Ryan 2025-10-11: It works well most of the time, but I have had multiple occasions where merging windows kills most of my tabs and all of my groups. I don't know how this would be fixed, but its a big issue. This latest tab merge purge has caused me to lose hours of work since I had multiple tabs full of research that was important for a job. I am now going to have to retrace my steps through history and half remembered websites to get my work back Update: If you go to the sessions folder in the file explorer, you may be able to recover it manually. To keep it brief, copy all the session and tab labeled files to a new folder before closing or reopening chrome. If you reopen, you are done. Delete everything in the session folder. Move the old session file to the empty folder. There will be some loss, but its better than nothing

I use my own personal computer (macbook) for work so I feel less stressed about it overall, and it's simple to set up and use, if you like organizing things for work, get it. I usually don't gas up things I use like this, but it seriously helps so much.

Latest update, we get a spam tab from a third party company. Reply 1: The "ad" is just with this new update. I never had a problem with the opening of the new page. The problem is that every time the extension gets updated in an partially-isolated environment, a new tab opens to a third party: https://www.maxai.me/partners/updated/?name=Merge%20Windows&propRef=Merge-Windows Voiding all the isolation work done. The problem is not about not supporting you, it's the auto opening of the tab to a third party which does not even provide a cookie consent pop-up. Reply 2: Exactly, your own site popping-up is totally OK with me. Thank you for engaging in conversation.

Nick Smarto 2024-02-05: I use this every day, it's simple and beautiful. The only option I wish they would add would be de-duplication during a merge. Maybe just me, but I wind up with lots of duplicates of calendars, gmail, same doc opened in multiple tabs, and wish Merge would collapse them to single instance (and maybe free up some memory in the process).

Daniel Alves 2022-12-02: Used to be great, but sorely needs an update to support new Chrome features. If you used this tool nowadays, it completely nukes any tab groups you have created. Since I always use tab groups I will need to uninstall this tool.

Kari Rajainmaki 2022-03-02: Normally an easy 5 star for this extension but for some reason, after resetting Chrome and re-installing Merge Windows, Chrome is opening "singleclickapps.com" page at Chrome startup (in additional to empty tab window which is my default). Very annoying.

Zoe Chan 2021-08-31: Simple, one-click use, just have one request in case the dev ever reads the reviews - with Chrome's new group functionality, I often have grouped tabs in another window. When the windows are merged, the grouping is lost. Would love a way to retain groups after merging the windows. Thanks for a great extension.

Unfortunately, the developer started excluding pop-out windows (e.g., video chats). There is already an 'exclusion' option in the settings of this extension so not sure why it's being done automatically. If there's a way to revert to merge all windows that'd be great.

Steve Haynes 2021-06-10: Since the June 2021 update, FB messenger pop out windows no longer merge with the main browser window. *Update* - Discovered more windows not merging. This extension is nigh on useless for me now.
