensions never change. No clue here, your website, or GitHub on how to use the extension.
  • (2019-06-16, v:1.10.0) Kninez Banky: Needs Dedicated Profile Shortcut Switching!!!
Please this extension is awesome, but it lacks one unique feature. Dedicated Shortcuts for profile switching. You can only set a shortcut to activate and deactivate the extensity extension as a whole.....but you can't set shortcuts to individual profiles that users want to switch between often. This is literally the only feature stopping this from being perfect. I would definitely donate money if you brought this feature. Right now I don't use it much, because it's a hassle to have to always go up and find my hidden extensity icon, click it, then click/un-click profiles all the way at the top. (Especially as I am someone who likes to hide all my extension icons for a cleaner look). Users could literally hide all their extensions and be able to toggle different scenarios with shortcuts. Your app would be awesome and unique. Let me know as soon as possible. Thanks.
  • (2019-06-12, v:1.10.0) Tony Meza: Unpin extensions from the toolbar
Google chrome has the ability to pin and unpin extensions from the tool bar. This does not disable the extension but makes sure that they don't take up space on the toolbar and run in the background. It would be great if extensify could do this, as it is a pain to do this individually. It would also be great to be able to organize extensions in groups and enable/pin the extensions all at once in a single group.
  • (2019-05-31, v:1.10.0) jenz benz: Profiles disappeared again
Fabulous app. However, Extensity disappeared from the toolbar with what I thought was due to a Chrome update. I found Extensity under chrome://extensions/ and it indicated in red print the possibility of being corrupt with a button to repair it. I clicked on the button to repair it. All of the profiles disappeared and I now have to set them up manually again. This happened a couple of years ago to me with a Chrome update so please let users export and import, including profiles. Thank you.

  • (2019-03-26, v:1.10.0) Profiles stopped working
Hi - Been using Extensify for a while and love it. Just recently, I started having a problem. I choose a profile and the appropriate extensions are activated. I refresh the window to activate those that don't turn on immediately, and most of the activated ones are turned off again in extensify. Cycle repeats - I click the profile, turns extensions back on, refresh F5, most of them are back off. Never been a problem till recently.
