  • (2025-07-04) Jacob jacob: I absolutely love this extension — and Malwarebytes as a whole! This company has saved me so many times, it’s honestly funny. From accidentally downloading straight-up RedLine stealers to brushing way too close to disaster, Malwarebytes always had my back. Total lifesaver.
  • (2025-07-01) Deppresion 2: Electric boogaloo: Lifesaver. whenever i try to download ANYTHING it eats away at all my brains bandwith with all the annoying popups saying "DOWNLOAD NOW!!!" in big font and bright green buttons. never again :D
  • (2025-06-30) Justin: its just blocking me from downloading code i put out there. and not letting me add an exclusion because it says the site address is not valid. so the only way to turn this off is to uninstall it? ok, done.
  • (2025-06-23) Nibish Man Joshi: Its very useful, blocking ads and trackers.
  • (2025-06-20) Col Harkin: I've never had a problem with any Malwarbytes programs, however I would like to know if updates to Browser Guard are automatic or do I need to do something? FYI.. I have all our devices fully protected by Malwarbytes and I would not consider any other provider. For those who are concerned by the cost, please remember "You get what you pay for".. !!
  • (2025-06-20) KC 1920: I've used Malware Bytes for YEARS and never had a problem, until now. I get CONTINUOUS pop ups from Google telling me I've selected too many Malware Bytes options. I hadn't changed anything, so I shouldn't be getting warnings. I uninstalled, reinstalled the extension and same thing. I deleted google and then reinstalled it and I'm still getting the same popups. I know this is Google's fault. They've destroyed everyone's extensions. I can not afford $119 a year for a paid version of Malware Bytes. That's insane
  • (2025-06-17) mateus mattos: pishing detection is really bad, the button to save a website as trusted wont work
  • (2025-06-17) DJ: There is no way to allow movie streaming with Paramount Plus unless you disable the extension. Giving permission to Paramount Plus does not do the job
  • (2025-06-13) Orianna M: Terrible service. Tried to sign up and it was through google. However,I did receive a verification code and I was initially charged for the trial. They put the onus on you but they don't seem to care if you are concerned about canceling. Waiting to see if a charge hits after the seven days. They also deflect legal responsibility. In California, a simple cancelation process is required.
  • (2025-06-13) Pab: Works very well, but developers should optimize this extension. I use Malwarebytes as anti-virus and its amazing!
  • (2025-06-03) Amare Dunn: I installed malware bytes before until I new about the browser protector, I used it to go on a website, I did not know it was a scam but malware bytes warned me not to go to the site. Thank you for keeping us safe. I'd strongly recommend using this extinction, I have no idea why its only 3.8 stars, but this is the best one I've have used. I use it to use 123 movies and now it blocks dangerous websites, ads, and downloads, now I can watch without having issues with pop ups.
  • (2025-05-31) Amatex Gaming: Hi Dev, More of a question then a review, I just installed this on a couple of my PC's as I recently purchased Malwarebytes Premium I don't know why but the icon in the top right for the extension is White M instead of the blue M logo but only on 1 PC the other is fine? I just come here to figure out what is happening, Any ideas? thanks Devs
  • (2025-05-25) Rade Bitanga: Hi. As of recently Malwarebytes do the following: On every site when I copy some plain text I get a popup that says: "(name of the website) wants to see text and messages copied to the clipboard" with "allow" and "block" buttons. Of course, I block it. It copies normally when blocked so why would a website ask for such a permission (EVERY website) ? In addition I get an icon of a crossed out clipboard in the right corner of the search bar . Occasionally, on any site including a board where I do a lot of copying and pasting the warning popup "did you just copy something" appears. When I try to paste it the pasted text is [⚠Suspicious content]. I have to disable the extension and refresh the page to perform the action. When I turn the extension back on the issue goes away. On the aforementioned board it only happens once in a few days and it goes away immediately after turning the extension off/on. It looks like some bug but it's pretty disturbing because I keep thinking I'm hacked. ESET scan finds no malware.
  • (2025-05-24) Google User: "Due to an update or newly added extension, Chrome has reached its limit of built-in active rules. This has resulted in Chrome disabling extension filters. " That's the messaging and it goes on to add that it's due to MV3 which has resulted in effective adblockers being removed from the store. The extension won't keep your settings despite making the changes. It's incredibly annoying. It's becoming slower and slower with each update. There's noticeable lag in Chrome. The adblocker is rather pathetic. The jury is still out on Malwarebytes' extension effectiveness against malware when used without the full (paid) PC installation. Uninstalled.
  • (2025-05-22) David Rychlý: Breaks Notifications API as websites can't request for permission!
  • (2025-05-21) Marlene: With Standard Preloading on, not Extended, I get the phishing issue others are experiencing with Google search. A simple search redirects it to a page that the extension then blocks.
  • (2025-05-16) J J: It's OK. It doesn't have an element blocker to manually block specific ads that Adguard offers. On some sites they ask that I turn off my adblocker, which means it doesn't have any filters for that. I'm removing it until they fix both concerns.
  • (2025-05-16) Penghuni Hutan Eilenriede: It was good, but unfortunately, many well known Websites in Germany are now mostly blocked, somehow too much. It causes symptoms, where it is impossible to click anything on the website. The popups of cookies setting or gdpr related ones are 'closed' automatically, which is actually good (similar to features on Brave), but afterwards Malwarebytes AddOn makes the website not click-able. If the AddOn is disabled/deactivated, the webseite works again normally. Which indicates, it is directly related to Malwarebytes AddOn. Please investigate and improve. (Tested on Edge, Opera, Opera GX, Chrome and Firefox)
  • (2025-05-12) Milinok: In general, it partially performs its function. But with some search queries (searching for a movie in my language) - it automatically redirects from the search page to a specific site. This happens only if this extension is enabled. So it partially performs the function of a malicious program - advertising. Which is why it cannot be a protection program
  • (2025-05-12) Hijeleum: good, but it didn't really work in some websites, sometimes i have to refresh the page for it to work
  • (2025-04-13) SUS: Better than Guardio
  • (2025-04-12) capitalzguru: THIS IS A PHISHING EXTENSION, I AM SURPRISED TO DISCOVER THEY BASICALLY MAKE YOU HOSTILE BY BLOCKING THE ORIGINAL WEBSITE AND ALLOWING THE PHISHING ONES. THEY ALSO BLOCKED FEW WEBSITES WHICH WERE SAFE AND ADDED THEM IN LIST OF BLOCKED BY EXTENSION, BUT WHEN YOU TRY TO REMOVE THEM FROM MALWARE BYTES BLOCK LIST THEY DON'T SHOW, HAHA THEY ARE MAKING A RANSOM MONEY LATER BY ASKING TO GO FOR PREMIUM IN CASE YOU WISH TO UNBLOCK THE SET OF WEBSITE THEY BLOCKED. VERY CLEVER YET SHAME ON YOU FRAUDSTERS.
  • (2025-04-11) John Shepherd: Does great protecting your browser but since MV3 update, it is a serious system resources hog. CPU and RAM usage are abnormally high causing laggy issues with Chrome. Malwarebytes please fix this asap! EDIT (4/11/25): So the dev team fixed this but its recent update (version 3.0.17) is now making Chrome act weird. Some websites refuse to load. Captchas aren't loading correctly or doesn't even load at all. Even despite disabling the protections: Ads/Trackers, Malware, Scams. Temporarily turning off the extension and magically resolves all the issues.
  • (2025-04-10) ZACHERY CHASE: seems to be either 2 scams every time you fresh install google chrome with only ublock origin lite and mal along with the default extension from google ever since the new chrome update. when checking with the free trial on what website was a scam it only shows a date and time and nothing else. No website Also the moment i updated google chrome on my other laptop it immediately detected exactly 2 scam i have repeated a full wipe 5 times and every time confirmed that it was a legit google chrome every time with the same result. every chrome installer was signed and and checked in virus total to be clean and i made sure each time that it was from the legit chrome installer. edit uninstalled ublock origin lite and it still shows up the two scam after wiping chrome and reinstalling it. note on my gaming laptop is not signed to google but my main laptop is and there both getting the same thing. This only started after the recent update in google chrome. Mal Version = 3.0.17 google chrome = 135.0.7049.85
  • (2025-04-06) Klein Visuals: I really love Browser Guard, as it saved me from malware when I least expected it. I constantly blocks unwanted ads, making my online browsing smoother. Having the extension is free, and you do not need an account to have it in your Chrome browser. Just keep in mind that you can enable and disable extensions that are important for your online safety to ensure an easy browsing speed. In addition, Malwarebytes took me to a neat program which removes my profile from many sites, thanks to the notifications from Browser Guard! If you want to move forward and pay for additional features, there is a chance for higher involvement to be a part of the Malwarebytes Community!
  • (2025-03-31) Kylie: Never had a problem until recently. I was searching up a random search, did not even have a website in the name, and when it went to show me the search results, Malwarebytes instantly redirected me to a phishing website, then blocked it when I should've just been looking at google search results. I decided to look up the website it was blocking me from (STILL, just on google) and it did the same thing. It took me literal HOURS trying to figure out if I had a virus until I ended up uninstalling google completely, reinstalling it, and the same issue. This was my only browser extension and it was the thing blocking the phishing website, so I assumed it wasn't the issue. After coming on here and seeing the other reviews, I realized it was. I uninstalled the extension, looked up the same thing I had been, and no redirecting. Reinstalled, checked again, same issue I'd been having. Please, fix this. I spent hours thinking I had a virus and trying to scan my computer and lost a bunch of data I had saved on google due to this. It's not a browser hijacker, it's this extension.
  • (2025-03-30) Amber Gemstone (Just Tryin To Live Here): worked great for a while until it started auto-sending me to websites when i was trying to search things on google, unsure why it even happened but its really annoying. never clicked on any link for it to do so, it just decided that one day it would automatically send me to websites i haven't visited in ages.
  • (2025-03-29) Seith Koch: good but when i try to search something up it redirects me to a malicious website and blocks me from it, i didnt even click on the website i just searched it up 😭😭😭
  • (2025-03-28) Sam: The Go Back and Continue to this website buttons no longer work.
  • (2025-03-28) Your Questions Answered: This extension redirects you to websites when you try to simply google something! I have spent the last 40 minutes testing, resetting scanning, googling, EVERYTHING, ... and now i just found out it's this extension ... omg! why would this extension cause redirecting to websites when googling something when this extension is supposed to HELP you with this lmao
  • (2025-03-26) Rodrigo Meza: Suddenly, an error appeared on some of the sites I frequented. I found it annoying because it seemed like more advertising from the brand. Until then, everything had been going well.
  • (2025-03-21) Phạm Trần Minh Thông: Good extension, but causing a lot of stutter and lagging, as well as fps drops if the extension cache is not cleared, there should be a feature to automatically clear cache or something, I hope the dev is working on fixing the issue, took me a long time to find out the root cause of my browser being extremely slow and operate at 3fps when scrolling.
  • (2025-03-20) levi solomon: works great even though im on opera gx
  • (2025-03-19) Stephen Scharf: I've installed Malwarebytes Browser Guard for Google Chrome and my title bar shows it's active. But, I still get the lower Security Score in my Malwarebytes app because it's *STILL* telling me to install Browser Guard for Google Chrome, even though..it's installed! And active right now as I type this. So...HOW do I get Malwarebytes app to update itself to reflect that the Browser Guard for Google Chrome is ACTUALLY installed? Confusing as all get out, this one.
  • (2025-03-18) Jordan Leich: This extension was causing major slow down and stuttering in Chrome for me, needs to fixed.
  • (2025-03-17) Denis: Malwarebytes is simply the best. They actually care about you more than the money. I've trusted them for nearly two (2) decades.
  • (2025-03-17) Larry Williams: I've tried to install Browser Guard several times. However, it keeps running me in circles and does not install and my Protection Score remains at 87.
  • (2025-03-17) Joshua Koutny: Most recent update makes this extension singlehandedly up Chrome's CPU usage by ~30%.
  • (2025-03-12) Michael Schwartz: Your instructions make no sense to me re adding Malwarebytes Browser Guard
  • (2025-03-05) Triggered Dukkshh: please help me the extension was working perfectly then after some time it stopped working randomly so i had to downdload it again and then after some days it was again not working and not removing adds why does this keep happening fix it please otherwise the extension is really good i recommend it to everyone

  • (2025-02-07) Gartholameau Darion-Saphino: Excellent addition to my browser toolset. It's easy to use and easy to turn off for specific sites. I would recommend this.
  • (2025-02-02) DIMITRIS PINGU: pretty nice havent gotten any viruses since the day i got this computer but question for the devs does it block Avasts browser guard?
  • (2025-01-28) Mike Taber: I am a big fan of Malwarebytes Browser Guard. It stops you from clicking on links that could do damage. It might also block non HTTPS sites like getting to my internet router (i.e. 192.168.1.1). But I can easily click on Continue to Site and get right there. Some websites still use non-secure addresses, and if needed I can continue if needed. I bought a copy of Malwarebytes for my Father-In-Law after years of "fixing his computer" when it was infected with malware. For 2+ years now, I haven't had to fix his computer (just get his printer working when it jams, haha). I would recommend!
  • (2025-01-28) Chris Corcoran: Easy to control. Removes Ads, checks for scams and Malware. There is no such thing as a free lunch, so you can easily enable ads for sites that require it. Recommended.
  • (2025-01-28) Bent Olesen: this product deserves 5 star from me
